So the wonderful staff and doctors at Suffolk OB/GYN kicked it up a notch. They now have a fantastic lactation nurse who spent all the time needy to help with breastfeeding. Dennae is a patient, caring nurse (just like the other nurses, sonographers and staff). I applaud them for recognizing the needs of a new mom. Thank you Dennae!!!! read more

*** Pregnancy review with HG diagnosis - this clinic is not HG friendly and refuses to fill necessary medication to keep you out of the ER **** This is my first pregnancy and this clinic sincerely ruined the entire experience not properly caring for me. The receptionists, nurses, ultrasound techs and Dr Schreiber and Dr Burns are phenomenal. The other doctors are awful. I was diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarium (HG) at 19 weeks at the ER which is severe pregnancy sickness and throw up 5-15 times a day. You are shuffled around to all of the doctors (many). Each appointment I would voice my sickness requiring IVs and ER visits and continued getting medicine. Because the doctors rotate my prescription requests for Zofran (Ondansetron) just so I could go to work would sit 1-5 days. Multiple times they timed out and I would have to call until approved and take the day off of work because I could not stop vomiting. My second to last appointment was with Dr. Petraco. He was friendly, but I was due to be seen at 3:30, arrived 15 minutes early, and was not seen until 4:40. I saw him for 5 minutes where I expressed my sickness and difficulty with my prescription to which he responded that Zofran can be harmful and they "don't like" to prescribe it. I explained I cannot work without it and the prescription was elongated. I then went to my anatomy scan where I saw Dr Lograno. He is friendly and smart but when I discussed my HG diagnosis and need for medicine he brushed it off without making any remarks. I received notice from WALGREENS at 21 weeks pregnant that my clinic was refusing to prescribe me any Zofran. I called the clinic on a Tuesday morning and was told I would receive a call back by the end of the business day. No call arrived. I called again the next day and was not called until the end of that business day. The nurse revealed to me that the doctors do not prescribed Zofran to patients this late in their pregnancy (21 weeks) and that there was no documentation of my sickness, ER visit, or in home IVs I have required. She said that they believe my nausea was not pregnancy related and that I should go to a GI doctor to be evaluated, AFTER getting diagnosed with HG and having no nausea or stomach issues before 6 weeks pregnant. I pleaded with her and the nurse agreed it was pregnancy sickness, but her hands were tied. I am so heartbroken over this entire experience. I am sick of waiting on hold, waiting hours for a rushed 5 minute appointment, the lack of documentation of such a severe illness which should be considered malpractice, waiting days for a prescription that comes out in different amounts each time, and the coldness this clinic offers. EDIT 06/03/2024 - I have found a doctor through the HER foundation who is providing me physical and emotional relief. She is validating my sickness and treating it as such. Please go to the HER foundation and plug in your zip code to find a dr close to you if you have HG. I was missing ~ 16 tests that should have been conducted up to this point due in my pregnancy. In addition, multiple doctors at my new clinic highlighted the risk of Zofran is via 1 illegitimate study and is only posed week 10-20, so to cut people off after 21 weeks who are diagnosed with HG is absolutely insane! I will be spreading word among HG and women's groups to beware of this OB, and I am letting all drs know of their incompetence that cost me THOUSANDS of dollars in ER visits and IVs and MONTHS of misery. I hope this never ever has to happen again to another woman!!!!! Update December 2025 - I am with the same provider that gave me relief with my first baby now. It is like night and day. They are making sure that I am comfortable and heard. I am getting medication for my nausea as needed. Please note that I have about a 14 month space between the end of my first pregnancy and beginning of my second. This facility told me I had an emergency GI problem AFTER I was diagnosed with HG by the hospital. But they were WRONG. Thank God I did not listen and moved onto another practice!!! I saved myself a TON of money and time. As soon as my placenta left my body from my first baby I felt like myself again - all symptoms gone. Now at 7.5 weeks they have all returned because I have a severe pregnancy disorder called HYPEREMESIS GRAVIDARIUM (HG) which I was diagnosed with. I have cried repeatedly during this pregnancy because of severe PTSD from this practice and how different my life would have been if I had drs that heard me and treated me the way they do now then during my last pregnancy. My entire experience was stolen from me by these money hungry lunatics that try to push women through like mice. I genuinely hope something changes because this was almost life or death for me and I have severe PTSD. read more

