I uncovered a session of incredible, haunting photos that she took of her own daughter in Parc Outremont one Fall and was instantly sold by their colors, composition, and the portrait of the fragile, fleeting beauty of childhood. Since Kate is a mom, she knows how to relate to kids and how to coax the most beautiful belly laughs and joyful expressions out of them. What she was able to get out of my three year-old daughter and me in that hour or so was pure gold. My favorite photo of my daughter is one that Kate captured during that session, and that's saying a lot since we must have thousands of pictures of our baby girl by now! Has it really been seven years since I went on record shouting about Shoshana and Aglow's work?…read more I've only been MORE impressed since. I hired her to shoot portraits of my parents and their 50th anniversary, but because I hate being photographed did my best to stay away from being in front of the camera. Two weeks ago, she finally got me. Took my first headshots. Sourced an affordable makeup artist (first time I'd let someone else do my makeup) and, while dealing with someone who loathes being in front of the camera and thinks she looks stoned and dead, managed to produce the most incredible headshots I've ever seen. I've been staring at them for weeks going "What wait? Is that really ME?" Like a fine wine, Shoshana's work has got better with age. And it was pretty darned terrific to begin with.
