I've been to 3 Shecky's Girls' Night Outs and 2 Style Fixx. In the past, I've felt that Shecky's had a better goodie bag but Style Fixx threw a better event. Well, last week's Style Fixx swung me fully onto its side! The bag - which was a non-shoulder bag (DEFINITELY needs to be a shoulder bag - luckily I won one!) was stuffed with great goodies. I could not believe the stuff I got! I don't know why anyone would pay for the non-goodie bag ticket. We paid only $15 each (2-for-1) and it was more than worth it! The big plus for Style Fixx is food! They had free samples of sushi (which I don't eat), Upper Crust pizza & some spinach thing (soo tasty), desserts from Finale and some other brownie place and Cabot Cheese!! YUM. We each got 5 drinks - I had 2 glasses of Moscato from Barefoot and 1 martini-style drink that was not strong but good. I didn't end up buying anything, but I found great gifts for my bridal shower hostesses (which we will be ordering) and potentially groomsmen gifts! There were less vendors than previous events, which was nice as it wasn't so crowded. Always a great time! read more

For the second year in a row, I went to Styleifixx with some friends and walked away with some cool finds, a schwag bag and a belly full of of complimentary booze. Though I only have two years of experience, I can see that this year was an improvement over last year...better gifts in the schwag bags, quick and smooth check-in, more vendors, higher-end brands and plenty of choices for drinks. Thought it would be nice to see some local alcohol brands in sponsorship spots, I can see the mass appeal of Miller's version of Blue Moon and Budlight Lime. I just don't drink them myself. This year's five-star purchase came in the form of a sweet pair of Marc Jacobs' sunglasses! I'd been searching for a new pair of shades with summer just around the corner, and the pair I found here were absolutely perfect and about half the price I would have found them at a retail store. Warning: If you utilize all of your free drink tickets on actual alcohol (and why wouldn't you?) you may have slightly impaired judgment and wake up the next morning with something you would have never bought while sober. Really? I bought that? I have been going to these events since they started coming to Boston and I have almost mastered the delicate balance between fully taking advantage of the open bar and maintaining sufficient sobriety to make wise choices. The designers, vendors and sponsors have improved dramatically since Stylefixx's first few forays at the Cyclorama. I have found some really great jewelery and purses here. The only negatives I can think of is the swag bag has to be picked up at the beginning of the evening and are pretty heavy (this last one had an entire can of coffee in it) and I think the event has outgrown the Cyclorama. I hate to say that because I love the space and location but it just gets crazy crowded in there. Here are a few tips: The event usually starts at 5. Get there as close to 5 as possible as it starts to fill up around 6ish. Bring a big canvas bag for the swag bag stuff. It's much easier to carry around in a bag you can swing over your shoulder instead of having the strings on the small, overstuffed shopping bag cutting into your hand. Bring a friend that can be brutally honest with you and not let you buy silly things. read more

I'm not big on crowds of girls so though I begged two of my friends to come to this event with me last night, I was a little anxious about the event. It was better than I could have imagined. We arrived at around 5, picked up our swag bags with a few full sized products and found out that with our entry ticket we received 5 drinks. The 5 drinks alone were worth the price of the ticket- though I recommend sticking with the Stella. I found some great jewelry here that I was unable to resist. There were also some great bags on display and we got plenty of discount coupons for services around Boston. My skeptical friends and I ended up having a great time! All the women in the room were in great moods, no one was rude. It was super fun! read more

This review should have been written over a year ago, but just wanted to share my thoughts on StyleFixx since it is today's Groupon. Personally, I had gotten a free ticket in with a free schwag bag. Had I not gotten a free ticket I probably would have never gone to StyleFixx. Now I appreciate the schwag bag with it's goodies, really I do. I even took advantage of some of the coupons and other things in it. But walking around, none of these vendors really impressed me and personally I felt they were way overpriced for what it's really worth. While it was nice to walk away with some samples from some, most of it was junk anyway. Additionally, after having gone to one of these, I would never spend the $15 they want outta you just to walk in the door. Or maybe I'm just el-cheapo and way out of place here. *shrugs* read more

I won a pair of tickets to StyleFixx which makes me feel bad that I can't give them a higher rating. I have to be honest here though. Pros: *5 free drinks. I didn't stay long enough to enjoy all 5 free drinks.. but hey, I was happy. *swag bag. It had some cool stuff in it. free nail polishes, vitamin water, power bars, coupons for some free deals. *cute bartenders. It helps being served by some eye candy :) Cons: *not enough booze choices. I stuck with the bubbly cause I'm not a fan of beer and the wine tasted really cheap. *high prices on dresses that I could find at marshalls. *not enough free food. There was one restaurant that was giving out free chinese meatballs and rice. the meat balls we spicy and not very good and the rice was very undercooked!! I felt like i was crunching on cereal. places like upper crust and noir was serving food but it wasn't free. Pizza for $3 a slice is not appealing. I'll go to my pizza joint down the street and pay less for a bigger slice! the sushi prices weren't bad but still not enough for me to buy. *very pushy vendors. i almost felt obligated to buy there products even if I just looked at piece of jewelry or dress. I was grateful I won the tickets, because honestly.. I wouldn't pay to buy a ticket to this event. read more

