My massage therapist was Karlo. I got an excellent 90-minute full-body therapeutic massage. The first 30-40 minutes were quite intense, as he worked out the knots and kinks from my shoulders and back. If you ask for lots of pressure (as I always do), be prepared to get it as Karlo is a very strong guy. So the first half was definitely more therapeutic than relaxing. The second half of the massage was more soothing, a welcome relief from the deep tissue work. It was great - I think I was zoning in and out because I was so relaxed. The real sign of a good therapeutic massage comes in the next 24 hours. My understanding is that during massage, toxins are released, and they may make you sleepy. I had a really deep sleep that night; it's rare when I don't get up before my alarm goes off, but I was OUT. And during the day I could feel all the areas that Karlo had worked: they were tender, but not painful. I could tell that they weren't tensing up any more. Karlo is a very friendly, highly professional CMT: easy to talk to, and he knows what he's doing. The studio is clean and quaint, fairly typical - and well-located near Sherbrooke metro. I had both my first couple massage and deep tissue massage at the same time, and the experience was good! We called the studio the night before to book the appointment, and they had more than one slot open the next day. In general, the service was great; the masseuses were nice to talk to and very professional. My masseuse didn't go as hard as I liked on my back, but she definitely compensated on my glutes. My only problem was the washroom - the walls were very thin, and half of it was a glass pane covered by a curtain that you could easily hear though. And while understand that's not exactly something they can fix, it still made me super self-conscious while peeing. read more

She was very professional, really attentive and I personally really enjoyed her style of massage. Studio Orchidée has a New infra red sauna that is free with a massage. Give these guys a call ahead of time to get a massage. They do massages by appointment only. And they know they're stuff including sports and deep tissue. I had a nasty IT band issue, and although there were something lost over translation...my masseuse figured out what was wrong with my leg. I guess the French Canadians have a different name for "IT band" but she knew how to handle it based on my previous sports massages. They're located in a hotel, so when you get there, just let the front desk guy know you're there for a massage and just wait in the lobby and the masseuse lady will come by to pick you up. read more

Received a massage from Sylvain and it was one of the best massages I've had in Montreal. Holy lord, that was a very good massage. It was as though he knew every aching muscle in my back and body and paid special attention to them. He tried many massage techniques that I had never experienced before and the pressure was nice and strong as I like it. It's usually hard for me to find a massage therapist who is both good at targeting the knots in my back and who can give a very strong massage but he was great at both. There is no better reflection of a business than how they react when things go wrong, as was the case with my first trip to Studio Orchidée. I took advantage of their Valentine's special: A scrub or wrap with any purchase of any massage 30mins or longer. So, for my boyfriend and I, I booked one each. My boyfriend chose the salt scrub while I chose the mud wrap, both to be done prior to our massages. Up to this point, things were great... my only complaint being that Id wished the mud was less cold, but not a huge deal. After I was covered in mud, and my boyfriend in salt, the two girls excused themselves so that we could wash ourselves off and they'd come back for our massages. My boyfriend and I spent the next ten minutes trying to figure out how to make the shower water run hot to no avail. Thinking we were idiots, we finally decided to ask the girls for help. Another 15 minutes later they still couldn't figure it out but finally determined that the hotel above had used up ALL the hot water in the tank. It took perhaps another ten minutes for them to come up with a solution - wet hot towels, and a jar of water so that we could at least wipe ourselves off. We knew the spa wasn't too blame and it might have been a frustrating situation otherwise, but my boyfriend and I laughed it off. When the girls came back for our massage, they apologized profusely and, as a gesture of goodwill, offered us an additional 30 minutes of massage on the house - which we gladly took. Later, I realized that a 30-min massage would have been inadequate anyway. And the girls were great! When I went out to pay, the girls apologized AGAIN and told me, surprisingly, that due to the unique circumstances of what had happened, they were treating us to the massage! Now, I would have been ok with the additional half hour but that they decided to treat us? STELLAR. And an assurance that not only will I be returning to give them future service, I will be recommending them to anyone who asks! read more

I just got a couples Swedish massage with a cranberry exfoliation scrub. The massage could have been stronger and I should have spoken up about that but regardless it got the tension and stress out of my back. Just had my second massage at Studio Orchidee. Fabulous ... the bed is one of the most comfortable massage beds I have ever experienced. The place is calming, spotless, they use a gel which is a lot less oil than many places, I had a swedish massage which put me to sleep( despite my efforts to stay awake) . They also offer sport and other kinds of massage. Felt great after - she got rid of all the tension in my back and neck. read more
