Glen is a true sandwich artist. Her ratios of condiments is top notch. Would take to the Shelburne street dance.

The service was pretty good, and we got to sit outdoors on the patio on a beautiful sunny day - one simply can't ask for a better dining experience. One complaint from a couple in our party was the coffee tasted and smelled like dish soap. I didn't order coffee myself but perhaps it wouldn't hurt to run an extra cycle of rinsing before serving with those mugs.

In spite of the time told to us by the hostess. It was our first time there. Our orders were placed. Yet the food seemed to take a long time to get to our table. Meanwhile others got seated after us and their food was out to them, shortly after they sat and ordered. Catfish burger 11/10. Portobello mushroom burger 7/10. It seemed to be missing something. Salads were phenomenal 10/10. Mac'n'cheese, another 10/10. And I never eat that. At all, it was really, really good. Top of the line. The staff were friendly, yet I couldn't help but notice how it seemed our table lacked attention in getting served. I dont know if its because my friend and I were out of towners. I asked twice for hot sauce that was actually given to our table from a different server than the one who took our order. And she was the second person I asked. Mind you it was fairly busy and I understand that. I appreciated learning of the history of the restuarant. In it being originally a bakery and then taken over by the son-in-law. Maintaining the quality and integrity of the food coming out of the kitchen. Definitely nice to hear and not something experienced often in the big city. My friend and I live in Toronto. The washroom I felt was a little close to the dining area. I think there needs to be some more separateness between the dine area, the washrooms and the kitchen. Smells tend to linger. I also didn't enjoy how they use billybee honey instead of a local one. Aside from that. Great restuarant with a wonderful mission. Will likely return.

I did a quick search to see if John Catucci had been to the area with either of his shows, and it turned out Philadelphia Kitchen was featured on You Gotta Eat Here. Decision made! We decided to try a couple of their cheesesteaks, one with wiz and one with mozzarella. After a wait of about 15 minutes, both sandwiches were brought to our table. My first impression was that hey, this doesn't look like a traditional cheesesteak. The wiz one especially only seemed to contain a small line of cheese whiz, which, if you've ever had an authentic cheesesteak, you know is absolutely incorrect. Anyway, even though I wouldn't call either of these sandwiches cheesesteaks in the traditional sense, they turned out to be tasty meat sandwiches regardless. The meat is cooked very well, and the fresh bread provides a nice crunch. Do I wish I'd been served an actual cheesesteak? Yes, definitely. But I did enjoy this for what it was, which is a well-made steak sandwich.

I was thrilled to learn about Grandma Loves You (GLY) opening its first location in the greater Toronto area. It's in York region in Aurora. Woo hoo! A few Yelp experiences at GLY's original location in Rosedale made me love the sandwiches and croissants. It has since moved its flagship location to Yonge and St. Clair, and has opened a few more locations. I have yet to visit the one near St. Lawrence Market. Someday, I'll get there. In the meantime, I had to visit this brand new location and made my way up here two Saturdays ago. Out of all their stores, parking here is the best. It's free. It's straightforward. It's easy and stress-free. There were a set of stairs to get you to and from this place. I was hoping that there was a ramp for those who need a wheelchair somewhere. I didn't see one. I got here at around 2 pm. It was pretty busy. My original plan was to dine in. It looked like I had do takeout. I had the most helpful, sweet woman behind the counter. I wanted a meatball sandwich, which is my favourite. I was rusty ordering it. She guided me through everything. You can get their sandwiches that are like subs in either a 6" or 12". I went with the latter. She said that there was a seat just behind me. There were more like lounge chairs. I was down nabbing a comfy chair. I also got a Diet Coke in a can. I needed something to wash everything down. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. She asked for my name and would call me when my order was ready. The best customer service occurred when this woman brought my sandwich to me. Wow! It was such a kind gesture. I thanked her and then tore through it. Oh, how I love the meatball sandwich! So many meatballs were packed into this sandwich. Each meatball was yummy and juicy, with the perfect amount of sauce. The lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and cheese pulled everything together with the most perfect bread. The Diet Coke was in the fridge next to where I was sitting. I grabbed a can. It was cold and delightful. Before I left, I got a white chocolate macadamia nut cookie to go. Starbucks used to offer this cookie eons ago. I don't know why the franchise took it off the menu. It was awesome. Well, this cookie was delicious and make me forget about the Starbucks one. It was packed full of white chocolate and macadamia pieces. It was just under $4 after taxes, but so worth it. I used the washroom before I left. There is only one stall. It was clean. but expect to take turns using it when it's busy. I am glad that I finally visited this location. Welcome to York region and Aurora, GLY! I'll be back for more. (398)

Very good but enjoyed the breakfast sandwich more. 4/5 Overall it was great and definitely want to try more.

Recommend the signature sandwich which was incredible. Holy Cow was so filling and the meat was juicy and tender. Had the smashed potatoes with both sauces better than old school fries. The flavor was just bursting out of these little potatoes. Washing it down with the house made lemonade elixir was a treat as they make it in house. The next time I have to try the salad bowls or the Blazin beef. Highly recommended to all my friends if you are in the area.

I know a lot of people have reservations paying top dollar for just a sandwich, but I'd say the quality of ingredients and flavourful sauces is totally worth it. I always get the holy cow sandwich with vamp sauce, but will occasionally get the chicken sandwich with lunar sauce. I did try the lemonade they had once, but to be honest, it doesn't quite fit my palate. The lemonade has some sort of seasoning in it. If you've had lemonade from East Asian restaurants, you would kind of know what to expect. They also give you a discount card that you can show for an extra 15% off when you visit. If you're in the area looking for a quick bite, I'd give this place a shot.
