The highlight was dining at Michelin-stared Ocean. However, the other on-site restaurants are wonderful as well. Vila Vita is a true resort in that you don't really need to leave the premises during your stay. Not only do they have a variety of high end dining options (make reservations in advance!) but they have three pools, a private beach, a mini golf course, tennis, a spa and more. One of the coolest things about staying at Vila Vita is it never felt crowded. In fact, we assumed it wasn't a busy season for the resort, just due to a lack of guests walking around but the staff informed us they were at 95% capacity! Point being, it feels exclusive and there are never crowds. There are paths to walk the grounds and explore. During an exploration we discovered Vila Vita employs Vito, a hawk, who patrols the premises to keep seagulls and other birds from annoying guests and stealing food. Beach access is also very cool, it's a steep, adventurous climb down but once you arrive at the secluded beach area, the views and experience are worth the trip.

The grounds are perfectly maintained, hilly, and sprawling with multiple pools and ocean vistas - each with their own vibe (family, adults, etc.) - restaurants, and scenic walks, including along the oceanside cliffs. Service was spectacular: exceedingly professional and attentive, but also friendly and caring - and patient for a group with 7 adults and 4 kids. Facilities are plentiful, from tennis to golf to the pools to a kids camp to bars to the beach (with its chilly, but rejuvenating May surf). If you have an opportunity to visit, please do so as you won't regret it!

Such a a comfortable and inviting place while we are away from home. It felt as close to home as is possible. We spent time at the beach, which is beyond words. We opted to be picked up from the hotel with a stand up paddle boarding adventure into four different caves, including Benigel. We also enjoyed walking into town, a nice massage at their lovely spa and lounging by the pool. Oh, and one more thing - make sure to add the breakfast, the breakfast buffet is amazing, with an omelette bar, waffle bar, fresh, squeezed, orange juice a great spread of meats, cheeses, and pastries. The bathroom was super small and since the shower door doesn't extend all the way, it was constantly flooded. We had the dinner buffet while we were here and the food here was extremely subpar. It was also very expensive compared to just walking around town (which is safe and nice) to one of the local restaurants. That being said, we also got the included breakfast and the food was very good there, though the same every day. Another nice touch to the breakfast though was that cava / prosecco was included in the breakfast. The pool area was nice, but we were unable to get a seat and therefore unable to use the pool. Another nice touch was that it was connected to a cool hiking path. To get to the beach was maybe a 10 minute walk. It was a similar walk to get to town. Overall, I feel like the room situation was not good enough that I would ever consider returning to this hotel.

Despite this our group had a wonderful time and I'd recommend a stay to anyone looking for a comfortable hotel with many amenities and a stunning view of the coast. Each room had a balcony with a view of the ocean and the stunning cliffs. We also had a mini fridge, microwave and sink area which allowed us to stock up on snacks and drinks. There are standard dishes and flatware in each room. The resort itself has plenty to offer. There's a spa, indoor pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room area which we were thankful for because the temperature was just a little too low to enjoy the beautiful outdoor pool that overlooks the ocean. There's a large grassy area for those looking to sun bathe, but for those of you with more adventure in mind the beach and cliffs are quickly accessible down the hill beside the resort. Our group had a great time clambering around and enjoying the stunning views for an entire afternoon. Watching the sunset with some wine was well worth the climb. The onsite restaurant offers a free breakfast buffet and there's a large selection of foods to choose from. It's my understanding that they get a fair number of UK tourists and so the breakfast here featured some items that were harder to find elsewhere: bacon, sausage, eggs, etc. The dinner selection was a bit pricey for us, but we managed to find a restaurant off site that served some amazing fresh seafood. There's a game room near the bar downstairs that has a pool table and a couple of pinball machines. I have no idea what peak season costs are, but over the winter the prices can't be beat. I'm sure that during the warm summer months the Viking is quite the spot to spend a holiday.

I booked through American Express, and there was no mention of any additional charge for a baby--especially since we didn't request an extra bed. However, the front desk initially said there would be a $35 fee, but they ended up charging $90 without a clear explanation. It felt like they were making up prices on the spot. Although this is supposed to be a 5-star hotel, there was no iron provided, and the hangers were of such poor quality that they almost ruined my silk dress. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience. One more important note: My nephew's shoes were stolen while we were at the hotel's private beach. Please be extra cautious with your belongings. Keep your door locked at all times, and I would advise against requesting housekeeping during your stay.

The food in the main restaurant is good and a wide range of food which changes daily. If you are having dinner prepare yourself to the weird way to order and receiving drinks, from our experience it normally involved three or four staff members.

You only get new Towels once a week, the same as cleaning the hotel room.. so if you come and stay in this hotel bring your own towels. But the hotel lays very nice, not very long to the beach or a mini market. Shopping lays around 30 minutes away from the hotel in car. It's has a fine pool, but you can not get a lounger at all, you have to sit on a chair wait hours to get ONE lounger because people just leave a towel on the lounger and then leave. So people there wanted to use the lounger couldn't!! And the pool was so disgusting, there was leaves in the pool and kids was peeing! But I would not recommend this hotel

If you are expecting a high quality resort you will be sorely disappointed. The place is a concrete jungle with 2 very crowded pool areas. There is no easy access to the beaches from the resort. The "included" food options are sub par and tasteless. The staff is unpleasant if you have a concern or complaint. Most staff do not speak English well and have to call over a manager when the basic pointing and hand signals did not suffice. For instance: we constantly had trouble ordering omelets at breakfast. The internet wifi service is expensive for the value. We were never able to stream Netflix or any show from other streaming services. My son was very disappointed that every game the staff played as a part of the kids club was in French or Portuguese and even the kids game room costs money after the hefty price for our time there. Be Live, Porches is built for people that have never experienced a quality beach side resort and are either not aware of better values or are used to lower standards places like this offer and have accepted this as "good enough".
