The farmers were knowledgeable and friendly teens/young adults. They were very sweet to the children and ensured that all the kids could pet the baby goat born that week. The best part of our visit was being followed around by Dolly, a goat that roamed the premises, scavenging for leftover corn and dropped treats.

Over the years, we've done apple, strawberry, and blueberry picking here, but the fall pumpkin festival is the best. There are tons of activities for the little ones - hayrides, a corn maze, farm animals, and more. Tubby's BBQ is on-site if you need lunch. The line can be long, but it moves quickly. It is on the pricier side, but well worth it. The farm is beautiful, the experience is fun, and it's a wonderful way to get the kids outdoors.

Pulling up on a fall day, it is quite literally pretty as a picture. We actually walked to pumpkin patch however you CAN take a tractor ride (you can bet we took one back). There is such an abundance of varieties that it felt like every few feet I was finding a new one that I HAD to take home. Which, resulted in a VERY full wagon. While getting onto the tractor, you're helped to place your pumpkins inside for their ride back to be paid for and taken home. I'm a NY native with the gift of gab, and the gentleman giving us the ride was very genuine and seemed so truly happy to be doing what he was doing. So I had to ask- "are you the new owner?!" With a smile he told me yes and I complimented him and wished him the best of luck on this endeavor, I truly find it SO satisfying when I find people giving life to agriculture. While placing our pumpkin babies in the wagon to pay, I dented on. He very kindly followed us and insisted it be free. I couldn't help but then spend MORE money, so we purchased three mums. A overflowing wagon of pumpkins and three HUGE mums, only $88! What a pleasurable time, what a reasonable price, and what lovely people to be giving my money to. It ended up being $10 which we didn't know until we were already inside the lot. Then we had to wait for the tractor tram to take us to the side door which had a lot of dust. I ended up using a napkin to cover my nose so I wouldn't breathe it in. There is an admission fee which is $10 per person then inside, there was no map so we peed in a porta potty. I had a good time looking at the horses, cows, pigs, and goats. They were super close up and the opportunity to see such a view is very rare. The carnival games were very expensive, Ferris wheel was $6 per person and there is a fee to buy a card to allow you to ride the rides, and there is a credit card convenience fee for every purchase. A corn dog was $8 and also had a cc fee. The lines for each ride was about 20-30 minutes. I usually go to the Howard county fair which was way cheaper. They had free parking, rides were only $2 per person on the Thursday I went, and admission fee was cheaper.

By the time I left there were lines of cars stretching for miles in each direction trying to get into the fair. They had rides galore. Like there was at least like 4 different rides that resembled Tilt-O-Whirls. There was funnel cake, bbq, popcorn, nuts and everything else you'd expect to be a at a large fair. And then there was the animals section. Hundreds of animals that included, but was not limited too: sheep, cows, goats, rams, horses, donkeys, geese, turkeys, pigs, and more. A special baby animal tent where you could see animals that had recently been born. A swath of of educational farming activities and exhibits. I mean, it was surely a farmers dream. The 4H kids there were competing and showing their animals. An experience that I have never had before. Ever seen someone bring out a goat by holding it's head and trot it around for a judge to see what pedigree it was. It was like a dog show but with cows and goats and what not. They had a small beer garden at one end of the fair where I was able to try a "Feed The Monkey" beer which, as expected, had subtle notes of banana and burnt sugar. And to top it off, the Amish were there, selling their amazing pretzels, whoopie pies, and more. One thing is for sure; People in Frederick are serious about their fairs.

This farm offers fun activities for all ages ranging from a labyrinth, bamboo forest, etc. I purchased lavender oil, which smells heavenly and is completely pure. We visited during the early season for the lavender, so we didn't get to see as many lavender plantss in full bloom. However, there were some lavender plants that were bursting with vibrant color. The only drawback is that with flowering plants, bees are around. Thankfully in this farm the bees are more interested in the lavender plants than the visitors. As long as you leave them alone, you won't be bothered. Just beware of the gnats. Can't escape them ;)
