So I bought a Groupon for a Brazilian wax and I did not know what to expect but I definitely did not expect the person who was giving me a wax to call me a chicken because I was screaming and laughing and screaming and laughing. The person was really fast and efficient but I just dont know about the sterility of her routine. I should've asked more about her procedure but overall I wouldn't come back for a wax. Fine hair review: Kitty has been my hair stylist since 2006 and is the most talented hair artist I have EVER worked with. I have baby-fine hair (not thin hair), but no one seems to understand it the way Kitty does. Unfortunately, she moved to Colorado for a few years and I never found anyone who could work on my hair like she did. I went to Gene Juarez and several other "$65.00+ for a haircut" places, but none of them had anywhere near the same skill set that Kitty does. I literally dreaded having my hair done during those dark and miserable years. But, thankfully she's back and has been working on me for the last year. And, I'm in love with my hair again! Important to note for my fellow fine-hair ladies...she knows how to texturize your hair without using those stupid texturizing shears. Those do not belong anywhere near fine hair! Even my hair-snob, 17-year-old son wants to only go to see Kitty. We travel from deep in South Hill/Puyallup just to work with her. She is worth every penny of the $45 for her cuts. And her coloring is amazing! (She has saved me from several home-dyeing mistakes.) I made a horrible mistake and decided to go to Studio IV for a Brazilian Wax. Let me start by saying I got a great deal on Groupon for a Brazilian Wax. I was about 5 months pregnant. I read you're naturally more sensitive down below during pregnancy, but this was not my 1st rodeo with waxing while pregnant. I thought it was a great deal, but I was wrong. The esthetician had no clue how to properly wax. Using hard and soft wax on certain areas helps with pain and shows proper waxing technique. She had me damn near crying through each pull and sweating profusely because of the pain. She took roughly 45 minutes to only wax the front vaginal area and stated the Brazilian didn't include the bum area. By then I was upset because of all the pain I'd gone through and stated it would cost me an extra $40 if I wanted the bum done. What Brazilian doesn't include the bum??? She blamed my pregnancy as a result of the pain, left patches of hair in the front, did not wax the back and left me sore for 3 days. It was the worst waxing experience ever!!! I read reviews about services and there was no indication about this spa regarding Brazilian waxing. I'm not sure about their other services, but I'd STAY AWAY from this place if you want a decent wax. read more

Worst service ever, the lady I first saw looked at me from top to bottom. The store has only 1 customer ahead of me but she said she would not have time. Then she rushed through my hair cut, deep condition, wash and blow dry (my hair was still wet after) within 30 minutes. Imagine all that jobs rushed through within 30 minutes, would you expect a good out come? After she was done with me she had free time using phone at her desk, the store was empty but I was told she would not have enough time. Also, this is the big negative about the hair stylist name Joanne, she barely talked to me at all, no talking back and forth unless I initiated several questions. Wow, how can someone in this business with that attitude to customers? If you hate the job so much, leave; dont treat customers like this. The whole 30 minutes was silent, the hair cut was blah. Came here for shellac many pedi from Groupon. She did a very good job on the nails. Since this place by appointment only, there was no rush. Expect to spend some time here thou, I spent 2 hours here (of the actual work), but walked out with completely different looking feet and hands ( they were in the very bad condition to start with!) I went in for a gel manicure and regular pedicure that I bought from groupon. I arrived to my appointment on time but the nail tech - Nancy was not at the salon to the point where the employees were wondering where she went. She walks in 10 mins after the scheduled time and asks me if I am early for the appointment. The gel manicure was okay but not the best that I have had. Also, she kept leaving me at the chair multiple times during our appointment. The pedicure was the absolute worst one I have ever had. They have this really small tub for your feet, and the chair was very uncomfortable. The scrub was just applied on my toes it seemed like, not even the whole feet or knee down for that matter. Again, she kept leaving multiple times during the pedicure. After she was done with the polish, I asked her if she has a pair of disposable slippers since I was wearing my socks and boots in. She insisted that I wear my boots and that the regular pedicure will be dry in no time. I told her that I don't want to ruin the pedicure and asked her multiple times if she could give me one, she said they don't have any of those and went into a closet to "look" for one and came out with a pair. All this to say, you get what you paid for since it was a groupon. I was trying to find a new nail person but I will never come here again nor recommend to anyone that I know. read more