Second year my mom and I went together, and it was so much fun! Five free drinks with your bracelet, what!?! And the bartenders are a bunch of hottie guys dressed to the 9's. The goodie bags had misc. items, including a kickass hairspray, and Lindt's Dark Chocolate - yum! There were many booths with people handing out various items, I walked away with a bunch of cream for my face. My mom bought a cute "tulip" raincoat. There were purses that were made from this man in NYC, that were one of a kind, genuine leather, south western style - So cool. The drinks ranged from, martinis, wine, beer, I was looking for the Sophia Coppola Champagne, that was there last time, which I didn't see and I was bummed about because that was my drink of choice last time. Cabot cheese, sushi, Finale' cookies, Upper crust pizza... Sex toys, dog toys, and tons of jewelry. It's great to go with a female fam member, or great girlfriends. I recommend taking public transit, because parking was a bitch. Have fun! read more

STYLEFIXX 2012 BOSTON was the biggest BUST!! SWAG BAG??? More like GAG BAG. A tube of peanut butter...a luna bar...and a sample of some hair spray that lasted one squirt. I paid over $30 for nothing. Every giftcard in the bag is a complete fraud. One was $20 to Jewel Mint . com and the codes didnt even work at checkout!! It took two hours for customer service to only tell me she had to look into it and email me later..! Oh and dont even get me started on the drinks....you got a kiddy cup that was half way filled with wine. There were no passed finger foods or anything, guess your just supposed to eat your luna bar with peanut butter. There was a dessert sample but it was literally all hardened cold chocolate, I guess that was their caffeine for the night. Most things were over priced for the quality. There was a raffle on every corner but it really just felt like they wanted your emails the most, and I have now been getting junk email. The only good thing were these cell phone cases they were selling for the iphone with interchangeable backs...and they did have designer sunglasses. When it comes down to it, they try and hype it up as an exclusive girls night on the town, and push these swag bags on you like you are getting great samples when really your just plain getting robbed. And on top of it all, in the fine print is the only place your going to see this event is 21+. When they should state that way before hand considering a 20 year old friend of mine bought a ticket and wasnt informed in large print until after the transaction was complete, and there are no transfers or refunds. Oh well learned my lesson on this one. read more

I went to my first Stylefixx event. It was awesome! I could not beleive the great freebees. Got to try all kinds of food, drinks, and got sampls of all kinds of stuff. Would have preferred not to see any party plans. I don't consider them "designers". I would much prefer more designers showing their items. All in all......super fun....super cool...just super! I am super excited for SF! Robin and I are coming back again this year and are bringing some friends who spent all winter kvetching about how "we" went and didn't invite them last May. LOL SRSLY.. the cost of the ticket was questionable for me but after we went and ate, shopped, drank, shopped, and ate again it was completely worth it. I was worried that it was going to have kind of a low-rent feel to it but I was pleasantly surprised to see some quality items for sale at a huge discount!! (The saleslady was a little pushy though..) I haven't been to any of the other shopping events before but I can't really see what they would do better than SF. It kicks off my spring and I look forward to seeing it again! I would suggest people try it out (but keep a clear space at the Finale table for me...I cannot get enough chocolate mousse cups!) read more

First of all, it's got to be known that I LOVE shopping. It's one of those love-til-it-hurts-my-credit-card-limit kinda deals. So imagine how excited I was when I learned that StyleFixx is having another shopping event this week. I was at the event series last year in November and had a really fun time. They had AMAZING cocktails, let me tell you, and that Ketel One ice sculpture was fab! I also spoke to one of the managers who were there and got a bit of background info on the company, which was really cool. Essentially, they're working to help build the brand equity for local Boston boutiques, which is why they have so much product passing and sampling at their events. I think it's pretty cool that StyleFixx tries to support local independent designers, since they're often lost in the crowd of the more recognized macro-companies/labels. Anyways, thought this bit of info was interesting since I'm in school for marketing and branding and this is what I want to get into after graduation. Moving on to the vendors - I was checking out the StyleFixx website and noticed that they had a lot of new cute vendors showing up this week like Sabon and Luna Boston, and hello....free makeovers by Stila and manis by MiniLuxe??? I'm so there. Got my tix already and going with some of my girls. Will give a recount on the event after this week. read more

This was a fun event, but smaller than I anticipated. Also, we only received 2 free drinks - I had expected more. The vendors were fun, and we got a bag of goodies to take home. Of course, not everything in the bag was desirable. But, it was a fun night for not that high an admission cost. read more

