This was great -- among the best pastas we ate in Sardinia. We got the hors d'ouvres, macaroni with tomato sauce, gnochetti with wild boar sauce, and potato ravioli with tomato and basil. We originally had ordered the roast pork as well, which looked amazing, but there was a little bit of a mixup and we were full anyway, so we nixed it. The hors d'ouvres were mostly meats, some more adventurous than others, as well as a couple cheeses and mushrooms. Among the pastas, the macaroni was my favorite -- the noodles were thick and chewy and perfect. I also really liked the ravioli, which I'd put slightly ahead of the gnochetti. (My wife actually liked the gnochetti the best.) This probably could have been a five under different circumstances. We drove a long way to get here for lunch after a late night the night before, and had a couple tough moments on the drive. (Some of the backroads are interesting...) Still would recommend this place, but probably would suggest doing it differently than we did.

What a beautiful place. When you walk up to the front door, you notice the beauty but can't begin to understand how vast the compound is and all that it entails until you explore. As you walk through the property's maze, you realize all the rooms have special areas, views, patios, and hidden coves in their specific area. After walking through two hidden courtyards and up 4 flights of stairs we arrived at our room. We had the most charming room with a seated area, huge restroom and private deck with couches, chairs, tables and hot tub on it overlooking the Sardinian mountains. I wish I could describe all the sections and areas of the compound but I cannot do it justice. I of course liked the outdoor roasting area, champagne service area, the place where the outdoor bar meets the red hammock space and the huge pool. The dinner was outstanding. Afterwards, I went to the indoor bar and heard some great local Sardinian sounds before enjoying the outdoor hot tub. The next morning the birds woke me up and then after a fantastic breakfast on their terrace, I went on one of their jeep excursions in the National Forrest. These were some of the highlights. I look forward to returning and staying longer.
We have been eating at Su Gologone for years and it is one of my favorite restaurants in the Nuoro-Oliena area. They have great cocktails, very good food (all the pasta dishes are delicious) with amazing roasted pork (porcetto) and or sausage, and a great Sebada for dessert. Service is very friendly and the overall feel of both the veranda in the summer or dining room in the winter is very welcoming and guest oriented. read more
Good, hearty food. The pasta with wild boar sauce was really good. The sweet and sour boar was outstanding and the goat stew was a close second. The ricotta gelato with pine nuts was rich, creamy deliciousness. read more
This was the best restaurant I ate in Sardinia. I went during the Summer of 2021 and because of covid restrictions, might have been the only American Tourist in all of Sardinia! Haha! I asked my hotel to call and make reservations which they did. When I showed up, that was the first thing they asked me-if I had a reservation though the restaurant never filled up more than 50%. So I'll be honest, I'm not sure why they even asked me but make a reservation! It's also a bit of a drive, being in the middle of near no where. I ordered a ravioli with fennel, the su filindeu soup, the sliced tomato vegetable dish, the porchetto, and finally for my dolce the ice cream. The ravioli might have been the best ravioli I have ever had in my life! It was was of those moments where I stopped as I didn't think ravioli could taste this good. Seriously, it was amazing and all it had was fennel inside! The su filindeu was one my top things to eat coming to Sardinia! I actually tried somewhere else but failed and didn't know they serve it here! I asked them about it and they told me currently only 2 women know how to make it. They were so happy that I had known so much about it, that they even gave me some su filindeu! How cool is that?! And of course, it's really good! The tomato dish I had with my porchetto and they both go really well together. The porchetto meat by itself is tasty, but with the skin! Heaven! Seriously, don't leave Sardinia w/o eating some porchetto. Finally, the ice cream. It was also amazing! I was so blown away at how good it was. I think among my top 10 ice creams and I've eaten a ton of ice cream! Sheesh, this restaurant really nails it. I drove all the way from Alghero (a 2hr drive) but totally worth it! Absolutely make time to eat here. read more

This is one of those very special places that exist in the world and if you're lucky enough to come here you will not be disappointed. The service is wonderful and the fauna and Flora of the place is spectacular. The abundance of beautiful flowers exist throughout the whole place. They're beautiful little nooks to hang out and play cards or just relax and meditate. The fresh air is rewarding and the ambience of peacefulness feels the soul with a quiet that is so difficult to find today in the world. read more

The stars are for the location which is superb, the food heavy and devoid of originality

We got an eye roll when we walked in to make a reservation the day before. This should have been an indication of things to come. But it was a beautiful iconic setting so we trusted Sardegna & Su Gologone for a lovely meal. Incorrect! First of all, we were seated in what we can only describe as "the tourists"/outcasts section by the buggy area by the pool (not in the hip part of the restaurant). It took 15 min to even have someone get our drink order. The primi piatti (pasta) was undercooked (we love al dente but this was just HARD), none of the food impressed, service was slow & attitudinal and it was a waste of a Sardinian meal. Don't go. We are foodies super underwhelmed and annoyed. read more
