I told her I wanted some white roses and carnations; she said she had no white roses at the moment, but that some beautiful orange roses had just come in. Beautiful they were! I asked her to use her judgement and put together an arrangement based on those orange roses. The result was beautiful: Sam's sense of colour and design was impeccable. More importantly, she paid as much attention to the little details (like paper and ribbon colours) as to the flowers themselves. My friend sent me a photo of the arrangement when it was delivered. I couldn't believe my eyes! it wasn't nearly as nice or as full as the $45 arrangement. I complained but got a nonsensical response: you really can't tell from that photo, we used nicer flowers and more filler, yada yada... They probably think you'll never know what they sent and that was true in the past. But today with camera phones it's easy to get a photo of the arrangement and know exactly what was sent. Sad to think some businesses will rip off their customers like this. I do not recommend this florist.

It had been a long trip for her, she was in the final leg of it and I knew she was getting worn down. Knowing her hotel and talking with the front desk I felt a little floral arrangement would perk her spirits up a little, they gave me all the information I needed, except one thing. Where do I get the flowers from!? I partook of Yelp, Canadian style of course, and spied the barren reviews. Until I saw Carrie P's talk of " "funkiest" floral arrangements". The thing is, all these other flower shops web sites, were... well bland. Boring. Cookie cutter. Nothing brought my attention and made me want to say, "Yes! Yes! I want to go here!" Well... guess what? Purple Orchid's website blew me away. So unique, so different, so perfect. I knew I had found the one. I called up the store the day before my girlfriend was to arrive at the hotel, hoping they could do something. The woman couldn't have been nicer. Trying to get an idea of exactly what I wanted: colors, flowers, any specifics I wanted and she could think of, I was excited, but what would the recipient think of them? I eagerly awaited a phone call the next day, a text, email... anything! At one point I just needed a nap. I curled up and when I woke up forty minutes later, I had my answer.