She is a very nice and professional person and didn't have to take time to call me. I still look ridiculous, hate the haircut and am very angry. I bought a Groupon and made an appointment to have my hair cut. I showed the stylist Kitty pictures (2 photos-front and side views) of the haircut I wanted which was layered and shoulder length. I cannot see much without my glasses and so I didn't realize she had cut the sides above my chin. The owner was very nice and did the best she could to make my hair look decent but it is still awful and the worst haircut I have ever had. I came into Studio IV a week after getting a full acrylic set from another salon that was done very poorly. When I came into Studio IV, Maya paid such close attention to detail. She did my cuticles really well, she matched the size of the nail really perfectly, she stuck on the nail really well and carefully. My favorite thing is that she made them so thin. I normally bight my nails so I'm really aware of something so clunky being on my nails and it makes me want to pick at them more. The acrylic set really feels like my own nails because they are so thing and so smooth. I also loved how Maya took the time to shape my nails so perfectly and smoothed them out so well, you can't tell where the acrylic ends and my nail starts. First time I got Joanne for cut and foils. She was polite but fairly quiet, which is fine by me. BEST haircut/style ever! Received tons of compliments. 10*s! SO pleased that I decided to go back. Sadly, went 2nd time and got Kristi - THE WORST!! haircut of my entire life. I showed her several photos of the last cut and style, (before it had grown out). She seemed confident, no problem. She kept messing up and trying to fix uneven pieces and sides. Ended up cutting off 2-3 inches shorter than I asked for, but left the back long and full. So basically she gave me a 70's mullet. Nowhere near to the pix I showed her - AND it's STILL uneven! Then she didnt even style it, just blew it dry and fluffed it by hand. Spent no more than 20mins. with me, including wash. I HATE IT, so sad and UNHAPPY. I can't even pay to go elsewhere and have it fixed because there's not enough hair left to do so. All I can do now is wait for it to grow out. My layers should be about 6" long and they are literally barely 3". It's so choppy it looks like I let my dog chew it off. read more

Unpleasant. Unapproachable. Lack of customer service is how I would describe my salon experience with Joanne. My overall experience was just HORRIBLE. Groupon brought me here to this salon. Thought I'd give the salon a try since it's nearby my home and I'm due for a haircut. Purchased the haircut with deep conditioning deal. Tried about 3 times to get a hold of someone, left DETAILED voicemail messages for someone to call me back to schedule an appointment but no luck. Finally got a hold of someone on my fourth try, the person wasn't that great, or sounded very enthusiastic but it's too soon for me to judge. I decided to let that go. The day of my appointment, walked in to find myself greeted by a lady with a simple, mono-toned "hi" with a very judgmental look. As she asked me to sit down and give her a minute, I was praying that she's not my hairstylist. WOMP WOMP. As she asked me to go the to her chair, the lady IS my hairstylist. She asked me how I wanted my hair cut, as I was telling and showing her the length, she was walking away, putting away her broom..... (REALLY?! how are you going to ask me that and not pay attention to my answer?) Got my shampoo, then it was my conditioner? she didn't even tell me what she placed on my head and she advised me to go sit over to the dryer for about 15-20 minutes. The dryer was rested on my head, I had to adjust myself so that my head isn't holding up the dryer. Not once did she check up on me when I was sitting in that dryer chair, to make sure the heat was ok or not. Went back to the chair and got my hair cut. The cut was just HORRIBLE. Just super choppy. I asked for my hair to be re-layered. Oh it's re-layered alright, just in a choppy, uneven way. nothing blends in together. My hair looked better coming into the salon than coming out. Oh, can't forget about the blow dry, she used her hands to blow dry my hair (I'm sorry, don't you have brushes to do this?) Even I give myself a better blow dry experience at HOME than at this salon with Joanne. I am NEVER coming back to this salon even if they offer me a free service. I herniated a disc in my back three days prior, and was worried about my experience, and thought I should maybe cancel. The stylist was amazing, kind, and attentive. I used a Groupon for the cut&deep condition, and loved my results, especially for $14! I will be coming here from now on for my cut, color, waxing and nails. They do it all, and I love knowing I'll be treated with kindness and respect when I want to come pamper myself. I just moved down to Auburn from way, way up north. I had a couple of pictures of hair cuts I was wanting to mix and match... not being the easiest client. She was very patient with me and made some suggestions of her own. We saw Hayden. Went to get my 6 year old daughters first "style" (not trim. She's had a few of those). Made the appointment, we arrived on time, we walked in and were greeted by the woman cutting her hair. No introduction (we were handed a card after). She asked us what we wanted, I gave her a brief idea, showed her a picture and that was it. Not even when meeting her, did she ask her name. she didn't engage her, at all. Didn't ask age. School grade. Nothing!! The hair cut was in complete silence. (She's SIX). All she wanted was a girly pampering, fun experience and I was hoping that her adventure into the "big girl" hair cuts would be fun. After the cut. She did a "blowout" for her. Burnt her scalp. Pulled her hair. Hurt her. And said NOTHING. Purposely caused pain to a 6 year old girl. Horrible. Meanwhile. A man walked in asking for wait time for a haircut. The 2 women working today were so put out and unprofessional about it! (How dare he even walk in!) They said no way would they have time. Even though it was 3:10 and my kid was about done, her next appointment was at 4. (45 mins not enough time for a mans hair cut?) Tldr: not for kids! Last month I went to Studio IV to get a gel manicure and pedicure done by Lee. Wow, was she professional. She was super friendly and made me feel very comfortable. I walked away with the best french manicure I've ever had. My nails are pretty short and brittle, but Lee suggested that she give me a thicker white tip to make my nails look longer. And it totally did. People were commenting on how beautiful and long my nails looked! My manicure lasted a couple weeks and my toes still look good after about a month. I am very disappointed. I bought a Groupon for a man pedi. I made my appointment as they are appointment only. I got a call to come in early if I could. I could only come 15 min early, I sat there for 45 min being 30 min late for my original appointment..then while cutting down my nails it was extremely painful/uncomfortable. The nail tech tried to convince me that I was just "sensitive" and I shouldn't get acrylics anymore. She also told me that the glitter I wanted on my nail that it would look bad. I had to persuade her to or it in my nails. Then my pedi.. The chair is not a typical pedicure chair. She had to fill a bucket with water and then bring it to the chair. The chair only vibrated, not a massage. It also moved around a lot, it rolled if you shifted your weight at all. The actual painting and leaning up of my feet was fine. No great massage it anything. The appointment took over 2.5 hours. 4 days later I have a broken nail and multiply nails lifted. She made sure to grind down the acrylic around the base of nail so I had to count back for a fill earlier. All of my nails are all different lengths and shapes. My worst manicure. Needed a little pep in my step, so I called to see if they accepted walk-ins. They were able to take me in the next fifteen minutes for a hair cut which was great. My hairstylist however didn't introduce herself or really take part in any conversation. She just took me back and sat me down and I briefly showed a picture of what I wanted and she got to work. I had a feeling that either I came in at the wrong time or my extra long hair seemed like a daunting task to her (I had hair down to my waist). Like the majority of the reviewers on here, I bought a groupon for 3 gel mani/pedi's wanting to give this place a shot and treat myself. I'm a SAHM and never get to do nice things for myself. I called to make an appointment, hoping they could see me same day or in the week. No sane day appointments, scheduled for the following week. Not great, but okay fine, I get it they're busy. The day before my appointment they called and cancelled because their apparent sole nail tech was on vacation.....I guess with no notice (what the heck?). Just experienced my worst hair cut ever. Like ever!! The lady didn't really look at my face to determine the best out come. She gave me a cut like in the 80s So my daughter took me to a salon she found on groupon having a special on haircuts but really it wasn't a huge savings only 2 bucks. We get there and the lady is at the front desk taking calls. She takes us back and i get my hair done first. She takes me over to wash my hair and in the middle of washing my hair stops and takes a phone call!!! Then my daughter payed for a deep conditioning treatment for my hair so the lady put in something and let it sit for a minute. I could have done that at home. Like if we are going to pay for a deep conditioning actually do a deep condition. When we go back to the chair and she brushing out my hair she asks what i want. I have semi curly hair, I said I need it trimmed, I want to keep the length and layered. She mentioned framing my face which my mom has done before with just a few strands in the front so i was OK with that. My daughter remembers her saying she was going to round it out. Not sure what she meant by that. I didn't have my glasses on so I really couldn't see what she was doing. While cutting my hair she was talking about herself and her menopause and getting frustrated that the stereo wasn't working. I feel like she wasn't paying much attention to my hair. When she was all done she got out the blow-dryer and shaped an 80's, 90's flower in my hair. I put my glasses on and just wanted to cry. She butchered my hair. It looks like she took my bangs as the base layer on the top of my head. It looks as if there is no style to my hair. It looks like i had it short and i'm growing it out.