Well I love the Drs that my daughter and I see BUT trying to get through on the phone to make an appointment or to address a billing issue is absolutely insane! I was on hold one day for 2 hrs! I then called back and pressed every option avail to see if I could get someone to answer, but no luck. The same msg repeats over and over. I am somewhat relieved to see all of these one star reviews, as I know I am not alone. I've been going to this office for years and definitely would love a recommendation from anyone who reads this, as to where else I can go. I made the mistake thinking that female doctors would have a higher level of compassion and listening skills. Not so much. Curt, rude, and always seemingly either in a rush or just not interested. But you can bet that every visit, they recommend I get some (repeat) unnecessary, painful testing done so they can send a fat bill to my insurance company. (My friends who go here have had the exact same experience). My daughter is a new patient and has had the office cancel 3 appointments on her already. The first was for a routine visit with a nurse practitioner- it took months to get the appointment, was cancelled the day prior to the appointment. It was rescheduled with someone else- again had to wait a month. That was also cancelled. She finally saw Dr Karalitskty-she was great. But she needs a sonogram and follow up appointment and again we had to wait a month. Now I received word through My Chart that this appointment has also been cancelled. No one from the office has even bothered to call me with this information! And when I call I am left on hold endlessly. I am so disappointed with the constant run around. read more

I just want to say how much I appreciate this practice. I have been with this group since 1995 with the birth of my 1st child. Anyway fast forward to today and I received just excellent help for my now adult daughters. Jessica W in the appt/refill department was so very nice. I had to call 3 times with issues for an Rx for my out of town college daughter. She was polite, kind, respectful and most important knowledgeable and helpful. I have always received excellent Healthcare with this practice and am happy to continue recommending them to anyone who asks. read more

All of the doctors are top-notch, I had an extremely difficult pregnancy and was high risk and they made sure I was well taken care of. Laura Doti (NP) created an uncomfortable environment for me during my appointment today. She was rude, verbally aggressive and lacks basic human social skills. At forty weeks pregnant, you'd expect a level of kindness, but this is not what I received from her. Instead she was badgering and insensitive. I can't believe she is allowed to work here. I will have to reconsider my choice in doctor offices after the conclusion of this pregnancy. I've just had the worse experience of my life at a doctor's office. I was scheduled to see Dr. Sufferin and she was running an hour and a half behind. The staff at the front desk said she was on time. I had a sonogram first and then I was placed in a room that was 200 degrees. I started to feel very sick because it was so hot. I asked the staff when she will be coming in because I'm starting to feel very sick from the heat in the room. They said "you're next and too bad, stuff happens". Are you serious? I continued to wait when finally I couldn't take it any longer. A huge headache came on from the heat. I made this aware to the the staff. But they could care less. I told them I need to step out and get air and water. I did. I vomited from the heat being so high out by my car. Went back in because at this point I had invested an hour an and a half waiting for this this lousy doctor who could could care less about her patients. I get back in and I'm told it would be an additional 30 minutes wait because she moved on with her schedule. She couldn't wait 5 minutes for me while I was vomiting outside from the overheated office. I spoke to the office manager for 20 mins and she said it would be another 45 minutes to see her from there. So basically I was removed from the schedule because I stepped out to vomit for 5 minutes. This does not sit well with me AT ALL. I will be filing a grievance and will not allow my insurance company to pay a cent for the that sonogram. I will have them removed from my insurance company referrals too. They messed with the wrong girl. And that's not the only way I will be going after them for the way I was treated. I was treated like a piece of garbage. This place is disgusting. It's all about the money for them. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place like the plague. read more

I just spoke with Dr. Shaffran about managing pain and wanted that conversation to include Med. Marijuana. Instead of being met with an open conversation about my options as a patient, Dr. Shaffran spoke to me as if I was a piece of trash attempting to "get something" from her. I wanted to have a conversation about the best options for me and I was spoken to like a junkie. She insisted on other pain management regiments as a stipulation- meanwhile Suffolk OBGYN isn't even registered to prescribe CBD products, which she did not disclose to me. Patients who want to use CBD for pain management deserve to be treated with respect and dignity. She was unreceptive to my questions and immediately shut down the conversation and told me to "do my own research" if I "wasn't satisfied and wasn't getting what I wanted". If Dr. Shaffran didn't have a stigma against using CBD, she would have told me Suffolk OBGYN is not registered to prescribe it. She was aggressive, impatient, unprofessional, and incredibly unkind. And Laura in administration couldn't have cared less when I was on the phone, crying, attempting to make a complaint. DON'T GO HERE. read more

