This was an absolutely terrible experience for our family. Christina didn't listen to what I wanted…read moreat all, and when I told her I was uncomfortable in a certain pose (Sitting on a jagged rock on a steep hill, in a dress and heels, while holding my newborn), she threatened to quit and wouldn't continue shooting until I did the pose she wanted. She was terrible at giving directions (just turn, turn the other way, no the other way, move your hand, etc - entirely unclear) and would get mad at us when we didn't guess correctly what she meant. When we didn't pose the way she wanted, she would make sarcastic and snippy comments that made us all SO uncomfortable and made the whole shoot so awkward. And then she'd bark at you to smile! We did not get one single photo that we will ever use. I am so very sad and mad, not only that we wasted $500 but that we can't go back and get photos that we can actually use of my baby at this age again. We can never get that back. I would highly encourage you to think twice before hiring Christina if you have a baby - she absolutely does NOT know how to shoot babies. Or family groups. If you have any thoughts or opinions of your own whatsoever about what you want, she will not listen to you. When I told her what shots I wanted (which we had discussed over the phone and in email prior to the shoot) she yelled at me that she's the professional and basically I needed to shut up and do it her way because I don't know anything. I left the shoot in tears. It was truly awful. And surprise surprise, I've never seen less flattering photos of myself or my family in my entire life. There is literally not one single photo where you can see everyone's face and everyone has their eyes open! I truly believe she started taking bad photos intentionally after I didn't want to do one of her poses because even a non-professional photographer could capture at least one or two that were ok. Think twice before hiring her.

My boyfriend corresponded with Bex way ahead of time, sent her cutouts of my family, and planned the whole thing with her. On the day of the proposal, Bex had to get the cutouts to the top of the mountain and set everything up. She truly went above and beyond! It was windy that day so I can imagine how stressful it was to get those cutouts to stand up. We had a lovely 30 min session with her after the proposal and she sent us our photos within 5 days, which is amazing! We had almost 100 photos total, for a TRULY reasonable price. I really liked that she gives you information on everything, from ideas of location to suggestions on how to dress. My advice is to listen to her advice :) My family just moved to Breck, and I don't live there, and so no one in our group knew the area super well. But I mentioned what kind of location we were looking for and she gave me a few great options. It seemed like she was very used to clients not knowing their way around Breck and was super helpful in that regard. She even had a brunch location suggest for us, after our shoot. I wanted to get some photos with my parents and the family tree they created (ie my parents, their kids and their grandkids). The shoot included a 7 year old, 2 year old and a 10 month old. There was a lot of kid-wrangling to do and Alisa was amazing. My 7 year old nephew hates having his photo taken. Seriously. He hates it. I don't think I have a single decent photo of him. But Alisa was able to get him to smile and be silly for her. She got some amazing group photos, as well as portraits of him! And she was even able to wrangle my unpredictable baby. Her quote was actually a bit higher than other quotes I got. But from her portfolio photos, as well as her communication skills, I suspected that she'd be worth it. And now that I have the finished photos, I know that I was right. Her ability to handle little kids is incredible. It's definitely not something that everyone can do and I think it kind of key for a family photographer. For anyone looking to take some photos in Breck, I can't suggest Alisa enough.
