He took the time to talk through everything with me and even had a specialist come in to discuss how they safely manage patients with sleep apnea during sedation. That bedside discussion really helped put me at ease and made me feel confident moving forward. On the day of surgery, the entire team was incredibly professional and reassuring. I remember getting the IV and oxygen, and then the next thing I knew the procedure was finished. I vaguely remember hearing voices toward the end, but I don't even recall waking up--it just felt like I was suddenly there again. The surgeon and staff were outstanding and made what I expected to be a stressful experience extremely smooth and comfortable. Every time I call with questions "which was a lot" they have always been helpful and courteous. I was very pleased with my results back in 2016 which was a TT, muscle repair and Lipo. I have scheduled to finally have a breast augmentation done in the Spring by Dr. Swanson. One thing I admire is the doc is professional, safe, kind, patient and very skilled at what he does. My scar is very low and tummy flat. I didn't like my Belly Button and Dr. Swanson wanted to make sure I was happy so he fixed it when I came back in for Lipo on my back and arms the following year. The extraction and implant went very well, and I was very happy with the care I received from him. Unfortunately, my experience with the office staff was very different. I was understandably nervous and had several questions about the procedure, insurance estimate, paperwork and follow-up scheduling. I frequently felt rushed or as though my questions were an inconvenience rather than something they were willing to explain. My dentist made this appointment for me, and the only information I received beforehand was an automated text. I wasn't given a link to complete paperwork online, yet when I completed it at the office I was told that I could have done it online. I wouldn't have known where to find it. I was also concerned about the consent process. I signed several items electronically and asked for a copy of what I had signed. I was shown a laminated consent form that did not appear to contain all of the same wording I had just seen electronically, and when I asked for a copy of the electronic version, I was told that it was electronic and therefore they couldn't give me a copy. I intend to request it through the office in writing. Overall, I would absolutely recommend the surgeon based on my experience with him. I just wish the rest of the patient experience had reflected the same level of patience and communication, particularly with someone who was clearly nervous about having oral surgery.