My mother used this group when I was born and I've been coming here for over 30 years. I have to say, I am looking for another office. The customer service is terrible. I am made to feel like a strung out drug addict in order to get my birth control even though I have faithfully come every 6 months for 30 years. Calling the office for an appointment or refills is at least a 1/2 hour process and the customer service people treat you like crap. Every refill is a nightmare. They forget to call it in or they can't do it correctly without another phone call reminding them. Completely sick and tired of such poor treatment. read more

My second appointment here will be my last. Had a bad first experience but a very nice woman from their social media department called to apologize and so I thought, why not give them a second shot, my issue upon 1st visit was with reception. Well upon my 2nd visit my issue was with one of their doctors, Dr. Mindy Shaffran who rushed through my appointment. My PCP had said I may have PCOS (which would make sense with all the symptoms I've been experiencing) and when I asked Dr. Shaffran about this she scoffed at me, that I dont have PCOS, that she doesn't know why my PCP would say that. When I explained my symptoms to her including inexplicable weight gain (even though I have been following a diet and exercise routine for 7 months) she said that if I couldn't lose the weight that I should see a nutritionist but diet and exercise was the only way. She completely dismissed my other concerns in suit, finally saying to me "I dont know what you want me to say, I dont have the answers for you." Which would be fine except she for i increasingly annoyed the more questions i had which included what alternative medicines and supplements were safe for me to try (she laughed at me when I inquired about acupuncture, saying some people have found it helpful so sure, if you want to try it lol.) She then proceeded to go through my fertility history with the finesse of a criminal defense lawyer, I felt like I was being cross-examined...like I'd done something wrong. All of that and she then didnt review my results from my breast sonogram which she ordered. Again, she was in a hurry. When I called back the next day their answering service answered and said their on call doctor could review the results with me, I agreed, and the answering service got back on the phone with me and said the on call doctor was angry that they had even been called and that I would have to wait till Monday when they were open. I will be looking for a new doctor, reproductive endocrinologists have sensitive work and should be at least polite if not kind...this woman was neither of those things. I left the appointment in tears. I would give 0 stars if I could. The reception this time from the office staff was pleasant so there is the 1 star. read more

Zero stars!!! The absolute worst practice ever!! They took my IUD out telling me it was safe to get pregnant, and then when I did after three visits seeing a different provider each time they had a fourth provider call me on the phone and say we no longer will care for you and to find a new doctor. Then I received a generic letter in the mail saying the same. When I called them asking for reasoning I was told per their management company Pro Health that they are not required to give me a reason as to why! Then I come to find out that the doctor who saw me last is being sued for killing a woman who was in labor for not treating her properly! They have over 100 pending lawsuits for malpractice currently. Absolutely amazes me that the practice is even still open!!! read more

Once again, had an appointment at this office and was made to wait an hour and 15 minutes. Had a 3 PM appointment, wasn't seen by a doctor until about 415, he rushed through what may have only been five minutes that he spent with me , wrote down my information on the back of a piece of paper and gave me no real information. Stood at the doorway to give me my MRI results, like it was inconsequential. dooThenrushed along by the nurse through my BRACA test. Overbooking patients, not giving patients the proper attention and rushing through the reason I was there. Really poor behavior. read more

This place is, horrible. 7 years ago I had a misscarriage. They billed my insurance incorrectly. I gave them correct info a, million times. They said it was corrected. Now my husband passed away 3 years ago and I get a subpoena from a court saying that they are putting a judgement against me for an amount due back in 2010 for the miscarriage they are nothing but a disgrace they have incompetent people working in the billing department not to mention they butchered me during those five and a half month pregnancy I had that I miscarried be safe and be aware of them they are not a kind gentle Caring Place they are only out for the money however I will take it up with the court and the lawyer and they will not see a penny from me that I am not responsible for. read more

I won't be going back to this office. I wish I read the reviews too. Scheduled an appt for an issue that coincided with my annual appt. Dr would not perform annual exam because of the issue, that had since resolved. I was informed I would have to come back when there was no reason why the annual could not have been performed (possibly more interested in billing insurance for a second visit?). During this appt I was also informed I would have to schedule a sonogram. Tried to schedule a same day sono only to learn I missed the only available appointment for a sono that day by 20 minutes. If I was seen on time or somewhat on time, I would have been able to schedule the sono for the same day. When I inquired why I was seen so late I was informed that the Dr takes her time with patients. Oh really??? I spent 6 minutes with the Dr. The office manager called me the next day because the Dr knew I was disappointed. It was my first time there. Lisa the Tech who took my blood pressure was extremely nice. She put me at ease at once. I then met Dr. Edwards who was so nice, and we discussed a few things, and the exam was complete. He gave me a script for a mammogram. And suggested a bone density test, since I hadn't had one in over 2 years. There I met Nicole the bone density tech who was excellent also. She even gave me a suggestion to purchase a used emergency alert device, and where to look. All in all the entire visit was great. Would recommend this office with high praise. read more