I attended this years event after trying to redeem my debacle of a birthday with that other GNO event in town this year. The gift bag alone made me feel better about the money i spent (groupon and boston deals are your friends ladies), not that the bag had a huge value but, much better than what i've received this year at a few other GNO events in town. 5 drinks and a lot of random games with vendors giving away prizes and decent clothing deals with local shops i had never known of. Me and my friends had a better night and left with a lot more samples and items than we needed, but we left happy, and that made the trip worth it. read more

SO worth the $15 groupon we paid to get in. Comes with FOUR drinks - made my money back already! Awesome raffles and a tanning wheel where you can easily win a free spray tan or even a month of spray tanning! Gorgeous jewelry at all diff price ranges. Affordable clothes as well as more $$$ stuff. Great scarves and candles. LOVED it. Food is limited so maybe eat a little something before you go. Dress cute! read more

This made for a fun night out with a friend. The ticket price was cheap and the 5 "free" cocktails you recieve more then made up for the ticket price. There were a lot of good buys ( a whole bag of full sized makeup for $5.00) and a free gift bag with some great goodies. The only downside is that you spend a lot of time waiting in lines ( though the cocktails help with this) and it would be nice if there were more vendors. read more

What a fun night! I cannot wait to bring more friends in October. My roommate was jealous when I got home with my swag bag full of goodies and it planning to come in October with me. There were so many great free giveaways in the Swag bag. Healthy food, moisturizers, veet, etc etc. I am still trying to organize it all so I can use it all. As for vendors, there were so many great items to choose from. I got a very nice watch. VERY VERY nice watch. Among other items and signed up for some great deals with Healthworks for classes. The only negative was it was very crowded with tons of women with excessive bags. Maybe pocketbooks shouldn't be allowed because those plus swag bags was lethal especially combined with 5 FREE Drinks! Nuts! Oh and parking! The garage was full and there was no Valet for the event but tons of Valets guys out front. That should change. Make sure you go in October this is an event not to be missed. read more

I am a big fan of the "Pay $15 Get free drinks and a swag bag" Girls Night Out events. However, after last night I realized that the StyleFixx is a poor imitation of the original Shecky's Girl's Night Out. The Stylefixx swag bag s*cked. There were two bottles of juice in it and a little bottle of wine. The juices were disgusting and we threw those out. What was left was a $5 gift card to Finale (which gets one of the two star ratings), a shampoo and conditioner sample, a Lindt bar of chili chocolate (this gets the second star) and some free propaganda magazine. At Shecky's two months ago I got THREE Lindt bars of chocolate, a full bottle of salon shampoo, a full tube of toothpaste, and a Swiffer! One of the cocktail servers bumped into my friend resulting in some of her drink spilling on her sweater. Instead of the server apologizing he said, "If it makes you feel any better some of it got on me too." !!!! ???? F*ck you, a**hole cocktail server!! The shopping wasn't very good. I bought a brownie from the Yummy Mummy stand and was looking at the baby t-shirts that said "Got Chocolate" on them. A worker at the stand came over and yelled at me, "CAN I HELP YOU!?!?" Is that how they treat a paying customer? So I'll be back to Shecky's but will skip StyleFixx next time its in town. read more

I went to the Stylefixx event in New York last night. It was a good event but I do have a suggestion for the future. It's not responsible to have basically unlimited alcoholic drinks and not offer food of any kind to the patrons. There was a Cabot cheese vendor who gave out samples but nothing else. There were many drunk women there considering that the last meal most of us had would have been lunch. Please have food at your next NY event. read more

i am giving this a good review b/c i got in free and got the bag of goodies. i am very glad of all the free drinks they were giving out. i was hoping that they had more food but it wasn't too bad, afterall, you can take alot of small bits and still get fairly satisfied. they had alot of free drinks like fuse and some other brand. haru and finale were there giving out free samples, which was really nice. extra bonus for some pretty hot and flirty studs in the event ^_- read more

Who wouldn't want to attend an event where there's a SWAG BAG involved!? StyleFixx Girl's Night Out is what it is. I've only attended one, but it was a marvelous evening out with my girls. The drink selection is impressive, and with your wristband, you get up to 5 beverages! I personally enjoyed the Barefoot Wine all night, but they have a pretty decent beer selection, as well as delicious pretty pretty princess pink mixed drinks! While browsing all the trendy booths and watching exhibits, you get to sip back on a beverage of choice and share good times with the girls! Not to mention for a small price, you can sample DELICIOUS snacks such as sushi, mini burgers, and pizza for under 4 bucks...and if you stick around late enough, they'll pawn these off for free!(my friends and i had like 10 free California rolls at the end of the night since they had leftover!) There are also fun activities, like the station where you can have a hair makeover--i waited in line for about a half hour, but i got to sit up on stage and have a professional do my hair for me and show me how to create much-needed volume--oh what fun it is to be pampered for a night! In all, Girl's Night Out is a great value, well worth the price you pay for your admission! The Swag Bag is full of products such as hair sprays, shampoo, lip gloss, snacks, CHOCOLATE, makeup--need I go on? I'd recommend this to any girl I know to try at least once! :D read more
