Weddings are as memorable as they are fleeting, so capturing it for keepsake photographs and memorabilia is very important since photographic memory is very rare. Taking pictures is a way to capture and preserve the emotions that were felt at that particular time and hiring the right photographer to capture those moments is just as crucial as any other wedding responsibility. To say the least I am a perfectionist; who is in search of the best of everything and I don't just settle. After much research and meetings with many bay area wedding photographers, we finally (and happily) decided to go with David from studio memories. Alot of the other photographers seemed very arrogant and pretentious in their "I'm the photographer, so I know best" act, as if clients don't know anything about ideas or style preferences when it comes to their domain of expertise. But David was very considerate, he listened carefully to what kind of photography style and shots appealed to us and even suggested (non-aggresively) some of his own ideas only to supplement ours. As a couple we are very picky and undecisive, and we often feel very apologetic towards anyone that has to wait or serve on us, but with David, he was extremely patient and kind. We knew from our first meeting with him that he was our guy for the wedding. The morning of the wedding, with me and my bridesparty running late, we were frantically running around our hotel room trying to get ready at the speed of light, all the while David kept himself calm and had this soothing presence that was almost infectious, it was great having him around. He took a great shot of my mom helping me put on my wedding dress and to this day when I look back at that picture, I always tear up. The wedding ceremony and reception pictures turned out exactly as we wanted them, the lighting and angles that we requested, he definitely delivered! He has a skill for knowing exactly when to take a picture and where to position himself, it was almost as if he was invisible! I was worried that his constant moving around and incessant "clicking" of his camera would be disruptive and distracting but I completely forgot David was even there the whole night! I'm glad to have come across Studio Memories. This place had the most reasonable price listings out of many. I was introduced to David who is a Korean photographer here in Santa Clara by my mom. His work is phenomenal and I couldn't be happier with my albums that I got! I also received two cute little albums for the in-laws and my parents which they absolutely adore. The albums here were the most up-to-date looking ones among all the magazine-style albums I have seen before. We thank him for all the hard work he has put in for our wedding. Perhaps the best kept secret in photography in the Bay Area -- Mr. David Hwang is top notch!!! Firstly, the quality of his work is beyond reproach -- his patience, skill and experience are incredible. We came upon him upon our search for a wedding photographer from the community and we were astonished about how smoothly things went with him. He worked completely around our complex schedule and had his own recommended sites to do the outdoor wedding shoot; he was punctual and could not have done a more fine job. Clearly he has been at this for a while and the album came out first class... as it did for that of our wedding! Mr. Hwang worked extremely hard at our wedding and we could not have been more pleased with him. He took so many pictures, it seemed like there were two of him! The pricing was excellent and you'll find your resources well spent on him. He is a terrific honest man who wants to do an outstanding job for you -- it just doesn't get much better than him! We had a wedding picture from Studio Memories and recommended by my youngest sister. We couldn't take the outdoor pictures during the weekdays because of my busy schedule but he was very kind to work on Sunday for us. We, my wife and I, were really SATISFIED with his professional work and even the price of the whole wedding picture package. The time and effort he was putting on and the result of wedding book and frame work were really OUTSTANDING~!!! We had a great time while we are taking the outdoor pictures, but little nervous on our wedding day. I didn't even know how many pictures we had been taking especially on wedding day. After reading these yelp reviews about this place i just had to try this place (was also recommended through a friend) to get my self portrait taken! and... the reviews are accurate! Mr. Hwang is a great photographer! since it was my first time taking a real self portrait...other than a high school one...i really didn't know how to pose well. He was very patient with me even though i was very stiff and knew my best angles in camera! He is definitely a professional, he knows what he's doing and made the atmosphere not too serious but more comfortable like you're taking a selfie yourself lol he is the best photographer i've ever invested in, and i might even be his frequent/loyal customer. Mr Hwang worked very hard at our wedding 7 year ago and got us some great photos. The man spent many many hours over several days to complete our album and the results were great. Given that I really don't like smiling(really..I don't), I'm surprised he took so many pictures of me actually breaking into a grin. Since we liked his work, we used him as a photographer for our son's first birthday. spent 3 and a half hours on the first day...what a torture. Over 176 photos later, we have a semblence of an album where my son isn't 1) drooling 2) crying 3) or both. He was very accomodating about the prices too.
