Excellent choice for a sit-down and refresh…read more Cafe Del Mar is located on the back-side of Malpica facing the ocean only a block off the Main Street. We found their beverages to be average price for the area but fell in love with the view and the food. From the terrace Cafe Del Mar has an expansive view across the bay north over to the lighthouse. We spend an hour watching the shadow of clouds dance over the hills on the horizon and the never ending succession of waves sweeping ashore. The beef stew that was served as the complimentary drink tapas told us two things.....we should eat here....and the cook knows exactly what he/she is doing. While most tourists are drawn to the photogenic harbor, we feel the best bet for sustenance is on the other side of town here at Cafe Del Mar. We will be back.

You enter through a non-descript door off a busy streets and enter a fairly standard dark bar and then it opens up to this surreal patio with an incredible view of a canyon down below. Very good service amidst the hanging plants and flowing water. The drinks were nothing exceptional but definitely worth a visit for the scenery

The Tapas that come out of the tiny kitchen are as good as anything that my MIL had ever made. This is what Spain is really about. Muxia is loaded with places featuring peligrino menus for 8-9 euros or bogavante for 80 euros; all of them enticing visitors of many persuasions to drop as much coin as possible....O Espeto does neither...or at least not as blatantly. This family-run pub offers the locals exactly what they want: A comfortable place to sit and relax, enjoy a favorite beverage and chat about the comings and goings on of the day. Their beverage selection is limited. They serve Estrella Galicia on tap (as does every other self-respecting drinking establishment in the part of the world) and basic wine choices. Mixed drink may be a challenge so better off sticking to what sells. O Espeto is quite generous with their complimentary tapas. Our drink and snack bill for the both of us came to......I'm sorry, I don't want to tell you since you won't believe me. Let me put it this way, we have spent more elsewhere for just a sandwich. O Espeto is located on away from the tourist shops on the harbor and only a block from an oceanside plaza. It's not that hard to find and we think your effort will be well rewarded. We will be back.
