Summer's Farm is a huge place and perfect for kids to go to during the fall/ Halloween time. They also have the sunflower festival in which you can catch the tractor/ hay ride to cut out some flowers. I don't particularly like this area because it's always so many bees and also slim picking depending on when you go. Beyond that they have several activities for kids to do and you could stay for hours with different photo ops, the petting zoo, the big bounce area, the zip line, tug of war, the goat race and many more. They even have fireworks on select nights. The place is pretty big and we can never finish everything in one day because it's a lot of walking lol. Nevertheless it's well worth the money , customer service is good, and it is a lot to do. I would recommend taking better care of the petting zoo because it really wasn't kept as well as I would've liked it to be. Side note: There was an incident in which an elderly woman fell while I was there. I would like to commend the staff for how much care and support they gave her to make sure she was OK. read more

Fun day out in beautiful almost fall weather! My friend and I came for their Teacher Appreciation Weekend event. The general admission charge was waived for teachers and one guest. That was quite generous! Parking was easy and plentiful. Included in the freebies was six pick your own blooms from their sunflower field or zinnia patch. The farm is filled with activities for kids to explore such as jumping pillows, mega slides, rope mazes, and flying pig zip lines to names a few. There are other things adults can partake in such as the corn maze (short and long paths), corn hole, and of course the wagon ride to the pumpkin patch (not ready when we were there) and the sunflower fields. We didn't eat, but there's a barnyard grill, pizza, kettle corn and apple cider donuts for sale. We missed the scheduled pig races. It was a fun day in the sun. read more

They moved locations this year and it's a bit hillier than it used to be. It is still very fun and they do fireworks Friday and Saturday nights. The one night we went it was too windy for them to do the fireworks and they were able to refund us which is nice. read more

It had become tradition for my family to visit Butler's Orchard, but then we heard from colleagues about this place. A bit of a drive for us, but on a nice weekend morning, here we drove for the fall festival. Came here with a group of friends to celebrate fall festivities and it was a nice experience! The farm is great for families as there are about 45 activities to do around the farm including a corn maze, pumpkin patch, pig race, bonfire... My friends and I rented a bonfire pit for 4 hours for ~$80. Our fire kept burning out quickly but maybe that was our own fault ‍I would suggest bringing your own food if you have a spot in the bonfire area so your group can enjoy your own picnic! The food they sell at the farm is overpriced and the wait to receive the food was pretty long (~15 mins?). read more

I visited for the first time today. The prices were reasonable, but most of the concession stands were closed (I arrived at 2p). The staff were exceptionally nice and very helpful. It would be nice if there were a few more signs/arrows telling you where things were. I will be back. I was VERY disappointed that 90% of the concessions were closed. If you have small children (under 5 years old) I would strongly recommend NOT taking them to Summers Farm. They do not prioritize the safety of the children. My son was hurt last year and he got hurt this year as well. They have two areas where children can bounce on air cushions with one area marked off for little children under 48" tall. They also had two teenage staff there to I would think enforce that pretty straightforward rule so that large kids don't mix with small kids. However, they either were not trained properly, or Summers Farm were negligent in selecting staff too afraid or too lazy to enforce this simple rule. You would think a business at the very least would prioritize safety to reduce their liability if nothing else. But no, even after I carried my crying son over and asked them why 120+ lb 5ft tall kids were allowed to play with 30 lb toddlers they were like "uhhh I don't know I guess uhh". Teenage staff too afraid to enforce simple rules should be retrained or giving other roles more suited for their meek temperament. That was only the nail in the coffin. They also had zero staff by the slides while I was there and zero staff by the corn silos. Teens where hurling handfuls of of corn at little kids. This was supposed to a fun outing and I shouldn't have to police other kids' behavior when this organization can afford to hire/train more staff so that PREVENTABLE injuries do not occur. Oh and the response from staff was that "this is a busy day with all the school groups" etc. Folks. There were 6-8 children in the little kid area not 50. Excuses are a convenient way to placate parents and pass the blame, but what they need is to step up their staff. read more

Traffic is awful. Waiting over an hour to do the last mile. Trash everywhere. Parking was a nightmare SO expensive when no one checks if you've actually paid. Food line was so long and our food was cold and overpriced. Old location was better and no traffic. Middletown can't handle the traffic and doesn't have the infrastructure. The move was a nightmare and we will not be returning. Sure they don't are about 1 family but I urge you to not go to this farm. read more

Wholesome fun! I went to see the sunflowers on Labor Day weekend. Best decision ever. The flowers are plentiful in height, color and variety. So are the bees. Bring a sun hat and sunscreen. Pro trip...go to Michaels and buy the same pales and jars for flower clippings. Afterwards, check out the entertainment area. I was too busy running around messing with everything I forgot to take photos. It's perfect for a picnic!! They have a real wood fire grill, wine and beer. Of course hotdogs and pop. The icecream man had got there as we were leaving. Jumpy house, cool swings, kid zip line, epic slide, petting zoo, a few carnival games. Plenty of seating. They had a live musician singing and playing his guitar. My heart was sold. The views are amazing and Walmart (potty break) is up the street if you forget anything. So make it a whole day. And go on a date or just go play. I'll probably go back to the pumpkin patch. For the vibes. Hopefully they have a haunted maze and warm fall foods... read more

