I feel bad leaving such a negative review as the owners seem like nice people, but I hope my experience makes them rethink their staff's abilities.
I went in for a gel set and everything seemed fine until I sat down with my nail tech. I had explained to 2 other staff that I currently had natural nails with shellac, however, one of my nails had broken so I wanted to go for a gel set.
In order to remove the shellac, my nail tech poured acetone into a small stainless steel dish and said "put your fingers in". This was much different than I had ever had shellac removed before, but I complied. Once my nails were done soaking she continued to drill off the polish as opposed to scrape it off.
I was horrified to see her reach for her giant tub of acetone and then pour my used acetone back into the big jug. It was probably 2 cents worth, why reuse it?
She then started glueing on the tips. Only, she glued all the skin under my nails to my nail as well. She started to pinch away the skin surrounding my nails and file away at my nails. I felt she was filing hard but didn't realize she had actually broken my skin in 4 different places until I saw bright red blood.
She looked at it and then turned to the man working beside her and started having a conversation in another language. She never acknowledge to me that she realized what she had done and seemed to laugh it off.
She finished my nails and then poured some kind of chemical all over them which burned all the various cuts she had left on my skin. My nails looked ridiculous and unprofessional.
I am seriously concerned about all the cuts that were made in my skin after seeing how the acetone was poured back into the jug - she was obviously not concerned about cross contamination or the various diseases that can be passed via bodily fluids.
I will never, ever, ever go back to studio nails. It was rushed, rough, unprofessional and extremely hard to communicate with my nail tech. read more
