This sits in like what can be considered truck stop warzone area. Right across the street is another truck stop, that is very similar in all meanings of being a truck stop. The building, weird. As I said, this is a truck stop, so BK shares the building with the truck stop convenience store portion as well as a Subway. The building does not feel large enough to hold all this. The BK has a drive thru and indoor seating, but it is a rather small seating area, so this is a destination-bring-your-whole-family-sit-down-restaurant, this is a you-better-be-alone-to-eat-here type of restaurant. The lot, yikes! If you are lucky enough to get a spot right outside the building, you are golden. But I had to park across the whole lot and dodge semis to get to the door. I honestly do not know why there aren't enough parking spots closer. The inside is of the newer variety of BKs out there. Very few booths and the remainder of the seating is high top tables near the windows. The table I sat at was crowded the the multiple highchairs. Which made me think that only babies eat here, it was disproportionate to the restaurant because of the amount of highchairs. The staff here were great. They were ready to serve as soon as I walked in. Smiled when I spoke. Put together the food rather quickly and were just polite all around. I ordered just the right amount of food to hold me over. And I paid for what I ordered later in the day. I just can't pass up those onion rings and their Zesty sauce (I even got the Rodeo Burger just for the onion rings). Decent stop, filled me up and I was on my way.

We ordered from the drive thru. We were the only customers present at the time and the food still took way longer than when we order at other locations. I don't like fast food so I only tasted a fry, and I'd say, there usually saltier. The cashier looked like she was forcing herself to be friendly when my sister commented on her shirt. I get the vibe, she doesn't want extra contact with customers. If my daughter didn't love Mc Donald's fries, we wouldn't ever come here.

We stopped at this McDonald's on June 21, 2026, around 5:37 a.m. The posted information showed that the drive-thru opened at 5:00 a.m., while the lobby opened at 6:00 a.m. Since we were there before the lobby opened, we went through the drive-thru expecting to be able to place a simple breakfast order. After waiting at the drive-thru with no acknowledgment, we had to knock on the window just to get someone's attention. When the employee finally came to the window, she immediately seemed irritated, dismissive, and unwilling to help. We asked if we were able to order, and she told us no, saying they had come in late and that the lobby opened at 6:00 a.m. We clarified that we were not trying to enter the lobby, we were at the drive-thru, which was supposed to be open at 5:00 a.m. Her response was that they had come in late and that there was no food ready anyway. What made this experience worse was not simply that food was unavailable. Things happen. Employees run late, opening can be delayed, and customers can understand that when it is communicated respectfully. The issue was the attitude, the lack of professionalism, and the complete absence of accountability. When we asked for her name, because she was wearing a McDonald's zip-up hoodie with no visible name tag, she refused and said, "I don't have to give you my name." She then stated that she was a manager and repeated that she did not have to provide her name. The employee appeared to be a young blonde female manager working the opening shift. For someone identifying herself as a manager, this was extremely disappointing. A manager sets the tone for the store. If this is how management communicates with customers, especially during a basic service issue, it raises serious concerns about how the rest of the staff is being trained and led. This could have been handled very differently. A simple, respectful explanation such as, "I apologize, we opened late this morning and breakfast is not ready yet. We should be ready closer to 6:00," would have completely changed the interaction. Instead, we were met with irritation, refusal, and defensiveness. This location needs more than a reminder about customer service. It needs a teachable moment around leadership, accountability, communication, and basic professionalism. Customers should not have to knock on a window during posted drive-thru hours, be spoken to rudely, be denied service without a respectful explanation, and then have a manager refuse to identify herself. I hope the franchise owner or district management reviews this situation, including who was managing the opening shift that morning, and uses it as a training opportunity. Managers should be equipped to handle delays and customer questions with respect, not hostility. This experience left us without food and with a very negative impression of this location.

Ordering can happen at the window outside or inside at the counter, when I went no dining was allowed inside so I ate outside at a table. I ordered the Reese Pieces wizard and it was very good. Operating as a…read morerestaurant/ice cream parlor mix, it serves up all sorts of goodies through the summer to fall period. Pretty standard menu items for a diner in rural PA. Nothing particularly exceptional on the regular food menu, but it has a comftorable atmosphere, friendly staff, and a lot of options. The lemonade is awful (don't get it). Their take on blizzards are pretty amazing. The quality of the ice cream has shifted considerably over the years, but recently the soft serve chocolate was excellent. The hard serve is standard Hershey's, and while decent can be obtained anywhere these days. Nice little spot for some ice cream or a quick bite in the middle of nowhere (i.e. Orangeville, PA). Might have bumped down to three stars, but the former Creekside Restaurant has burned down and therefore little to compare to it.
