Serhat, was the gentleman who spoke English and helped translate my request to the owner. We came by two nights later for the dinner, and we were wonderfully surprised with the quality of service, hospitality, and the food. The atmosphere and the views of this Restaurant from the ongoing traffic on the Kennedy way, and the sea beyond is incredible. The service was in par with some of the highest and classiest restaurants that I have visited in both New York and Los Angeles. The staff are extremely polite and attentive. I had ordered flowers from a flower shop to be delivered to the restaurant for my fiancé, thinking that I would be there in time to pay for them. Unfortunately, we were late by 20 minutes. However, the restaurant had paid for the flowers, on my behalf. Which I greatly reimbursed them for. It was a great gesture of service. The quality of food was excellent definitely try their seafood appetizer in olive oil as well as the variety of the appetizers that they have available for you. The portions of the main dishes are enough for two people. We tried the Seabass and it was cooked perfectly. It was juicy and full of flavor. The price for this level of Services is in par with a high-quality restaurant. So expect to spend anywhere between $50-$150 per person, depending on what you want to order. You will not be disappointed with either service, food, or the ambience.

I have occasionally tried the coffee shops by Moda -mostly the ones by Moda Pier because I miss the sea-, but they all tend to be very busy with mediocre music and stressed staff, even in the weekdays. Mambocino is not like that. Every time I float around first by the pier and come back to here to work. As for coffee, they serve have African South/Central American blends. The staff is very honest on what they suggest and not. Some coffee shops just advertise exotic blends just because they sound cool, these guys are not like that. Also, music is good here, did I mention? Lavender latte is quite good.

The coffee is good, the atmosphere is relaxed, the music is good and the staff is really friendly. They always find a way to make you feel welcome over there! The menu is, of course, not limited to coffee. They make really good tea, cakes and sandwiches too. The prices are not high and the service is really great. Try latte and it will come with a lovely latte art. Try Sultan Kahvesi (Turkish coffee) and it will be served with a fancy coffee set. All these little details make this place special and make you wanna to go there over and over again. The place gives you the feeling that it's a good place for freelancers and book readers, too. They have wireless connection and a bookshelf full of good books like Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy! (My favorite!) So, all in all, if you're looking for a feel good place, there you have it, in Moda!

By our standards, the food was on point and we finished completely satisfied and wanting to return except that we were leaving the next morning. The people working there were warm and on top of their game with even the smallest details. Its also in a great location right off the main drag, and has mostly locals, but is easily accessible for the out-of-towers as well. We ordered an assortment of fish and meat and both were delicious. They also brought out some extras on the house for us to try since we were obviously rookies to the game and they genuinely wanted to introduce us to the cuisine. Unfortunately it can be hard to find places/people like this when you are playing the part of tourist, so definitely hit it up when in Istanbul!
