It was built and originally owned by a man named Thomas Judd. The store has been passed down to each son until 1982 when it was almost demolished and made into a parking lot. A couple purchased the store and the Judd home and they are dedicated to preserving this business. Walking in you get a sense that you are stepping back in time when life was much simpler for most people. Judd's is a vintage store filled with classic old candies, an incredible collection of retro sodas, ice cream, sandwiches, and they make some delicious soups and breadsticks. Employees are friendly and helpful. I purchased a tasty black cherry soda and was very pleased. If you find yourself visiting St. George, be sure to stop in and check out Judds. You might just find your favorite candy from your childhood.

We were immediately hit by the sweet smell of candy and the curious tables that looked like a group was going to be doing a class there soon. To our delight, a class would be starting soon, and there was space for us to join. We happily signed up and prepared to become taffy pulling novices. The class was well organized with clear instructions and plenty of hands-on assistance. I was impressed by how easy it was to do and just how much fun it was. We were able to select our flavors, colors and optional mix-ins and after about an hour and a half, we had made a bag full of taffy to take home with us. It was one of the most fun workshops I've attended. Plus, you get 10% off any purchase in the store, so you can stock up while you're at it!

None of the dolls that used to be there, by dolls I mean like Raggedy Ann and sock puppets and such. No sourdough bread. I did get some bread to try and some Jellies and of course apple cider but that was about it. My brother said we will go back for the apple cider and of course that is true, we will but the store seems to have shrunk quite a bit since last year when we visited. I did get some jams and jellies and some salsa as gifts for a party I am having in a few weeks and the cashier was nice (same guy as last year, I remember)
