I had low expectations after seeing the reviews but after visiting and coming out with a full bag of clothes for less than $40 I've decided that the bad reviews must be a way for locals to keep their treasures their own! Don't believe it - go treasure hunting for yourself! This is the first time I visited FIRC Thrift store since a few years. I was surprised the non profit only accepts clothing donations and their prices are outrageous for used clothing regardless of name label. This location has the potential of making a lot of money for families in need. People wanting to donate lamps, dishes, kitchen items, books, movies, and All kinds of small stuff used around the house, toys, these type of donations are turned away. The original FIRC in Dillon was SOOOO popular. People would drive up from Denver to visit. What happened? Hardly any people go to the FIRC in BreckEnridge....I think maybe time to rethink the donation acception policy and put those workers to work. Why not start accepting Al kinds of items to make money for people in need. Workers are there standing around when they could be putting out items that can bring in money. The store location is large and can easily accommodate a lot of items that could bring in money that could buy food for food bank. read more

A tiny thrift shop in downtown Breckenridge suggested we head to Summit Thrift and Treasure to find some of the things we were looking for, for our summer rental house. What a fabulous find! Great staff and clean, organized merchandise that is easy to peruse with something for everyone! I understand it's under new ownership, so the improvements are great! We found wonderful children's books and toys for visiting grandchildren and even some books for us! read more

Pretty good outdoor apparel but way over priced in everything. Looks like they are pricing based on retail and not considering how old things are and even in retail stores there's generally sales. I found the prices here to be pretty spot on. I got a never worn North Face ski jacket for my brother for $25, for myself a I got a new marmot hoodie for $6, a Zella long sleeve for $3 and some new Victoria's Secret yoga pants for $6. The selection I felt was a little more limited than I expected, but the clothes were all in great shape. I found the customer service to be decent. The first girl that helped me was super nice, the second girl was a little standoffish and not as friendly as her coworker. I used to love in Breck about 10 years ago :-0 when I was 19. I can say I would have loved this being there when I was younger and didn't have as much disposable income. I can bet this place is great to check out regularly and find some real steals. read more

I used to come to this place quite often over the years, usually leaving with something worthwhile. Recently stopped in again, and the place is a mess. It's so overpacked with stuff on racks that you can't even really look at things because you can't get them out. And I know why.... The prices now are completely ridiculous. $35 for a stained 80's color pullover. $10 for a flannel shirt (again, stained). $20 for totally worn out running shoes. You're better off spending your time elsewhere. read more

I have never experienced such rude behavior in Breckenridge or anywhere! I went to drop off several bags of designer clothing for donation. It was a Sunday. The door was open. I offered a friendly hello to see if someone was around. An unfriendly guy have me a curt" we are closed and not accepting donations", and started to close the door on my foot as I was halfway out the door. There is absolutely no excuse for this behavior. Wow. I'm speechless. My advice? Take your goods elsewhere. A business who will be grateful to have your donation. I'll take my designer goods to Good Will in Dillon. read more

This is the newest addition to the thrift stores benefiting Family and Intercultural Resource Center (FIRC). You'll find it tucked away from the main tourist drag, down by the numerous medicinal marijuana shops. As with the Dillon location it's fairly small, but so far things are mostly organized. I found a great $4 vintage sheath dress, though I passed on an Italian (not Target) made pair of Isaac Mizrahi slingbacks since I don't really do reptile pattern. Expect to do some sifting. Note that they stop accepting donations 1 hour prior to closing. read more

I have been living in Breckenridge for almost three years and have always been a thrift shopper. I would go to this location every so often and get one or two items. Even though it is a thrift store, the prices seemed higher than they should be for a second-hand store. HOWEVER, with the new management, prices are lower than ever, reasonably priced, and the items out for sale seem in better condition and more fashionable. Just today I bought around 15 items of clothing and kitchen tools for less than $30! Glad there have been changes made to the store as they are 100% positive! read more

