I am the "i've never had a good haircut" type of customer until I found Sublime. Trisha was recommended to me after I complimented someone on their stunning hair cut. I secured an appt and quickly found out Trisha knows her stuff. I stayed with her through several style changes and each time 100% satisfied. Unfortunately, I left the salon because of progressive hair cut price changes which my budget could no longer sustain. I went in for a Pixie cut with Trisha. I provided front & back photos as well a live 360' video of the cut. This way Trisha could see the cut from all angle's. She blew me off for 2 weeks, and was so uncommunicative that the receptionist had to convey my needs. I almost cancelled but the receptionist assured me everything would be ok. I went to Trisha and she didn't pay attention to what I previously showed her in the video. She gave me the John & Kate plus 8 Karen haircut. Now I look like I want to speak to the manager . I can't send food back that's wrong . If someone is rude, I have to still be nice or someone will record me and label me Karen in the Wild . read more

I really love Sublime! They are my favorite salon in Valdosta and they do a GREAT job. Full disclosure - I worked front desk there a few years ago and have some great friends there. This does not change the fact that I think they have really talented stylists and great customer service. The hairstylists stay educated on the newest trends, and you honestly don't feel like you're in south Georgia when you step in. During your hair cut or color, you can choose from complimentary drinks like soda, water, beer, and wine. They don't mind giving you two either! The stylists have different prices based on how long they've been working/their experience, etc. Aubrey did my last cut and color and did an amazing job. I paid less than $200 with tip for balayage, toner, a cut, shampoo & blowdry, and style. It was GREAT! Love the lines of products they carry as well - I always leave with my hair feeling and smelling SO good. I have never left a review for a salon, but this is for the curly headed girls (all the curly types) in town who are searching high and low for someone who truly knows how to cut their hair. Look no further. Tricia is an amazing curly hair specialist. I was nervous and skeptical after tons of really bad hair cuts in my time, but she knows her stuff. She did an incredible job on my hair, took the time to listen to what I wanted and made it happen. She will be my go to from now on. I feel like I've struck gold. I booked an apt with the salon through text months in advance. I showed up early for my apt, checked in with the front desk and waited 45 min for them to tell me they didn't have me on their books. They were rude and made me feel stupid like it was my fault. They only apologized after I showed them texts to prove I had an appointment. They treated me so poorly and lost my business. read more

Everyone: If you know exactly what you want, come here. My girlfriend, her sister, her mother, my sister, my mother...all go here. Every time I'm in town (1-2 times a year), this is where I go. Great staff--skilled, friendly. They seem able to handle all types of customers with a wide range of needs (based on the experiences of my friends, family, and the clients I've seen in the salon). I used to see Aubrey. She was great but unfortunately she left abruptly and I got a call from the salon that week to reschedule with someone else. I saw Emily when I went in. She did an okay job but I wasn't impressed enough to return to her. I was overcharged by $50 for the services I usually got from Aubrey & on top of that, the male salon owner had the nerve to try to sell me on product after I paid my $180 + tip tab. How my bill got to $200 when it was always around $150 with Aubrey is a mystery. Emily obviously racked up the bill for me by using more toner than usual and glaze without asking. I was shocked and sad that not only did I have to find a new stylist but the salon actually took advantage of the situation instead of doing all they could to retain a client of 2+ years. That was my final visit. I don't take kindly to being taken advantage of. read more

The knowledgeable and professional staff at Sublime always make me feel comfortable and secure knowing I'm going to get the best cut, color, and service for my hair. One of the things that impress me most about Sublime is their in-house training and pursuit of continued excellence in haircare, styling, color, treatments, and cuts. My daughter and I used apprentice stylists Perry and Lauren, respectively, for our most recent appointments and we were both more than pleased with the results! The lead stylists were there to oversee the entire process and we were able to see their apprenticeship training first-hand. Had I not requested an apprentice, I would've never known they were not seasoned stylists, they are just that good! We received superb service at a manageable cost. I also have to address the Oribe products they use... Pricey? Yes! Worth it? Absolutely!!! I have tried other salon products that are sulfate-free, but never get the same results as I do from the Oribe line. I learned that little product goes a LONG way when using high-end products. I'm on a strict budget, so I want to get the most life out of my color, and Oribe helps me do that. It's a bit of a sticker shock, but when you factor in how many times you'd have to replace cheaper shampoos and how soon you would have refresh your color, it more than balances out. I've got my hair done by the apprentice Kasey twice now and i LOVE it! I asked for a dark brown/almost black ombre to dirty blonde and it turned out perfect. I just moved or I would be making her my go to girl. The salon has a big city feel in the middle of small town georgia. Everyone is always so friendly and helpful. read more

Totally fried my wife's hair and turned it purple and pink. They let a 19 year old "apprentice" work on her hair and then had the nerve to ask for $25 to at least pay for the products wasted destroying my wife's hair... Never go here!!! read more

