It is a small store with a lot of inventory. I respect that they are trying to cover their bases with options, but there is a serious feeling of clutter (for me, I am a neat freak, former Army). I'm sure the owners/staff know where everything is, and I will eventually know the things that I want. There are not prices on everything (especially the many beer choices) but the prices seem fair. Of course they won't ever beat Walmart (15 miles away) or other large volume stores. There is a drive up window as well. They have wine, spirits (lots of bourbons), beer, malt drinks, THC type products and other smoking accessories/products. I think it will always be a grab it now kind of option for me.

Let me start off saying, you cannot go wrong buying your meats from their butcher case. If you're…read moregrilling, or entertaining, this is where you want to buy your meats. You'll be thrilled with a Ribeye, Brat or a pound of Ground Beef. Their chicken will even win you over and you'll be talk of the town. Everyone will be talking about your meat. Now, I want to tell you about their hot prepared foods counter. If you are lazy and don't want to cook, come and select from the variety of meats and side dishes. I've enjoyed; Pork Steak, Chicken Breast, Meat Loaf, Ribs and Hamburger. My sides have been, Mac-n-Cheese, Greet Beans, Scalloped Potatoes and Baked Beans. None have been disappointing, except for the cheese on the burger. I was just a cold slice of American Cheese placed on top. I did a little zap in the microwave to get it to melt a little when I got it home. The service is friendly and attentive. The reason they lose a star from me is one employee, is not so friendly. She's middle-aged and has the personality of a wet rag. I cringe when she is the one assisting me at the counter. When assisted by other employees it is an entire different experience. I will return and hope that I do not get the negative lady and hopefully be able to raise them back up to 5 Stars.

As I learn my new hometown, those needs are being fulfilled by new discoveries. I have always enjoyed buying my olive oils and balsamics from small speciality shops. Especially, little mom and pop stores. Their personalized customer service always seems to go a step beyond. I find that to be true here at the, Olive Oil Marketplace. Moving in a pandemic and cooking more at home while restaurants are shut down for eat-in, my inventory of olive oil was getting depleted fast. While I was shopping for furniture across the street, I noticed OOM as I returned to my car. Needing to stock up on olive oil, I popped inside and was pleasantly surprised. Their offerings were as extensive as some of my favorite boutiques in STL, so I felt at ease. The sales associate working that day was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. She asked about my preferences and different things that I liked. She also offered me little samplings to assist me in making my decisions. I was immediately sold on the, Jalapeño Olive Oil. Her letting me sample and sharing her opinion on, Tunisian EVOO sold me. It was so smooth and it was organic, too. In addition to the two bottles of olive oil, I purchased some Italian Herb Balsamic. No kitchen is complete without a bottle of it. While I was checking out, they signed me up for their rewards program. Which is a good thing, because I know I am going to be a regular. Good inventory and customer service is going to keep me coming back. To my surprise, you get a small free bottle on your birthday and since mine was just a day or two away, they honored it. I selected, Hickory Smoked Balsamic. Yum-Yum! When: November 14, 2020 Why: Needed Olive Oil

He's created an atmosphere--and product--that makes me want to stick around awhile. In fact, for our last visit we got carry-out food from an Italian restaurant in town and enjoyed it at MC's bar so we could make an evening of it. The mood in the room is comfortable, with high ceilings, dark wood, and just enough warm lighting. The music is cool; Tracy knows what works in the space and creates a nice vibe. Printed menus are readily available, listing current house beers, guest taps, and can and bottle offerings. They also have a nice cocktail menu featuring house-made cordials and such. And the beer--it's really good! They specialize in oak-fermented ales, and seem to know what they're doing and take pride in their work. A couple farmhouse ales hit the spot on a recent hot day. My fave on the menu was the Orange Peeler saison, and I regret not bringing home some cans (the first beer they've canned, I believe.) They also have some collabs with Perennial Artisan Ales available in bottles; those did come home with us. Another beer that's not currently on the menu, but I enjoyed a few months ago: Fuzzy Guitars, an oak-aged saison with blackberries. There's always something new and interesting here, as well as beers worth coming back to each time. Also a hit for me: the cocktails and mocktails. I chose a cocktail off the menu (the name of it escapes me... something about a worm) that involved tequila, absinthe, vermouth, and... I don't know what else but it was perfectly balanced and lovely to sip. I followed that up with a flavored soda that was also top-notch. Mississippi Culture is hosting events, including live music and trivia nights--I'm looking forward to returning for those soon.