I live in Breck and am employed at a local hotel. I am moving as well as have a large amount of long forgotten lost and found items. Most hotels keep lost and found items for 3 months then either throw them away (most common) or donate them. Donating them takes a giving staff member to take time out of their personal day to drive these items to a thrift store. I decided today to take the hotels forgotten items and a few things that didn't need to make the move with me to this thrift store. I came as soon as I was able to get off, with a car load of stuff. I pulled up at 3:07 pm, seven minutes after their donation time. I got out of my car at the drop off area and overheard 2 people laughing and loud crashing. I looked towards the dumpster and watched 2 employees throwing whole bags and boxes full of items in the dumpster. Some of the bags were still tied shut! I headed towards the sound and a young girl came running out at me, yelling they were closed. I explained that I understood but I came as fast as I could. She repeated that they were closed and to just go away. I begged her to just drop a bag or 2 off because I needed the space and was moving. She pointed at the sign and told me no. In anger I replied that I would just throw it all in the dumpster. As I was getting back in my car to plan the next move, I over heard her say, " Do whatever you need to, we don't want your crap anyways!" Not only were they tossing unopened donations they don't actually seem to want donations. I understand they have to clean up the donation area and have lives too but I was trying to help my community and got treated like crap for my effort! I will find a store in Frisco or Dillon that will appreciate my effort. read more

I found this treasure last winter on a ski-trip! The gal working there was so very welcoming & friendly. I forget her name but when I went in a 2nd time she had actually remembered my name - to my surprise! Bottom line is the shop is clean, organized and prices are very reasonable! Oh & btw - we also checked out their sister shop in Dillon - were very disappointed with not only selection & their pricing but w/the staff there. Stick to Breckenridge for this Thrift =) read more

Disappointed! I have been to this store a couple of years ago and loved it! Returned the first time today and the prices were out of control!!! $8 for a t-shirt, $25 for a pair of used shoes that on the wall said were $10 and a clearance sign that said it was 50% off but was charged 25% off because it was not clearly marked anywhere that the other back rack was not 50% off (The racks are side by side).They also charge you 22% tax on all you buy. I would rather get a new shirt somewhere else and will not support this business. I would go to the Dillon thrift any day over the Summit Thrift. read more

A business that gets all its inventory for free and assigns arbitrary prices should be able to be flexible on pricing. The item I needed was damaged and over priced. Summit Thrift and Treasure's motto should be "The customer is always wrong." The treatment received from their nasty staff member, Natalia, is not worth a visit to this location. Before she came on board, this was a fantastic place that supported a noble cause. Now, the prices are completely unreasonable, which makes one wonder what sketchy scheme might be running. She gives FIRC a bad reputation!! I recently visited this location. The entrance sign stated that all tags of a certain color were 99 cents. I found a handful of items that had been tagged at this price. When I went to check out, Natalia said the tags must have been wrongfully tagged. She refused to sell these 5-6 items to me at their marked price. She said that she would never tag nice things at a low prices. She even went to the back room to scold her staff members and point fingers on "who made this mistake". After returning, she claimed that none of them had admitted to tagging them at 99 cents, and that she would not sell them to me at their marked price. She said she would be re-pricing them at a much higher rate, and placing them back on the racks. Because Natalia is so obnoxiously loud, other people in the store were looking at her like she was a complete maniac. Why punish the customer for your a mistake made by your business?! She then had the audacity to say, "I will make sure this never happens again! You will never have to waste your time looking for name brand item items at low prices here ever again, because there won't be any." Avoid this place like the plague. read more

I have been boycotting this store for several months because the middle aged female manager has priced everything outrageously high. I had a friend recently said she thought it had gotten more reasonable. Well, she was wrong. Apparently this woman thinks 2 bucks for a used paperback is a good deal? All blouses were 6 or more bucks. Really? Stop donating here folks. FIRC needs to look really hard at how this woman is running the business into the ground. Stupid prices for a thrift store.