This "clinic" deserves no stars. I wish I had read the reviews before going to this horrible place. I chose to go here because it was closer and we are new to the area. Anyhow after waiting over 45 minutes for my appointment I arrived timely for, my husband and I were excited to see our first sonogram. We were met by a sono tech that was not at all compassionate about her job. She did a transvag u/s for literally about 5 minutes telling us our dates are off and did I have a csection in my previous pregnancy. We knew something was wrong bc of her demeanor and how she basically hurried us out of the room. Then we waited downstairs again to see the nurse practioner. The person behind the desk was rude and annoyingly demanding information while we were anxious to just meet with the dr. The nurse then informed us they only saw a sac and a miscarriage would definitely happen and I would begin bleeding in a few days. We were heartbroken! She went on to tell me I could take a pill to help expel the baby n make an appointment for a d&c. I ran out of the office and my husband had to deal with the incompetent morons behind the desk to make an appointment. Well thank God my husband did not receive this LIE from this place. We called my previous OBGYN and even though they are an hour away decided to go there. When I called my previous OBGYN the Dr got on the phone right away (not like Suffolk obgyn where it took them days to return calls) and she told me to come in right away for an u/s. The sono tech here was talking us throughout and informing us what we were looking at. She found a baby inside of Sac moving and a heartbeat!!! I was told the baby had a strong heartbeat! N this was the very next day! How could Suffolk's sono tech not even see the baby or the heartbeat. Either they have super crappy equipment or she is one awful sono tech. So if you're pregnant and have choices go somewhere else. This place is like a clinic not a doctor's office servicing you personally and actually caring about you and your baby. Imagine all the women that receive the lies and then basically chose to take this pill and perform a d&c while there is actually a living breathing baby in there!!! SHAME ON THIS PLACE. No one enjoys going to see the lady Dr. and after my first trip to the gynecologist (at a different Dr's office) I was petrified of going back. So I decided to switch Drs offices and went here and saw Dr. Shaffron. She is wonderful! She is so kind, and non-judgemental, and did not make me feel uncomfortable in anyway. I wouldn't say that I look forward to going to the gynecologist now, but I can say that I don't dread it as much as I used to! read more

If you like to be treated like cattle, this is the place. Beware. Absolutely disgusting experience with not one but two doctors-I was made to feel like I was a bother and an inconvenience. Constantly dismissed my concerns and health issues for several months. They do not listen to your individual needs, each woman is different and deserves reproductive healthcare tailored to her specific needs, changes in her body and reactions to certain medications, etc. This practice doesn't listen to those needs, does not want to hear your concerns and could care less if you like if or not. After dealing with a serious medical issue for 5 months and very bad reaction from medication administered to me by one of the "medical professionals" at this facility, I called them after seeing my GP regarding the reaction (after being advised to stop immediately due to the seriousness of the side effects). I was brushed off and told to come in for an annual...despite coming in frequently for the last 3-4 months for tests on top of tests. Not a peep about the medication, what could be happening with my body, not a word about if I should actually stop the medication or not...just to come in for your annual. The Dr never once called, most of the time I would have to chase them down for test results and answers. Nurses would call occasionally, whom I had to re-explain the situation to over and over again, most had no idea what the heck was going on in regards to the situation despite having my chart in front of them. It has been extremely upsetting, stressful and draining to say the least, especially when you have to put your trust in a Dr. when going through a tough medical situation. On top of that, they have made billing errors with my insurance company, mistakes on my billing information, just a laundry list of errors and things overlooked in regards to paperwork, billing, etc. I strongly advise any and every woman to NOT go here, every woman is deserving of good OBGYN care, deserving of a Dr. who is understanding and concerned about the health and well being of the individual seeking help, unfortunately this is absolutely not the facility to receive such care. read more

What a horrible place! First, the woman at the front desk was incredibly rude to me (and everyone else I saw her interact with). She treated everyone condescendingly and made faces to her coworkers when anyone asked her a question. Next, even though I arrived 20 minutes early for my appointment I had to wait for an hour! I missed picking up my son from soccer practice (had a friend get him - thank goodness!). Finally, when I get into see the Dr. she dismisses my health concerns, and sends me out in under 15 minutes! I genuinely couldn't believe the treatment I received there. They screwed up my billing, too! Unbelievable. I'm never giving them my business ever again, and you shouldn't either. read more
