We used Sugarplum tent rentals a number of years ago for an outdoor wedding in the backyard of our home in Boyds MD. We were very satisfied with the results, even though a nasty storm forced us to move the ceremony inside and we only used the tent for the reception. They set up and took down the tent on schedule, provided fans (it was August). The tent withstood the monsoon-like storm. I contacted them again this week to get a quote for placing a tent over a rear patio area at a down County venue where we are planning a group event, to expand the usable space due to Covid concerns. I learned from their response that in the spring and fall months, which are peak event season, they now have a minimum charge of $10,000. So if you are having a major event up County, contact Sugarplum, but not for smaller scale family or group events at peak times. read more

Had sugarplum tents for our wedding and had the clear tent! It was beautiful and a crowd stunner. We were worried about rain and so they had plans on last minute notice to possibly tent our ceremony site in addition to the reception site. We ultimately didn't need it and there was no charge. The physical tent was fine, but the service was horrible. The profane language the owner used when talking to the event planner was completely unprofessional and embarrassing for them. They were unresponsive about timing of set-up and take down. With the attitude of the people who run the business, I can't believe anyone works for them. read more

The tent worked well however I have never had such horrible customer service. The owner of the company called us screaming about how unprofessional and unreasonable we were when we asked to delay the take down of the tent a day due to a storm and unsafe working conditions. I have never been treated so poorly by another person in any aspect of my life- professional or personal. I would never use them again. read more
