As a shopper I love Stuff hit on a "good day"! As a consignor I am DONE. I have taken so many items there over the last 2 years and have never gotten a print out of what I left, Only times have been if too large for the tote of which you are allowed 5 items. I have taken furniture items still on the floor at a local store and never ever got any credit at all! where did it go? Took several fancy wear items with tags from a cancelled cruise, never seen again. Questioned the incident told must have been out of style. Oh really? I could go on and on. From now on DAV and Salvation Army will get my reruns ,knowing they will help someone in need and not the greedy. read more

Always receive great customer service, especially every time I come in to consign stuff and deal with Samantha. Prices are great, especially during their bi-annual half off sales! Do not take your consignment items here!!!!!! A month ago in September I brought a box full of designer leather purses here and opened an account. When I went in today and asked for a list of my items they don't know where they are....smells fishy to me. I guess they just go through your items and lift out what they want for themselves in the back. read more

Overpriced and always messy. I would not recommend this place in either position, buyer or seller. We have experienced both sides and it is extremely obvious this store just doesn't care. On the buying side, the prices are very random and inconsistent. Whoever is doing the prices does not know what they are doing. You can't charge premium prices for people garage sale left overs. And the organization of the store is pitiful. Some isles have products just thrown on top of each other, forcing you to have to dig through items. A lot of the items are broken or missing vital pieces. The item's prices are lowered the longer they are there, but I have noticed several times that items are post dated by up to 2 weeks, and tags have been changed if they think the item is valuable. On the selling side, RUN ! Unless you absolutely don't care about your items, take them somewhere else. We have had items lost, broken, and have also had items "appear" with ours, presumably lost from someone else's incoming tote. The amount we receive for our items is ridiculous as well. I would rather take my items to Goodwill, at least they do good for the community, and for the little amount Stuff pays out, I will take the loss. The customer service is horrible as well. If we call or ask in store about an item that is missing from our list, or why an item was returned, they never have an answer. We have also found items in the store of ours that have been broken, either by the intake staff or a customer, and they could care less. I would not recommend this business for buyers OR sellers. read more

Stuff Etc. isn't really a thrift store, it's a consignment store. As I wandered through the aisles I puzzled over this piece of information, as the place was full of junk. Honestly, Goodwill is better. Things for sale were dingy looking or missing parts. The store is large, but shelves were sparsely stocked. The glass case meant for silent auction items was nearly empty, and the things that were inside were entirely uninteresting. Another problem facing Stuff Etc. in Davenport is that its sibling store in Iowa City is echelons above it. Not only is there more merchandise, but better merchandise. The store in Iowa City isn't the cheapest thrift-type store around, but prices are fair. The store in Davenport is overpriced. I was really let down on visiting this store. There are many better secondhand stores in the area as well as in the Stuff Etc. chain. read more

I was in the Davenport store on 1/20/20 with my 2 sisters. Winter items were supposed to be 50% off. I chose a sweater that said "winter" on the tag but Tristin checked me out and missed the discount on that item. When I asked him about it he said " too late. I didn't see "winter" on the tag, it was covered by the plastic thing that attached the price tag. Nothing I can do about it now, your card has been charged." I do not appreciate the lack of customer service and blatant disregard for his mistake. I feel he should have offered to correct his mistake with an in-store credit or cash refund but he just acted like ( tough; it's your problem). My sisters and I won't be back unless this mistake is corrected. I will spread the word and it won't help your business any. I also feel like your prices for old, used shoes and purses are too high. $20 for man made pleather, used boots?? You can buy them new for that. Being greedy and making your prices this high is not good for business, neither are employees that don't give a damn about the customers. read more

Been in there a few times, I look every time and it's like a high priced thrift store. I know I can get the things I see elsewhere for much less. I've really tried to like this place, but just don't. It's a consignment store, I know my retail prices and frankly cannot see paying the prices they want on used items. To some it's a bargain I suppose.... Be careful driving through the parking lot if you're heading to Big Lots, since stuff moved in, people drive every which way through the lot, ugh. read more

Today was Stuff Ect. half off sale. I bought a ticket for an early bird access. I just recently had a baby and a c-section so my father went with me to pick up the sofa. The sales associate was very rude. She would not let him in the store to pick up the sofa because he didn't have a ticket. She made him stand outside in the cold (10 Degrees) while I looked and paid for the sofa. Once I paid they wanted me to help lift the sofa. I told the sales associate that I just had a baby and a c-section just last week and that I could not help. She acted disgusted and told me to get my father so that he could help. There was only one other customer in the store at the time. We are very dissatisfied with how we were both treated today. We do not plan to shop at Stuff Ect. in the future. read more

I used to like this place....before I became a consignor. So, lets get to the part where I liked it first. The store is about the same as a Goodwill, only with more items. There are a few items that Stuff Ect will not take, such as old cell phones and VCR tapes. The prices are really great, equal or better prices than Goodwill. Even better, after items have been on the floor for 60 days, the prices drops by 50%. They also have coupons you can use. I love shopping there. Now, as far as the consigning, I dont like it much. The store gets 60% of whatever you bring in to consign. (too much in my opinion). They have different people working in the receiving department so two items might be exactly the same, but priced differently if received by two different people. I have had items refused just because the receiver didn't think it was cute, or in style. I just this week took in an Under Amour sweatshirt and it was refused??? I have been told they wont take a certain item that I have, but then I see it on a shelf from some other consignor. For example, they claim they dont take tins.....yet at Christmas time I saw many tins on the shelf. I feel a whole tub of clothing I dropped off for consignment went missing. They are supposed to e mail you a list of the items they take after you drop of and they have received them. I have had to request those e mails several times. Bottom line is, you are not going to get much out of consigning here. But, you can find almost anything in the store at a great price. read more

Drop off your things and they will not send you a list. This has happened twice. I have yet to see anything sold from these two drop offs. NEVER tell them that you will donate what they don't want. They won't want anything! During the summer I brought in an expensive pair of jeans. Guess what I got for them? TWENTY CENTS!! I think the check in people get first dibs on what comes in and they name their price. Not impressed. read more
