Lancaster County CareerLink is the place you should go if you're on unemployment and looking for…read morePennsylvania's most worthless public servants! Jamie Rivera was practically unreachable when I had an urgent matter that needed dealt with. He was the only one who's number I was given for the matter, as it was apparently his department. I called several times in one week and each time got voicemail. I left several messages, absolutely NONE of those were returned. I began to question the man's very existence. So I called the front desk finally and spoke to the receptionist. I understand that these workers have to deal with some not-so-fun characters, but she was completely unhelpful and downright belittling to me. Not one shred of professionalism. Is that a concept that is taught through Career Link? I sure hope not as they clearly have no clue as to what that is. I emailed him on several occasions and only once received a reply. His reply was completely unrelated to my urgent matter and I don't even believe he read the entire email or bothered to look at its attachments. If you have to go through this poor excuse of a business just to receive a lowly unemployment check, IT IS NOT WORTH IT AT ALL! Shame on you Jamie Rivera, you bring a bad name to all those who serve the public. There are hundreds of thousands of people on unemployment who could do a much more stellar job compared to this man. Give his job to one of them.

They will help me purchase a vehicle. BUT I never get any of that because I do as they tell me & go out to work (which I find on my own not with any help from career link). I've had a career navigator send me to a place to apply, but when I got there the manager informed me that the business had just laid off close to 50 employees. So having said this, I find this program a complete waste of time and effort. This time around I have told everyone that until THEY (career link) follow through with their promises I am absolutely refusing to look for a job. Now I am in a useless class that has nothing to do with anything that I want training for. And the staff STILL insists that I go look for work. Not a chance. I'm so sick of the lies that come from that place. Not to mention a lot of people that come in there have many, many issues that staff in unequipped to deal with. I HATE IT AND I AM MISERABLE!!!! For what? $421/ a month to support myself & TWO children? This is unbelievable.

My employer uses Aerotek to get temps at various times, so I've spent a fair amount of time working…read morewith the people Aerotek sends us. Most of the people we get are about what you'd expect in a temp -- they need a paycheck and may or may not be a match for the job. Aerotek, like any temp agency, gets paid for putting people in jobs. So they don't much care whether the people are qualified or even motivated to try. Every day with a temp at an employer is another dollar in Aerotek's pocket. And this dollar does not come out of the employer's share of the pay for the position. It comes from the temp's share, which is one reason temp pay is so low that they qualify for food stamps. My personal annoyance with Aerotek is that they lie to the temps. I worked with temps from Aerotek, and they all said the same thing. Aerotek told them they would work 90 days, then the company would put them on the payroll at the normal pay rate, with benefits. Temp-to-hire. But that simply is not true where I work. We have a union contract, which dictates how employees move among available jobs. Temps may be hired, but only if no union employee wants the job that is open. Most of the time, temps that are hired start as utility workers on lousy shifts, and are not automatically hired into the position where they worked as a temp. In fact, the vast majority of temps are never hired. We use them as seasonal help, then cut them loose. Occasionally one or two make the payroll if we need employees. Most do not. And those hired, as I said, start as utility workers on undesirable shifts. It would be better if companies would hire their own employees. This would result in the new employees getting the actual wage being offered for their position, without a third hand (Aerotek) in the till siphoning off a living wage and turning it into a lot of sweat for not much money and no benefits.

After that I went back to Aerotek again, got a great job, that company hired me on, 2yrs later the company transferred my entire dept to another state and this is where the 1 star rating comes in. I contacted Aerotek and got placed with Adam C. as my recruiter. He said theyll have no problem placing me, I have such a high standing with them, nothing but positive reviews from my past experience with them , etc. I gave him my criteria for a job (as thats what you do), he comes back "no problem" , then I here nothing from him. Finally he gets back to me with one job offer that is not even close to what I was looking for. Weeks go by and NOTHING. I email him several times, I leave voicemails. FINALLY, he calls me back, sounding like he rolled out of bed. I ask if something has happened that he doesn't want to work with me. He says no, that I'm a high priority for them as I do so well. That was back in October 2019!!! Im still waiting Adam C. I emailed several times, called and even reached out last week. (This is now February 2020) 4 months later!! I am already employed I simply wanted to see what his excuse would be. I recieved on my own, 3 job offers that fit my criteria perfectly! And I have been working with one of those companies since December 2019. Adam C. im not sure if it was lazyiness but you missed a great opportunity with me. I never called off, showed up on time and even worked overtime when asked during my temp-hire with Aerotek. Aerotek use to be great! Now, I wouldnt recommend them. Atleast not the Lancaster location.

I even had to message my recruiter personally who set up an interview for me and failed to give me the job location until 20 minutes before the interview as well as my login credentials until I requested them (again) ..I did not know who was the recruiter and who was the job seeking employee. Unparalleled unprofessionalism. & the list goes on, that's besides the point the head recruiter kiana when not told what she likes to hear feels "triumphant" in leaving a voicemail stating that they're going to block your number. Much like an angry teenage girl would. Even after you've efficiently thought you ended the conversation would in an adult manner by telling her to have a nice day. You would think that would tell the person you were ending your service with them, but I'm not sure what you do when a woman that's half your senior in age insists on having the last word.‍ Completely unprofessional, Along with not picking up the phone with a receptionist that's right next to it. First and last time using a temp agency and this is one to avoid if you'd rather save your time & go to one of a more professional demeanor such as Aerotek or Tristarr for example, from what I hear. But I thought I'd give them a chance and it was an unsavory one at that. This is from an unbiased stand point prior to this experience but it was most definitely a lasting one. Save your time once again folks
