This place is packed with sandwiches, muffins, salads, fruit, soup and everything my mum would approve of. Well, maybe not so much the chocolate bars. But hard working brains need a boost every now and again right? The best thing is, is that the food's really cheap. I loved their fruit salad containers that are filled with melon, apple, grapes...all the nice fruits. And the soups were perfect on those cold winter days. They also have seating outside which is great if you want to chill in the sunshine and people watch for your lunch break. This shop is always a winner for me and I'm thankful for it's convenience and price all the time.

For me this is heaven, nothing satisfies a student more than cheap food! I saw the sign as I was about to head into Imax food court but I ran across the road to Global Sandwich. I bought a smoked chicken sandwich on five grain bread and a banana muffin. This cost me $3.70! If you don't believe me head down there yourself. Apart from the cheap price it's nice to know that they are some honest people in this world who don't recycle their food stock.

The ambiance was vibey and loved that I was sitting outside, but still covered from the sun. The waiters were so nice and were able to answer any questions I had. I ordered an iced hazelnut oatmilk latte and a fried chicken benedict and they were delicious! The latte was the perfect drink to wake me up for a busy day ahead! They definitely do eggs benedict different but it was still so tasty. Instead of the usual english muffin, they used an herb rostis, which is a crispy hash brown round. The fried chicken was juicy and crispy. The herb rostis was also crispy and paired well with the creamy poached eggs! I miss this meal so much and dreaming of having this again the next time I go back to Auckland!

I love that they offered both still water or sparkling for the table. I ordered the salmon benedict and it was delicious! Their menu offers gluten free as well as dairy free options. Vegetarian or vegan? They have options for you too. I ordered an Americano and it was full bodied and came in a large mug. I only wish we'd had more time in Auckland so I could come here again.

I believe Wild Wheat has a few stores around Auckland, with the Mt Eden store being my local. Known…read morefor selling a range of artisan bread loaves, they also offer handmade sandwiches on their delicious pide along with a few other deli items. For a delicious quick bite, we grabbed a couple of sandwiches, one beef and one chicken. The filling options are quite the generic such as chicken, beef, ham and vegetarian but lets be honest, those are the fillings that suit most. They were great for something light and had a delicious chutney or tomato jam. Its good if you are being health conscious or just not a fan of mayo like myself. They aren't anything fancy but a sandwich can make or break based on the bread it's served on - the fresh pide just makes it. If you're just looking for that loaf of bread to dip with in that extra gravy at dinner, or to make that delicious home made garlic bread, grab one of the many loaves they have on to offer. Its only a small store so I would recommend just grabbing anything takeaway. I purchased a small loaf to take along to a barbecue and it went down a treat! Wild Wheat is award winning and the kumara sourdough was judged best bread in the country at the 2012 NZ Food Awards. No big deal! At Wild Wheat you can not only get loaves of bread, but also individual bread rolls (including mini burger buns, cute), pies, meringues, slices and award winning hot cross buns for Easter.

It was open at the time I was in the area and it did look inviting. I perused the menu and decided to give it a try. Walking in I saw the old-fashioned furnishings, metal chairs, display cases, wall shelves, big bar in the middle all in a long and narrow room. Yessss, this looks lie something out of the 50s and I like it. After a long hard look at the menu I opted for the Salami platter... Strangely enough there wasn't salami, but more like a smoked ham, prosciutto like meat. It tasted great, so what's in a name. Delicious heirloom tomatoes, capers, salami impersonator, cream cheese, capers, pickles and your choice of bread. I had chosen crumpets and regretted that . Not because they weren't delicious, because they were so yummy, but they were also so buttery that I couldn't get the cream cheese to stick and everything I tried to put on the crumpet just slid right off them. I got the bottomless cup of coffee and I must say, this is really good coffee and the refills kept coming also. I love the atmosphere in here and there are so many great choices on the menu. If I ever come back tot Auckland, I will definitely stop by this place again.

There was plenty of food for each order. My wife had a street dog and fries and I had a Ruben. They were pretty decent. I wasn't as happy with the fries. They were like the bottom of a pile and mostly little pieces with very few full length slices. Prices were extremely reasonable. I would definitely eat there again.
