I attended my first class with Fountain of Health looking to recover from addiction and because of Marcy's expertise and dedication to yoga as a lifestyle I found just what I was looking for. I was so moved during my first class with her, I became tearful during the final resting pose. The following day I felt rooted to the earth in a way I had never before experienced. There are many yoga studios out there today offering physical fitness and flexibility. This studio is different. Marcy offers transformation through the union of mind, body, and soul. Highly recommended!

I would usually practice here one or two nights each week. The studio is spacious, clean, and boasts a large selection of mats, blankets, blocks, bolsters, straps, etc. The restroom/changing area is large enough and decorated nicely. Marcee is a wonderfully patient and encouraging teacher. Often the attendees are of mixed experience levels and she will tune the class to suit the clients. Marcee is also very attentive and will give personalized instruction or focus on areas that you request. I took mostly the Vinyasa classes and some meditation. I also attended a weekend Acro Yoga workshop here. This studio is located on a fairly busy street, so noise from traffic can be heard inside the studio. This is really only a problem during certain times and if there's no music playing. Before/After class take the short walk north to the Arkansas River and check out all of the interesting murals - there's also a walking path along the river.

It's very difficult to actually get into the pool as an adult swimmer who just wants to swim some laps. I've been told it's due to staffing issues. They can't completely watch the entire big pool so if the pirate ship is open, then the lap lanes aren't open, which is super frustrating. Lap lanes should always be available for use any time any day since not everyone wants do a spin class or run on a treadmill. They've failed the adult swim community and 4 others agreed with me this morning as we sat in the luke warm steam room after we were kicked out of the pool for the 8:45a safety break. Just 45 minutes after opening swimmers are forced to stop their workouts. Not cool. They need to really address this downfall since $70/mo for one person isn't chump change.

I'm currently living in Pueblo during the week for my job (back up to Denver on weekends), and…read moresuffice it to say, I've been pretty lazy during my first couple months here. Like, I can't believe I've been here 8 weeks and haven't done a single workout lazy. Le sigh. Anyway, I was recently encouraged by a colleague to check out REPS, and so I took her up on the offer. They were kind enough to let me stop in, do a tour, meet some trainers and even try a free class to see if it was the right fit. One of the biggest draws for me was the fact that this gym has several membership options and price categories. I've done CrossFit on and off for 4.5 years, and I liked the fact that I could buy either a regular fitness center membership - with access to cardio and weight machines, the training complex, free weights and group classes - or have that membership combined with access to CrossFit classes. They also have various membership terms that will fit any length of stay, whether it's short term like me, or a longer commitment. The pricing is very fair. In addition to the fitness fun, there are plentiful lockers for storage, showers, even a hot sauna. And it's clean! I think it's the first gym I've been in that hasn't had a foul odor coming from the free weight room. Major plus. Other perks: it's conveniently located right off the River Walk. There is plenty of parking, either in a lot dedicated to REPS patrons, or in a number of public parking spots on the street or in nearby lots. The people are super friendly. Seriously everyone here is so nice. And there is a shop that sells supplements, smoothies, etc if that's your thing. From the outside, it doesn't look like much, but the multiple levels allow for seemingly unlimited workout options. REPS comes highly recommended.

A few cons: a lot of the stuff seems old and rickety. Some stuff doesn't feel safe to use, and so many people not wiping down equipment. Otherwise staff is friendly. I do think the membership itself is overpriced. The random massage chair in the corner facing the east window is strange to me. I feel like there should be an area for that type of equipment, not in between cardio and weights. That's just my opinion. There is also an EZ bar preacher curl set up shoved between a cable stand and treadmill, it's not usable as there is no room to actually do the exercises. Things seem sort of haphazardly placed, and there is a bit of a dirty feeling looking at the equipment, floor and walls. Okay place to get a workout in. For being the biggest location in the world I don't think it's huge.
