I have visited on at least 3 occasions and every time they indicate specific requests and never take the items they are asking about consigning. I have multiple items with tags from lululemon, athletca, loft, anthropology and they do not take those items. The store mostly has name brands from old navy, kohls and Walmart that are NOT current from this year - maybe 5-10 years ago. I love going here to pick up a few jewelry pieces, purses or sometimes I score a great dress. The clothes they take are for the most part name brand and in good condition. You do need to try everything on because sometimes there are stains or rips and nothing is marked true to size so don't be shy to try a size or 2 larger than your normal size - it's okay girls it's just a number! read more

I shopped in here for a while, it is right next to Plato's Closet. Where Plato's offers casual and sports wear clothing, Style Encore offers more dressy clothing. They accept selling clothing, but only if it is 1-2 years old and certain higher end brands. The racks are jam packed with clothing, which made it a little difficult to navigate and find something. They do organize the clothing nicely though. Although they sell some name brand items, I think the price can be a bit high at times. I saw a pair of black pants for the same price I found them at Tj Maxx/Marshall's. I was surprised to see they were charging the same amount for something lightly used, when I can purchase it new elsewhere. If you are looking for formal wear for work, then this can be a great place to stop in and check. Just make sure to price check for the great price! Sometimes you can find a steal. read more

I called earlier in the day before I stopped in and asked if I needed an appointment to sell my clothes.I was told they had openings and to come in. I came in and was greeted very rudely. I was asked if I had an appointment and I stated I didn't but I called. They wouldn't make an appointment for me and to even try and look at my stuff. She rudely grabbed one dress out of my hamper and said "nice dress but no". The customer service here is disgusting. Save yourself the time and skip this place. I am sad to report that I had a terrible experience here. I called the day prior to ask about their policies as they related to Platos Closet. I also checked their website - both of which failed to mention two important policies that you not only 1) Need to schedule an appointment ahead of time and 2) Your items must be in a plastic bin. This makes zero sense as their partner store Platos Closet requires items to be in reusable bags. The woman at the door was extremely rude and a follow-up phone call to make an appointment was met with another rude lady on the phone! I'm a huge proponent of shopping second-hand first, and this is my go to store! I absolutely love shopping here. They all have a good variety of on-trendy pieces at very affordable prices, and the store is super well organized and has a boutique feel to it. While I don't always find what I'm looking for, this is always a good first stop when I'm looking to add new pieces to my wardrobe. Came here to sell some items and it was a great experience. They explained the process and I ended up leaving the clothing for them to go through it and came back 30 mins later for them to let me know what they would take and how much they would offer for it. You can't expect a lot of money for the clothes but at least it's something. Terrible! I've gone there twice now, and the same girl (dark hair short hair and glasses) has checked my stuff both times. The first time she didn't even review my stuff, and only picked out four items out of 5 boxes. Second time I know she didn't look bc they told me it would be 45 min, and she called me up after 5 min. I had simple skirts that still had the tag on them. I've seen items there that look worse and way older than what I brought in. DON'T SELL OR SHOP HERE!!! read more

