I've worked in food service for 30 years and been a lake goer for at least that long. The Jamestown Marina and Mama JJ in particular has lost our business forever. I also very rarely send food back or make a fuss or give a kitchen a chance to make it right. Today, on the lake the food was so stale and cold and the pork so hard and rubbery I hope we don't get food poisoning from the few bites we took trying it. It was not chewable and not swallowable. I asked the staff to make it right or for something else - they send me back an even worse entree that was even more cold and more stale ... I threw it in the trash. Here's a suggestion... if the customer asks or gives you the chance to make a bad experience better - try to do that and keep their business. Don't make it worse. We were the only customers in the restaurant at the time with 5 employees. The server had to go get the cook from smoking hanging out on the dock and the other servers just stood around goofing off. We are retired and spend seven days a week on the lake in the summer. We spend a lot of money eating out on the lake. We will travel to the state dock, wolf creek or rowena or go hungry rather than give this place our money and business anymore.

The ambiance is very inviting and spacious, and the service was very quick and accomadating. I ordered the Reuben sandwich with the tomato basil soup, and both were fresh, flavorful, and delicious. The Reuben was piled high with meat. I had enough left over for another meal! I couldn't leave without trying the red velvet crinkle cookie, and I'm so glad I did. I saved it to share with my husband when I got home, and it was incredible. I found out the owner's daughter, a Culinary Institute graduate, made it, and you can definitely taste the quality.
