Today, the drive-thru opened late...waaaay late, and put every store manager (taking their morning deposit) seriously behind schedule. This is not the first time I, and other customers, have had to wait for this bank and/or drive-thru to open on time. When the bank is (successfully) opened, the tellers seem to be comfortable moving at a comfortable and casual pace...for them. The entire customer service experience just lacks -- tremendously. Unfortunately, my company has chosen this bank for our commercial account. But, I can always make my recommendations...to go elsewhere.

Please do not, under any circumstances, do business with Simmons Bank. And, if you currently do, I…read morestrongly urge you to move to another bank. Otherwise, you could find yourself in dire financial straits. Here's just one reason why. After recently being diagnosed with heart failure and having surgery, all of which sidled me with thousands of dollars in medical bills even with insurance, my financial situation has become such that I needed assistance keeping everything afloat as I pay down debt while still being able to buy groceries and life-saving prescription medications. To that end, I reached out to Simmons Bank and requested lower interest or lower minimum monthly payments on my bank-issued credit card until I can get some of the medical bills paid off, which would free up funds to get back to making regular payments at regular interest rates on my Simmons credit card. However, instead of working with me, Simmons immediately closed my account without notification and with no adjustment to the interest or my payments. The result is now having a balance of hundreds of percent above my available credit, which is going to destroy my credit score. This could lead to further financial hardship should I need to seek new employment to better my financial situation, as credit is considered in hiring in many of the better-paying fields. All of this is to say that, in times of need, customers who reach out to Simmons Bank to try to do the right thing (i.e., working to ensure Simmons receives 100% of their principal and at least some if not all of their interest), rather than just filing for bankruptcy or otherwise abandoning their obligations, could instead find themselves met with incredibly damaging responses from Simmons. For your own sake, please do not bank with Simmons. I don't want anyone else to have to go through what they've put me through. The level of stress I'm being put through, seemingly out of malice, is the last thing I needed in my current condition.

I wish I could give a "0" rating for Simmons Bank Administration…read more My issue: A few days before Christmas, I had a long-standing checking account that I had opened with Metropolitan Bank 20+ years ago closed and money taken out of my other checking account, which has caused me a lot of financial problems. This was done because I was two days late completing the fresh start agreement/repayment plan in the amount of $919 on the account, which would have allowed me to pay the negative balance back over a 12-month period, something I have done many, many times with no problems. Each year, I would use my overdraft privileges in December on the now-closed account to help buy Christmas presents for my children and grandchildren. However, this past year, I had to use the overdraft in November due to a major car repair issue. I missed by two days completing the fresh start agreement so that I could pay off my overdraft account. Simmons chose to enact their "right to set off" by taking money out of my other Simmons Bank account, creating an overdraft, money that was designated for bills, medication, doctor bills, etc. Never once did I intend to let this happen. My history with the bank and that account speaks for itself. I simply misjudged the 60 days allowed to complete the fresh start agreement with me using the overdraft in November instead of December. In addition, my primary account had been compromised on December 21 with fraudulent activity, I had sickness, as well as a family death, I simply was late getting to the bank. In fact, I actually went to the bank on December 24 to complete the fresh start agreement, but the manager I needed to see was working at another branch that day and I therefore decided to come back the day after Christmas. I was not aware that December 23 was the 60th day, but had I completed the paperwork on December 24, I could have had the pending closure reversed. I pleaded with several bank employees to reconsider but was told that once an account had been closed, NOTHING could be done. Then one bank person said that the "back office" does not like to complete the paperwork necessary to reinstate an account. My branch manager did go to bat for me, reaching out to the person at Simmons who could have overturned this action and straightened out this matter. But, he told me that the person who actually is the only one who could reinstate my account, refund me my money, and allowed me to complete the fresh start agreement, refused to do so. It's a shame that people would rather choose their "arrogance and power" over helping a long-term customer. This person's refusal tells me that Simmons Bank could care less about its customers. Because of the person who could have reopened my account chose not to do so, which would have given me my $919 back that was taken from my other account, allowing me to meet my financial obligations as well as do the fresh start agreement refusal to not do anything, I am suffering financially.
