Over a year ago, I was frustrated by our home and mortgage situation. Like so many others, we owed too much on our home, had an outrageous interest rate and was outgrowing the bedrooms quickly. I was expecting our second child and out of nothing but interest one day I searched real estate for my "dream" home. One of the first homes that poped up was a shortsale property, 3 bedroom home, 5 acres and a swimming pool. I immediately jumped into the car and drove 10 minutes down the highway, and up the driveway. Opening the gate I knew in my heart, in my soul that this was it, our future home. It was in horrible condition, leaking roof, rats running around inside the windows. The pool was green and bubbling and the 80ft redwood trees were browning. But how, how could we possibly get into this home when we cannot sell our current, we have only one income and much of the time my husband is between jobs. Out of curiosity I called the listing agent to ask about the price. We talked breifly, and the most valuable thing I obtained from that conversation was the phone number of Mary Frink from Summit Funding. Dreaming, I put my daughter down for her nap and immediately dialed Mary's number. Within all of about 20 minutes, Mary was confident that she could get us into that home. It was a long road, we placed many offers and lost 3 of them while working with shady real estate agents and higher bidders. All the while Mary was calling weekly, checking in via email and staying current with our situation so that if by some chance we had another shot at our dream home, she was ready move quickly. She remained positive but reminded me everything happens for a reason, if it's meant to be it will be. One day I drove by our dream home and noticed it had been months but still nobody had moved in. I called the agent one last time to check, she turned me down and abrubtly just said, "sold". A week later I wrote her one last time giving her a new offer price begging her to dig deeper. She called back and said the loan of the buyer fell through, we had another chance! Mary picked up the phone with half a ring and was elated, because of her diligence we were prepared to make an offer and close quickly. We placed our offer, won the bid and moved into our home a month later. Mary impressed me on so many levels it's difficult to put into words. She is professional, stern when neccessary, friendly, honest and above all else...knowledgable. She never made promises she couldnt keep, and yet all the promises she did make, were rock solid! Honestly Mary was working at times as both my real estate agent and my mortgage broker. She just wanted to make it happen and she did. She was a human with dedication, not just a sales person looking for a paycheck, she was invested in our dreams alongside us. We found amazing tenants for our previous home and couldnt be happier to be a homeowner of two homes in this economy.