We so love this place. It became our go-to destination for fall/Halloween fun several years ago when another popular orchard, much closer to DC, became way too overrun and congested to be enjoyable. We almost gave up on fall farm fun entirely, but then decided to give Summers farm a shot and we're so glad we did. We had many wonderful experiences at the old Summers farm location but after a while even that one started to feel a bit crowded, as word of mouth spread that it was logistically easier than navigating the ones closer to DC. But then they moved to a new location, only about 5-10 minutes further out for us, and there they have tons of growing room. Now there is no feeling of crowdedness at all. Yesterday we had our run of the place, enjoying our favorite activities over and over, never having to stand in line for anything. Among our favorites: the "Flying Pigs," basically kind of a miniature low-tech zipline close to the ground. This year they had it rigged up better than ever, we were able to get more speed without scraping ground. We still love the ring game where you try to get a small ring dangling from a string to catch on a hook. We still love the ducky races, powered by frantically pumping water. The corn mazes are great (though we usually wimp out and just do the short one). We love the pillow bounce, the various other mazes, the slides, the basketball/baseball/football tosses, the pumpkin train caravan, the wagon ride to the pumpkin patch and so much more. We think the food is good, too. Word to the wise: the pizza counter is around the corner from the main sandwich counter and usually there's no line there. Also make sure you buy some cider donuts and cookies at the sweets shop. We also had our first apple cider slushies yesterday and found them refreshing on a warm, sunny day. We recommend going there early in the fall season (like we did yesterday), to beat the crowds and also before the pumpkin patches are picked over. This year we found tons of great pumpkins to choose from out in the vines, but if we hadn't, they had several gorgeous ones pre-picked and sitting by the check-out area. We also think the staff are also very nice and polite. It's also a better deal price-wise than the places closer to DC. Anyway, whenever autumn rolls around, we immediately think of Summers Farm, and of all the treasured family memories we have generated there. read more

We enjoyed our time at the farm, even under COVID conditions! They have timed entry hours, and even 4 hours after our arrival, we felt quite comfortable with the constant ability to spread out. There are hand sanitation stations everywhere, people were predominantly masked, and socially distanced. We were never crowded. Parking was easy and plentiful. Ticketing was efficient as we displayed our purchased tickets on our phone and were given our bracelets upon entry. The port-o-johns that we utilized were clean and spread throughout. The acreage is just right, so you're not walking extensive distances. A toddler can perfectly go around on foot the whole way without needing a stroller. Friendly and courteous staff everywhere. Food prices were very reasonable. Our lemonade was tasty, kettle corn fresh, the cotton candy (am I imagining this?) tasted like cinnamon apple which caught me by surprise. Our hot dog was hot, and while our fries were plentiful, they were cold. Their apple cider donuts were very tasty. Unfortunately, they weren't sold hot, but pre-packaged which was fine. We had fun watching the pig races, playing the various activities, visiting the farm animals. Our favorite part was being able to ride a tractor and to get driven out to their actual pumpkin patch where you picked your pumpkin right off the vine. (I didn't realize how prickly the stems are with your bare hand, so I had to get creative to break the pumpkin off.) You stay on the field for about 20 minutes where the tractor comes back to drop off new visitors and picks up the field visitors with their fresh pumpkins. All in all, a great time! My son and I had been making the rounds at all of the open fall festivals, and this was the last one we checked out, about 2 weeks before Halloween. I was appreciative of the fact that there were hand sanitizing stations everywhere, the port-a-potties were relatively clean, and there was a dedicated barn to change diapers, nurse, etc. They have the typical farm animals, lots of photo ops spread throughout the farm, and a couple tractors to sit on. They had a sand area (no trucks like other farms), a football/basketball/baseball toss, a ninja obstacle course, and a few slides. The pumpkin train was also an option, which we did, but the line was very long. They have a zipline, duck races, mini mazes, and more. The corn bin was closed due to COVID. They also offer wagon rides to the pumpkin patch. I noticed no social distancing on the wagon so we passed. The food options here were better than other festivals. Wood-fired pizza, bbq, and of course the usual suspects. There was nothing particularly wrong with this festival, but after visiting Gaver Farms, there's just a certain bar set that will be hard to beat. read more