I liked this place for nice used clothes. I was shocked that the retail worker behind the register Sammy openly said the owner pushed them to price items high end purses for higher than what they tell poor, unsuspecting customers they will sell the item for. So they give customers a low ball price and then hike up the price they sell it for to get more profits. My friend and I both took our purses out of there and will find a more honest business to deal with. We couldn't believe a worker would say this out loud so customers could hear it. Awful the way this young little snob addressed me. I called before I drove 40 minutes out to Style Encore and specifically asked if they took children's coats and I was told yes. I brought in 2 large bins of clothes. Most of them women's dry cleaned and pressed. 7 jeans, Tahari pants, 3 pair of gorgeous suede and leather pants, Bebe and Max Studio pants and shirts. When the snotty girl at the counter saw the girls coats she gave me such a terrible attitude. So I pulled the girls Brand New Justice and Old Navy coats out and she said "I see a bug". There was no bug! It was a peice of fuzz! The clothes, all cleaned, were put in clean bins. She wouldn't even look at anything else. There was beautiful high end clothing but she turned her nose in the air and told me she would take NOTHING! What a horrendous experience and unbelievably disrespectful behavior. Has not had good experience with Style Encore....I do not know how they rate clothing received. I have taken clothes and shoes to Style Encore, brand new. I leave and come back and they accept one or two pieces. The person working tells me my stuff is old and out of date. Upon checking the merchandise (clothes and shoes) on the floor I don't understand how my stuff is out dated compared to old and worn on the floor selling. Something is wrong here. I thing the workers are biased and do not know clothes and shoes. I will not be going back as clearly old stuff do not sell and new stuff is returned not to sell to the owners . Horrible first impression. First off I was chastised for putting my things in a shopping cart and then for having them on hangers. When I called no one told me that I wasn't able to keep them on hangars. I wasn't even allowed to come into the store with all my things because I was told the shopping cart might bump the door frame? Are you kidding? This frumpy woman proceeded to go through my things half heartedly as if she didn't want to bother, while we stood in the inside doorway of the store. While she was going through them, they were sliding off onto the floor. A cream lace Alfani tunic on the floor in the doorway caught between the doorframe and the shopping cart!! Also, most of my things had original tags on them and most were from Macy's and included INC, Alfani, DKNY, Style &Co, Calvin Klein. She said they were too old. Most of the items were between 1-3 years old and a couple weren't quite a year as I wore it to last years Christmas party. She also questioned me as to why most of the items had tags still on them. I said "because I never wore them". I asked her why would you say that? She replied "I just had to wonder why so many had tags." If you want to be treated like crap, this is the place to come, otherwise shop or sell elsewhere. I was unable to rate them on their website as it wasn't taking the review at the time. This place is run by people who care more about money than customer satisfaction or even their employees. They are completely fake to your face to make themselves look better than they actually are. In order to save themselves money they lied to my face about what they were selling an item of mine for and then after paying me for what I thought was a fair price, they made the item $150 more than what they bought it from me for. As I'm sure they thought it was as simple as lying to me about the price of what they were making the item, they then posted it on their Instagram page-which I follow- with the price that was way higher than what I had SIGNED AWAY AGREEING ON. If you sell them any of your higher end bags, most likely they have done this to you as well. For general clothing you receive about 1/3 of what they sell it for it but when you bring in higher end items you get 1/2 of the cost. The boss doesn't like that so she tells the employees what price to make it, and then majority of the time she then prices it higher in the store because she knows she can get more for it only she is scamming you because YOU could have gotten more for it. read more

I am a reseller for a living and sometimes when I get overwhelmed with inventory I will bring in items to Plato's closet or clothes mentor to declutter and make some extra cash. This time, I decided that I would give style encore a try, despite reading the mostly negative reviews. I ended up driving half and hour out and came out with NOTHING. I brought in brand new with tags BCBG and multiple high end labels and it was all denied. The cashier told me it was due to the "multiple staining" on various items. Now keep in mind, As a RESELLER I do NOT buy items to SELL that have stains, and otherwise it's never worn and put in storage if not sold. There were NO stains. On top of all this they threw all my items in the bin like it was trash and didn't even both after only 10 minuets of looking over and couldn't even fold it decently? do not go here unless you want to WASTE your time and endure HORRIBLE customer service. read more

I was in Michigan visiting family and friends! I came across this store. Right when I walked in I noticed how clean and color organized it was, shopping is sometimes overwhelming for me because theres so much to look at! But I was able to go straight to the fall colors and found some cute things right off the bat. I didn't have to do much digging, some consignment shops I've been to in the past the racks are packed so full it's hard to see the garments. The sales associates were very helpful. Brought in some items, including Michael Kors Fur Top Tall Suede Boots. We I asked for the itemized price on the boots, the woman told me I couldn't see it, but she could tell me how much they offered me. She had put in the system "Michael Kors Ankle Boots" with a price of 16.00. When I explained to her that they were not even close to ankle boots, she said she must have put in the wrong description. She then put in the correct information (I had previous given her the original box with the info. on it) and tried to offer me 39.00. I commented about the big discrepancy between prices and she again said she had made a mistake. I choose to keep the boots because it was hard for me to believe that she mistook a pair of tall winter boots for "ankle boots". Similar experience with a Northface Pack able Jacket that was almost new. She offered 11.00 and I grabbed that back as well. If you have something of value, please ask for the itemized price list. Cool stuff and a good clearance when we went in. Got a top for about 3.50! Cool store you have to look but you can find good stuff....... not for old ladies like I thought lol and better than platos.
