They had some small satsumas (also in short supply this year). But the standouts were fall crop tomatoes and a gorgeous large cauliflower. The tomatoes were perfect for Thanksgiving day and I made a caprese salad for the table. And I roasted the cauliflower with olive oil, salt, pepper and parmesan... then dressed with a little lemon juice and parsley. DELICiOUS! I did not find my kumquats and the prices were higher than I expected but the quality was excellent so I'm not complaining. Small stand just before the Belle Chasse Bridge in a shell lot!

This farm has been operating in their current location since 1850. There simply isn't anything that will be able to replace the experience you could have here not to mention nowhere else seems to have boiled peanuts anywhere close to as good as the ones they offered here. This location of their roadside farm produce stand is probably the nearest of the several Becnel fruit stands/markets to the actual farm as it is pretty much on the farm with all the citrus trees around it. They have some general selection of fresh produce and locally produced food items as the other locations but it is nice to see where a lot of the citrus and other produce originates from. This is a nice little road trip to take and see some of the rural areas outside of the urban spaces of Greater New Orleans. I've had the privilege of having all my lifetime 'til now being able to enjoy Becnel farms produce stands and I don't know how to even envision a future where they no longer exist. I've gone through the loss of so MANY of the wonderful and unique things the New Orleans area offered for so many generations that my heart grows heavier with each loss of the wonderous things that are now gone with the wind & tragically ain't dere no more...

Watching the barges go by on the levee is a total dream. Beyond the views, the facility is spotless and clearly well-loved by the staff. It's incredibly spacious, especially the bottom floor it is an old garage turned into a cool, air-conditioned outdoor space. The team here is so welcoming and helpful, too. Even though I'm not from St. Bernard Parish, I'm already looking for an excuse to come back. My kids are going to love this scenery!

The part of the road it's on is lined with big, beautiful trees which almost perfectly obstruct your view so that you can't see the traffic in either direction when you're trying to leave. I certainly don't want them to cut the trees down, but it's a dangerous situation. You have to remember to stop awkwardly far back so that you have enough of an angle to see through the trees.

The yoga instructor is calming; it makes for a peaceful begining. The goats are so adorable and there were babies in the spring, not more than maybe 8 lbs or so. I think this is one of the best experiences anyone can do. They have you set up outside, on your yoga mats (don't forget to bring a mat - they supply thin ones in case you forget). and there is a small fence around your yoga group so the goats cant get out. The group is maybe 10 or 12 people. If it rains, they have a tent set up so the yoga goes on, rain or shine. And you just a nice, hour long relaxing time in this beautifully, tranquil garden. After you finish the best yoga in the city, they offer vegan empanadas as a nice snack and a baseball hat with the Paradigm Gardens logo on it. You can bring your own water and they have nice clean bathrooms as well. They are doing everything right! Everyone should experience the joy of goat yoga!

Everything was made fresh right in front of us, and it was absolutely delicious easily rivaling some of the best local restaurants. Wow! What a fun place for a school field trip! My 4 year old's class rode the bus there while the…read moreparents followed in their cars (not too bad of a drive - 1 hour from Baton Rouge). When we got there, there was plenty of parking and very easy to find (thanks to signs along the way). Everything was organized from the get go. Several other schools were there, but they had plenty of workers to keep things running smoothly. I wanted to share their mission statement I found on the website because I agree they are doing this: "Mission Statement To provide an educational, "hands on" learning adventure for families and organizations of all ages. To spread the love of the land and animals to all our guests both big and small, and instill the importance of keeping the American Agricultural values alive. To provide a professional, clean environment with emphasis on safety and dignity for both our guests and our animals." Liuzza was definitely hands on and educational. I especially loved all the fun facts signs around, and in general the setup was simple with chalkboard and burlap but so cute and creative. Definitely knew we were at a farm, but it was just more cute than rough and rigid. The animals seemed happy, the strawberries were delicious and plentiful for the picking! I loved the bus tour and mule-drawn trailer ride but could have honestly loved if they had told us more about the land and the history. Such a beautiful and well kept up place though! I was so surprised to see that they do weddings here! A beautiful outdoor area was set up for a wedding and there's the most precious, little chapel! Definitely a romantic setting for a wedding!! I would just love to be a guest for one here! I hope to be able to return on the open to the public days or even a special occasion like their Easter egg hunt. We were there for probably only 3 hours but definitely could have stayed longer. We fed goats, saw a zebra eating among all the horses, saw cows, an alpaca, a sheep, geese, but we managed to miss the pigs and bunnies. Must go back for those! They also host other events like- a berry bash, summer camp, farmer trade day, pancakes and pjs, and ties and tiaras. I visited for Halloween in 2018 when my son was about 10 months old and had a great day! They had a pumpkin patch, face painting, pumpkin carving, a costume contest, a corn maze, a petting zoo, a jumping area for the older kids, and so much more to see! Then staff were friendly and there was plenty of parking. They also have an elegant space for weddings/receptions. It is truly an enjoyable experience for the entire family.
