Soooo, when I went back and asked for a hot stone massage I was surprised at the deluxe experience. I am updating me review to include the words, "other worldly", "heavenly" and oh so relaxing. I had hot stones under my back (under a cloth) to rest on in the beginning, and stones on my core and between my toes and under by palms....again soooo relaxing. Lea began with a scalp massage in gentle circular motion. I could go back and just have that for and hour! Once she moved on to body work, she again used firm and flowing strokes to melt my stress away...I was comfortable the whole time. Just go. I was pretty happy then when I first got a theraputic message from Nina. She is really, very good. Her sense of touch is unparalleled -- and I've seen a lot of therapists over the years. She seems to sense immediately where my 'hot' spots are that day and takes care of those first, allowing me to really relax for the majority of the session and I feel like, then, I get the most out of the time. And it's not just her "feel," which I'll say again, is remarkable. Her knowledge of skeletal and muscular anatomy is impressive. She's introduced me to concepts -- gently! -- that I didn't know about like negative pressure massage (cupping). And she has helpful suggestions for exercises and stretches you can throughout the day. These suggestions are always offered at the right time and there aren't too many of them. And they're offered in the right way, so you're not left with the feeling that your health problems are just because you're too lazy. And she doesn't talk too much during the massage! (Unless you want to, of course.) Nina's a warm and friendly person and she gives you a lot for your time and money. I've been going to her for over a year now and that hour I have scheduled every-other week is something I guard preciously! So, go to her, but don't try to steal my slot!

We had not ever had a traditional Thai massage and I am so sad that we live so far away. The stretching, moves, commands were backed by years of education. We both felt amazing after our sessions. She was able to educate us on certain moves we could do to help out during our future training. The following days, our bodies continued to improve, each day feeling more renewed than the last. I had two sessions with Mia that only focused on those areas, and after much work (her's) and an occasional amount of acceptable, light pain (mine), she literally brought several strained muscles back to life. The combination of her technique of working from the extremities (fingers) inward was new and explained why other massages that focused on the larger muscle groups brought some relief but didn't work towards solving the core problem. It sounds cliche, but it was also very clear that she's a student of her profession. Her intuition, knowledge, and skill combined with genuine care and attention to what she was doing resulted in pain relief and the reset I needed to rebalance my muscle strength. I created my yelp account a few years ago to plan a trip, and this is the first time I have ever felt compelled to leave a review. It's well-deserved!

She is a very warm, kind, and friendly woman. Also, I love that she makes water with oranges -- it's a little touch but really makes a difference and makes it feel like you're at a spa! Most of all, however, she does incredible massage. She listens so well, releases the tension but also is very gentles, caring, tender and respectful of the body. I feel like I can trust her with my body and she has excellent judgement and intuition on how much pressure to apply. I feel revitalized, nurtured, relaxed after her massage -- and most importantly, it's safe, nothing ever hurts or is sore. It's perfect for the body.
