In 2011, I had the unfortunate luck of being caught amidst the first and only criminal case I've ever had to face in my adult life. Afraid of all the unknowns that came with being in a situation like the one I was in, I turned to family for legal referrals. A cousin had referred me to a personal friend that was also a defense attorney. An attorney whose retainer fee was outrageous, but with confidence my cousin assured me "you get what you pay for" and that he was the best. To my disappointment that was not the case. I was very emotional and more often than not ended up in tears when dealing with any of these legal matters even with simple phone conversations. While strong and assertive in court, Mr. Davidson was sensitive to that. He was gentle when speaking with me with anything that related to my case. I also had the opportunity of Collin Moore filling in at one of my hearings. He was very polite, prepared, and upheld the same level of professionalism that Steve Davidson had set. This firm has restored my faith that there are good attorneys out there that care about the client and not just your wallet. I was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol some months back. Had only two beers, but close enough in time to raise my BAL just above the limit, around 0.1 at the time of arrest. Ultimately, the reading was 0.09 at final in-house test, still above the limit. I had a spotlessly clean record, both criminal and traffic, was cooperative with the police, and passed the field sobriety tests, but was still exposed to conviction of a full DUI charge. I contacted Summit after making several calls to local firms to get consultation, and inquire about pricing. Summit was the only firm who's fees were not only reasonable, but were flexible enough to take my payments in installments. I had just started a new position, and they were understanding enough to work with me. I worked with Ryan McHugh from the Burlingame, CA. office. I owe a big thank you to criminal defense attorney Collin Moore. I was accused of domestic violence......which is completely crazy because I am the victim. The truth is it really wasn't much of fight and I really didn't think it would be considered to be domestic violence when I called the police.
