Dozens of burger places offer you a great choice in bun, patty, sauce etc. But how did the pre-burger-hype places deal with it? Short answer: They didn't. Bad service, mediocre food and high prices. the so called "home made" lemonade was definitely not home made and tasted like ajax, the fries were classic supermarket fries and all in all it just tasted bad. How bad? Really bad. You get the feeling that these guys just don't care anymore. After all, they were here first & will forever be the goto place for many people. It's a shame really...

Both were delicious. Especially the white tomato soup, the flavor was amazing, although it was bit salty, on the other hand, really good if you dip a bit of bread with it) The foie gras and scallop starter had good flavor and texture balance. But it was a bit oily. The pork tenderloin main course unfortunately was so tough I couldn't cut through the meat and ended up sending it back. They were very accommodating and fixed it for me (I felt bad because it was pretty late and they were clearly closing the restaurant). The fixed plate was better, but parts were still chewy. Beside the issue with the meat the rest of the plate was way over salted. The place has potential, but not quite there yet. One starter, one main, plus a glass of wine and water came or to be ~45€, which is a lot for over salted food. However well intentioned it may be.

CHILLI CHEESE FRIES - here is where I wanna justify my rating on this place, the burgers do not come with fries, and I am ok with that, however, I ordered the chilli cheese fries, all I got was a porting of fries with the smallest bowl with some cheese and one jalapeño slice in there. My problem was not the spice level, but the size of the serving of sauce, it was a 7 dollar cheese fries, and the dip was so small it did not even cover half of the fries, not even just dipping the fries, as fries with mayo and catchup and half the price and I would get 2 dips, given they were the same size of the cheese it would be still larger than the cheese serving. The worse part is that they charge for condiments so once I realised how small the cheese dip was, I would have to pay to get any other dip...... it was just a rip off Also they charge for water but that is a common practice in the state it seems. Overall the burgers are amazing and I would eat them again, but the fries are not a great idea just because of the condiment situation, in my opinion.

I would recommend this place as a change from the schnitzel and sausages throughout the other more traditional restaurants. As a lover of curry sauce, i recommend it strongely, it is a fast service, a great variety of sauces and craft beers in a really nice environment. But this place is as close to a restaurant as a Currywurst snack stand can be... The sausage - the Currywurst - is simply put perfect! You get to choose between different sausages, then decide which curry sauce you would like, only to then choose the sauces for the chips! I forgot which sausage I chose, but it was "knackig" (the Germans say here) and absolutely delicious! The sauce wasn't as spicey, but that's because I chose the less spicey one, so that is definitely my own fault - but my food partner chose the other one and let me know that it was rather bland as well. The chips were not too great - too hard and no vinegar around to soak them in, but I guess that's just me again...now the sauces, they are amazing! The guy who worked here was nice enough to give us a plate full of all the different sauces, so we could try all of them! That's what I call service! He made sure to ask us to come back in after trying them, in order to tell him which one we liked best!! I couldn't even decide which one I liked best, but the ajvar ketchup was definitely at the top of my list! The interior is super cute and decorated with bright, cheerful wooden chairs and tables. As with most establishments in Germany, it is sleek, clean and modern. The menu is mostly in English but the workers spoke limited English, something that I found very weird. I was trying to speak German while ordering what was listed on the menu as a "Route 66 Burger with American cheese." If you're the type of traveler who expects to be catered to by assuming everyone in Europe speaks English, don't go here. You'll need some limited German (or really, really good pointing skills) to order. The employees were VERY friendly and welcoming, full of smiles in spite of a minor language barrier. In fact, they were some of the nicest people we encountered in Germany. After placing your order, you'll get a pager that beeps when it's ready. I loved that my food was cooked to order. Fresh is the best! While these burgers are nowhere near as good as ones you can get in the U.S.A., they are still high quality and tasty, even by American standards. The quality of ingredients, especially the produce, was some of the best ever. You'd never find beautiful ruby red tomatoes, crispy and cold lettuce or sweet onions like these at Fuddruckers! I expected chewy, undercooked bacon but it was the best part of my burger. Major positives: free wifi, made to order burgers, fresh produce, lots of condiments right on the table, fresh herb pots on the table so you can pick your own to eat, and -- wait for it -- FREE REFILLS ON SODAS AND AN ICE MACHINE!
