Open Studios is a studio and gallery which sometimes hosts art shows to showcase the work of their artist residents. Basically, the artists open up their studios and work spaces to visitors and we can go in, see the artwork up close, and discuss the art process, media, muses, etc. I would like to give a special mention to the guy at Firefly Press. He invited me and a friend into his studio, showed us all of his amazing turn of the century/mid-century printing equipment, and even let us work one of the printing presses! Definitely a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon. I will be back for future art showcases.

Washington Street Art/Studios & Gallery is *not* closed!…read more We suspended our exhibits from March 2020 through August 2021, and have had our doors open since our group exhibit, "Back to the Drawing Board," in September 2021. We held a fundraiser for the Somerville Homeless Coalition in February 2022, and just participated in the 100% in-person Somerville Open Studios this past weekend (April 30th and May 1st)!
