Wolf's Den - Authentic Moccasins of the best quality!

    Wolf's Den

We bought 3 pairs of mocassins here (and a couple pairs at Iron Horse too) over 10 years ago. And…read morethey're all only NOW starting to need replacement. My bf's pair in particular is getting to be in dire need of replacement. I decided to surprise him with a brand new pair for Christmas, though he knows I'm in the process of knitting him a pair of slippers (which will be rightfully ignored with the new mocassins!) Needless to say I wasn't going to bother with some cheap a$$ faux mocassins somewhere else, I knew I had to find the place we originally bought them. I could not remember the name of the place nor exactly where they were in town and so instinct was my driver. The first turn was right, but then I lost myself somewhere down the unmarked residential streets of town and had just resigned myself to heading back home over the bridge, with the intention of just telling my bf about the thoughtful gift I couldn't quite get on Christmas morning. When what to my wondering eyes did appear: " Wolf's Den, Mocassins, Gifts, Beads etc. ", instinct took the wheel and signaled left and turned in. I was not at all on the road I remembered it being on and first turned down. I had only gotten there because I got lost and decided to give up and go home empty handed. Christmas miracle folks. I walked in.. And knew I was in the right place. The service was fabulous, they were happy to hear my tale about their mocassins lasting over 10 years and to help me find a brand new pair. Then they told me it's an extra 10% off (on top of tax being included) for the last week before Christmas sale! They totally could have charged full price and I would have been happy to oblige. On top of authentic mocassins at super reasonable prices, they also sell plenty of beading material, furs for crafting, jewellery, clothing, souvenirs etc. Definitely worth checking out! I will be back, sooner rather than later to replace my own pair too!

The shop carries nicer, higher-end yarns. There are a lot of knitted samples to pique your creative interest. I didn't try their tea and pastries, but they have a nice, small selection. I bought a few items that were specific to La Maison Tricotée. The staff was so nice, welcoming, and helpful. I would recommend La Maison Tricotée to knitters, crocheters and yarn lovers. Even if you are not, but need to buy a gift for one, the helpful employees would give you guidance.

The young lady working that day showed me all around when I asked about local, hand dyed yarns and told me interesting things about each brand. I had a delightful cup of tea and even though it was nearing closing time, I never felt rushed. She even helped me choose a great place to go to dinner and recommended a great bar to visit with a cool atmosphere I loved (Darling bar). But then she really went above and beyond when my uber driver called and she spoke to him for me in French. I ended up needing to request another driver and she offered me to wait inside the store out of the cold rain while he arrived even though the shop was closing. On top of that, I bought beautiful yarn! I am so glad to have things to remember from this shop. Many yarn stores have fabulous yarn but it's customer service like this that makes people fall in love with the store. (The tea and baked goods don't hurt either.) How I wish it was my LYS and that I didn't live hundreds of miles away. I hope I get to visit it again. In the meantime, do yourself a favor and visit this store!

The tables are large, in case you want to study or work. I ordered several cookies and a cold brew. The cookies were amazing, I shared them between some friends and no crumbs were left alive. The cold brew was just okay, not amazing but good enough. The space for pottery is large and while I haven't taken a class, I would love to do that in the future. Overall, a great coffee place to visit and support

I visited with a foodie friend on an early Sunday afternoon for brunch and we were really satisfied. It got a bit busy but I managed to get a good table before the rush came in. The menu is simple but they have many good choices. I got the grilled cheese and it was delicious. I also got to try the soup of the day, it was bell pepper and carrot, it was also amazing. Came with little croutons and bread. We also got a piece of banana, coffee, and peanut butter cake. Pretty good for a vegan cake. It wasn't dry and the peanut butter icing was just sweet enough. I had a cold mochaccino with coconut milk and it was ok, I really don't like coffee that much though so maybe that's why I didn't love it. I thought it was bitter still even though there was only a bit of coffee in it. I needed a bit of caffeine to kick start my Sunday and that's why I got it. What I really like about this cafe is that they offer pottery classes in the building over. We could see the class while we ate, it looked fun! They also sell the creations of some of their Montreal artists in store. Service is also very nice and they are very friendly when answering questions about the menu.
