I heard about Summer Gift Fair by chance, through one of the small businesses that was exhibiting, and went on to the organizer's website to check them out. It turned out that it was taking place at the Conrad Hotel, a building I can see from my desk. So convenient!
As I finished work for the day I headed to the Ballroom in the hotel and got there by 6pm, possibly one of the peak times. It was busy, but there was plenty of room for you to look around the stalls quite comfortably. They were laid out in two rooms showing a mix of items categories: accessories, beauty, children, gourmet foods, healthy snacks, jewellery, fashion...As I got there I got a tissue bag for free (to be filled with the goodies, surely) and started browsing around. Two stalls called my attention: 'Anything But Salads' that sells healthy snacks and a shoe shop 'Spanish Shoes HK'. I talked to both of them about their businesses, their products...such interesting entrepreneurs and initiatives! All in all, it seemed like a great platform for small businesses and start ups to show their products to a wide audience.
If you didn't know about this fair, here's some good news: Prestige Events, the organizer, holds a few fairs through the year, next coming one is 'Gift, Style and Christmas' in November and December. As with the Summer one, admission is free and the venue remains the same. Already getting excited! read more
