She was friendly, However I walked out of there with a BURN on my upper lip from wax which was too hot (I don't have sensitive skin either) and my brows were were completely UNEVEN to look at...still, I went back a 2nd time a 2 months later as the location was really convenient for me and again v disappointing eyebrow waxing (from another employee). The shaping was non-existent and worse, I had to WAIT 15 minutes (and I was in a hurry). I have thick brows and after the last debacle I had allowed them to grow back, so I would have though shaping would not be a challenge. Seemingly not so. So I am afraid, I won't be back (at least for waxing.) The location(s) - there's another spin off salon 'The Petite Retreat - are very convenient, and the staff are polite and welcoming. The place is nicely decorated and clean. Getting an appointment at the last minute is difficult, so this is a popular business, apparently. [Perhaps I was just unlucky twice..?] I might go there for nails, or facials in the future, but no thank you for brow shaping or facial hair removal.

When I went to Crystal, she made me feel very comfortable, answered all my questions patiently and indicated exactly what products I'd need and how much it would all cost ahead of having anything done. For those of you who havent done a weave before, this can be a very involved process if you have frizzy African hair like me and I have always hated going to hairdressers but Crystal made the whole process much easier. I have read previews reviews and these are a bit mixed in opinion. My experience was very positive though. Crystal really is the type of person to do anything she can to make you feel comfortable and creates a very relaxed and fun environment around her. She is the type of person to indicate you where you need to go to get the products you need even if it means going to another salon and I think that goes to show she really puts the customer needs first. And thats what I am looking for when I want to have my hair done, someone who will not mess me around and will honestly advice me. The only thing Id say is that Crystal does all the work herself and I think that needs to be taken into account but considering the effort she puts in for every customer, she really does everything she can. The salan was very well decorated, a llittle chic without trying to hard, and certainly not drab by any means. I'd had to rebook three times due to life happening, but they were friendly, helpful and welcoming. I'd had to drive round the block four times before I was able to park. This is the only drawback. I will not take away a star though, I was very happy and pleased and I am not easily impressed by hairdressers. They sorted a problem I've been trying to communicate to my usual hair dresser. Went in to get highlights and a cut…read more I showed Richard two clear pictures of how my hair normally is and he first off started looking for a highlight cap - something that I could have done at home for free! When I suggested he use foils he did, but only highlighted certain areas of my head, I thought I would leave it in the hands of the expert. 30 minutes go by and he started to trim my hair - he took great care in the cut which was great - but was a bit over eager with the clippers and now is shorter than I have ever had before - when I asked to not take much length off the back and sides. I walked out of the salon and saw my reflection in the window - I looked like a zebra - where I normally have golden blonde subtle highlights all over to make my fine hair seem fuller - I had platinum blonde streaks through my hair and no hair on the back of my head. Don't get me wrong - Richard was all about the customer service and he was a pleasure to spend an afternoon with - but I was so unhappy with the results. After washing my hair at home and styling it as I normally would - I drove straight to the supermarket and bought a brown dye to cover it all up. I have a really important weekend this weekend and instead of having a really nice haircut, I'm wishing I hadn't bothered risking a new salon.

Really friendly, affordable and very professional. I have gone to many barbers over the years, and often places that charge considerably more, but they just dont compare to John's and my very astute better half agrees. She's pretty critical of the way my hair looks at times (probably with good reason) but she's very appreciative when I get it done there. It's a small place, that is easy to walk by and miss, and doesnt have the snazzy look of some of the news barber places (there seem to be loads in Salisbury now!), but there isnt usually a wait and the service is second to none.