I went to Sublime salon today for the first time to get a root touch up and bang trim. The salon is very nice and upscale and has a big city feel. All of the staff was very warm and friendly from the time I walked in the door to the time I left. Anna Beth was my stylist and she did an amazing job. She definitely took her time and did a thorough job and seemed very knowledgeable about what she was doing. She perfectly matched my roots to my hair color and it turned out beautifully. I also really liked the fact that she was personable and easy to talk to, which to me is very important in a stylist. If all that wasnt enough though the price was extremely reasonable and much less than what I was used to paying in my home town for the same services. I got home to find my cut was missing a chunk of hair. The stylist was friendly but had to be told many times to take the cut up more. She sniped a huge chunk of hair and thought nothing of it. It wasn't until I got home to assess my hair better that I saw the huge gap. I don't know if she was being passive aggressive or if she really thought it was okay but I couldn't believe she let me walk out like that. I had to buy scissors to correct it myself. Felt stupid cause I even left a huge tip for the amount of time it took to get my hair where it was before I left. Never again read more

Update: I went back. It was once again the best thing that's ever happened to my hair. Kacey is amazing and simply a joy to be around. Courtney was working the front when I arrived and helped answer several questions I had about some of the products the salon carries. Everyone I've spoken with here has been helpful and courteous, and I've never had to wait more than a few minutes past my appointment time. Sublime truly is the perfect name for this place. I've never really looked forward to getting my hair cut, but suddenly I'm counting down the days until I need to go back. Do yourself a favor and check this place out asap! read more

I love Sublime! I've been going to Kelly for maybe 6 months now, and she's great at what she does. Very creative, friendly, and has great ideas. I've been toying with getting bangs for years and she suggested them the first time I went to her- it's like she read my mind! I went there today based on the reviews from this site. I had the worst experience at a salon ever. I went in with clear directions to only trim my hair and make it only slightly shorter and gave a reference of a TV personality to replicate. My hairdresser, Emily, confirmed everything was understood and she could do it no problem. She asked about how she should cut my hair around the sides. I told her slightly shorter other than that I don't know the procedure used to get there. The next thing I know I am looking at locks of hair on the floor 4 inches long that were cut from the front. In what world does a slightly shorter trim mean 4" lopped off?!! I told her in no way did I mean for that much hair to be removed. She then asked how she should continue cutting my hair. Excuse me, you are the professional (at least your supposed to be!) I don't know the details of how to cut hair I only know what the end result should look like. She asked if she should trim my sideburn area in which I said yes. All the while my hair is looking more and more like a bowl cut (not at all what I wanted!) so she offers to get someone else to finish it. Another lady walks over with her and begins to tell me that it was an issue of miscommunication (NO IT IS AN ISSUE OF MISUNDERSTANDING AND LACK OF SKILL/EXPERIENCE!) and also told me that my hair cut was in the style I wanted. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!! Own your mistake, at least, certainly don't argue with the customer and try and convince them you are right. I have two eyes and can see that it is nowhere near what I wanted! They then say that I won't have to pay in a way like they are doing me a favor. I would've been happy to have my hair cut correctly and pay the full price! It is going to take the better part of a year to get my hair back to the original length and I am supposed to appreciate a free CRUMBY haircut!!? I would have appreciated EMILY telling me she had little experience and had no clue as to how to cut men's hair, at least, so I could have gone with someone else! In summation, EMILY, is a horrible hairdresser that should only be on the floor sweeping up cut hair and certainly not cutting anyone's hair that has to maintain a professional appearance. P.S. When I got home looking at my mess of a hair cut I saw that my left sideburn was a full half inch shorter than my right and angled downward (and gapped with longer bits). Emily, You can't even cut a straight line with a pair of clippers. GET A NEW PROFESSION!!! read more

Hairstylists do a phenomenal job for cut, color, and style. They have various levels of stylists all the way to 9. So depending on your price and willing to spend, I would consider what level stylist you choose but all stylists do a great job. The owner has all her stylists go through an apprenticeship program before doing hair. I have had a level 3 do mine these last 2 times I have been and loved the outcome! read more

They pulled the robbery on me! All over color turned into color correction...??? $80 a hour they told me.. My hair was one color when I went to Sublime and wanted a chocolate brown, my hair was light already but had a little red on the bottom layer so they said they needed to strip it out $20 (They put it on for 30 sec then the stylist said "oh wow! that came right out" and rinsed it out.. then I was told I received a deep conditioner but was never asked if I wanted it $20 (They never put me under the dryer instead left me in the shampoo bowl, OUCH!) Next I needed a filler $80 Then the all over color $80 again... When I asked for layers the stylist told me my hair was to thin for layers then charged me $45 for the cut.. At the end of all this my total ended up being $250.00 for brown hair.. I was shocked and felt taken advantage of.. Lesson learned always ask how much every step will cost, I have never paid that much for my hair in my life and I have had a full set of highlights before.. Never will I ever go back to Sublime! read more
