You can walk in, but the only thing is make sure you walk in early on weekdays, otherwise you'll get a long wait because appointments take priority. Walking in around opening to 1PM is safe and someone will take care of you pretty fast. For just a regular men's haircut, you're looking at $30. I usually just hand them $40 and call it a day. They are CASH ONLY, but they have an ATM inside, which has a small fee, so make sure you get cash in your hands before going. I've gone there on and off for 3 years now and I've never once had a bad cut, and I've been through every barber in there. Sousa(spelling?) and Mike are my favorites there, but this is just personal preference, they're ALL good. The atmosphere is very open and chill, some guys like to talk, some are on the quieter side, some are on their phone constantly, but they treat you good. Lots of nice Staten Island decoration inside, lots of Wu-Tang representation, and some of the boys from Wu actually come here. Parking is a bit of an issue. It's paid parking on the street, but I rarely see anyone ever pay. Pretty sure the cops know it'd hurt businesses if it was enforced. I've never paid for parking and never had trouble but that's for you to decide to do or not. I could just be lucky. Overall, I love this place. I highly suggest y'all come if you need a cut. I have chronic anxiety and panic disorder, especially in social situations, and even though I still have trouble going inside, I feel pretty chill when I'm in there, so if I'm comfortable enough, you will be too.

The place: Conveniently located near the Grant City train station, which back when I commuted on the train was perfect. Not to worry if you drive there though, as there is plenty of street parking. They are all friends and genuinely have been friends for years, so that makes the atmosphere feel authentically friendly and down-to-earth. The atmosphere/shop itself: super clean, usually playing music that ranges from classic rock, to old hip hop and metal. The music selection is like a box of chocolates ... yanevahknowwutchagunnagit. They have local artists work displayed, as well as a few random items placed through the shop that all have stories. Here's one ... there's a glass dalmatian that was donated by a fireman. They put it by the front window and gave it a fireman's hat. Stuff like that. If you want a friendly old-school barber shop, this is your spot. There's conversation, witty banter, and a masculine feel, while at the same time being family friendly (the barbers themselves are family people.) The haircuts: I have seen these gents (and gal!) cut just about all types of haircuts and fades. I would end up going back to Queens because I didn't trust anyone else with my hair cut. I was googling around and by luck I found Next Level Barber shop. I started coming to this location, I was coming to them since they were located next door. Gary was my first barber at Next Level and I kept coming back to Gary. He cut my hair perfectly and just the way I wanted it. Once you choose your barber you can call or text your barber for an appointment. Sadly I moved to Long Island and haven't been back to Staten Island and miss Gary as my barber! The place is always clean and the people who run the place are very nice and accommodating. Great place to come!! Highly recommended!!!!!
