BEWARE!!!!!! Suburban Propane of Washington,NC are crooks. They haven't even finished my install,…read moreand they have tried to rip me off for hundreds of dollars. The estimate I agreed to was to put a 250 tank 10ft from my house. They billed me for 3 hours, a trencher to dig 10 ft, the extra 10 ft of line, and the 250 tank. The crew shows up with only a 100 gallon tank, no trencher, and told me that they were told to put the tank right up against the house. So, without consulting me, they made changes to save them money, but no change in the cost to me. I stopped them, one guys left to go get the trencher, the other guy came into the house and proceeded to drill a hole in my kitchen floor for the stove hook up. Upon arrival, I told them exactly how far under the house they had to go for both lines. He never looked under the house, just started drilling. Then he started yelling, "Turn the water off!" Water was spraying all the way to my range hood. Doesn't it make sense that a kitchen will have electric and water lines run nearby?! If he had hit the nearby 220 electric line, I'd still be scrapping him off the walls. After turning the water off, the tech walked to where my space heater was, and again, without looking under the house, started blindly drilling another hole in the floor. My install is still not complete. No tank, just a line run under my house, and a bill for nearly $200 from the plumber that Suburban is going to have to pay. Hire someone else!

They're horrible. Slow service, high prices. To wit: current price is $2.91/gallon - and they…read morecharged me something like $5.24/gallon (not including all the taxes, fees and other rigamarole). I've written the NC Attorney General's office and Better Business Bureau about them before, and they never do anything about this. FInd someone else. Stay away from Suburban!