This was our first year going to summer's for the fall festival and it did not disappoint! We were only disappointed in us for not arriving earlier! Pros -offers so much for what you pay for admission. Slides, zip line, corn huts, swings, hay ride, play structures, bouncing area.. -I saw at least five tractors driving a huge load of folks around so even though the line may look long it goes by pretty fast -tons of food options around the whole ground -able to rent a fire pit for the evening -animals were all so happy looking! I know weird for me to say it but every time I've been to a petting zoo all the animals looked miserable. The baby goats and mama's! So happy they were all together and bouncing around. We were obsessed! Great fun facts about the animals were a bonus. We saw bees making honey, baby chicks, cows, donkeys, sheep.. You get the point -beautiful fireworks at night!! Great show to end the day -accepts credit cards for entry -very organized for parking and had animals to remember which lane you parked at lol which was helpful at 8pm -gets pretty dark after sundown, I recommend bringing a flashlight and some glow sticks for the kids Cons -wish they had a few more portable bathrooms further into the farm. Walking or should I say running across the farm for one was not fun -could offer more warm drinks like hot chocolate or coffee -the store was very small and tight -wish they had more lighting sources once it got dark, was very hard to see You really get what you pay for! There is tons to do for everyone in your family from the wee-est to the oldest. Me and the 21-year-old had a blast on the gigantic inground trampoline. We also enjoyed the pig races. The hayride was so much fun. We bought tons of pumpkins to make jack-o'-lanterns at home, and of course we have the country store on the way out. There's also tons and tons of good stuff to eat. Cute and tons of fun, but ends weirdly early on all days but Saturday and Sunday. Summer's Farm Adventure is basically a place to go do silly fall stuff. It's got a corn maze, various fall-themed games, various food booths, and the like. Really, though, you'll want to come here for the corn maze - it's the main attraction, for better or worse. All of the staff are friendly and fun, even with my group (which was, at that point, largely intoxicated). My group really enjoyed our time here, but found ourselves having to leave earlier than expected. On our trip on Sunday, the place closed at 7 - a hair early, especially on the weekend. I understand that week hours will be different than weekend hours, but we enjoyed ourselves so much that we'd have normally stayed much longer! read more

Definitely do bring your own food if you want to avoid costs. My favorite part of the event was the firework show at night starting at 7:30PM. They do an amazing job with the light show! Last year was our first year going to Summers. We throughly enjoyed it so we decided to take our 3 year old back again this year. Unfortunately we will not be back for a while. We drove over an hour and got to the traffic light to turn into Summers. We then waited 50 minutes to go less than 2 miles to the farm. Parking was a nightmare once we did get in. We paid $60 for all 3 of us to enter only to find that we missed the last hayride at 6 becuase of the traffic waiting to enter. No big deal... we took our son on some other attractions only to have a problem with some older kids running up and down the slide without any supervision. We couldn't jump on the jumping bag becuase it was beyond overcrowded. My husband wanted a drink so we went to the concession stand only to be told they are closed until after the fireworks and we would have to try the Silo Snacks which also had a horrendous line. Trash was everywhere as well and it was hard to see once it got dark in several areas. The only fun we had was the fireworks which were great. Traffic leaving was just as bad as going in as they had police directing traffic. I'm hoping they can improve and we can return in a few years. read more

We were looking for a fun fall festival to take the grandkids for the day. This place is amazing! They had TONS of activities for all kid ages. They had several activity courses, two large trampoline areas (one for little kids and one for the bigger kids), duck races, pig races, magicians, clowns, music, etc. In addition they had two tractors pulling trailers taking groups to & from the pumpkin patch to pick your own pumpkin ($0.60/pound). There were several food stands throughout the facility, picnic tables to sit, and the portable toilets were located throughout, too. On Friday and Saturday evenings they do fireworks (we didn't stay that late). They have a large field for parking which is well organized and clearly marked so you can find your car at the end of the day! My ONLY criticism is that children over age 2 have to pay full adult price. We brought a 2 year old and a 4 year old. They were worn out before they could possibly do everything. Paying $14 for the 4 year old was a bit high. But the place was packed so obviously the price didn't discourage anyone from coming! We just finished our 4th annual visit to Summer's Farm. Every year is better than the last. We love going in the evening. Playing in the corn maze in the dark is fun! The fireworks are a wonderful experience. I highly recommend planning your trip so that you can enjoy them. Allow yourself 4-5 hours to enjoy everything without feeling rushed, and don't forget to bring your camera. There are tons of fun opportunities for pics. I am here right now and writing this review. Worst experience getting in and parking. It's backed up for hour and a half, hay ride ends at 6 and it took as one and a half hour just to get in the parking. We have been coming here for many years and this is absolutely last time. We drive from Rockville to here but not anymore, there are other farms with better arrangements for parking and are cheaper. Fix your packing issues as kids feel punished to do pumpkin patch and do joy enjoy sitting in the car, it's very expensive too. Others there is butlers orchard, homestead you can visit. Don't waste a beautiful weekend day sitting in the car to get into their parking lot read more

This is my favorite of the fall pumpkin patches (though actually, the pumpkin patch is probably my least favorite part). The best thing about this place is the "jumping pillow"--basically a gigantic in-ground moonbounce, which adults can use (flinging children skyward with abandon). They also have rows of slides on the sides of 2 big hills, with some type of slippery surface and hay bales on either side of each slide. There is a sand pit-type area filled with dried corn, which the kids love. There is also a large corn maze. And people say the apple cider donuts are the best (though I have yet to try one). read more

We have been coming to Summers Farm for years and it has always been one of our favorite farm festivals. However, after going today, we will never be back. As other reviewers have mentioned the parking is awful. On top of that they were so short staffed the lines to get food were out of control. The line for donuts was at least 50 people long all throughout the day. The jumping pillows weren't properly supervised and there were way too many wild kids at a time. read more
