I picked up some new workout clothes at Dick's Sporting Goods, and got some clearance price stuff at Vol Com, not really my brand, but pretty cool stuff. I still wasn't satisfied so i decided to walk around a bit and see what the place had to offer. Lots of interesting shops. Checked out Na Hoku Hawaiian Jewelry (see review on YELP), then I found Miniso. This is basically a Japanese store on steroids. There was all kinds of licensed products. Everything from Harry Potter (more British than Japanese), to Powerpuff Girls (sadly I did not see any Mojo Jojo stuff). My basic thought was,"Wow, I am sure to find something my daughter will like in here." Now that is my sworn task, to get my soon to be 13 year old daughter a present and leave her speechless...to be continued.

Gosh, this place reminds me of Sanrio + Daiso. They have all sorts of fun collectibles: Disney, Pokemon, super Mario, hello Kitty, Powder Puff Girls, Harry Potter, BT21...! Small snack and skincare section. Mystery boxes and little collectibles series figurines. Harry Potter was going for 30% off and BT21 items in one section were on sale. I snagged two BT21 lunch tupperware for $8 each! It comes with a fork and spoon too. Because the HP items were on sale too, my daughter got a new stackable lunchbox for $6! I noticed collector items can be very popular and pricey. This Donald Duck series was sold out, so I bought the next best Donald Duck thing for $25. It's tiny but cute. My daughter loves Donald. This store is a hit with the kids. It's a great place to find gifts. The woman at checkout is friendly and signed me up for a rewards account.

Lots of cool Oregon and Portland stuff from greeting cards, postcards magnets, mugs, clothing, chocolates, candies, spices, blankets, wine, home goods and yes, a whole sasquatch section! Lol! They have plushies of Oregon's official state animal which is the beaver. It is also the mascot for Oregon State University. The young lady at the register was nice and friendly. I spent about $42 here and it's awesome that Oregon does not charge sales tax. (In my local area in California, sales tax is 10.25 percent!) We also saw a Made in Oregon store at the PDX Airport. If visiting again, I would return to this mall location or another 4 stars!

They have a wide selection of Oregon postcards -- not just the typical tourist postcards but also illustrated postcards from local artists and postcards from Lantern Press. I wish I would have thought to look there when I started swapping postcards on Postcrossing. The prices for the Smith Western postcards are some of the lowest in the area -- cheaper than getting them at tourist attractions. They also have stickers and illustrated greeting cards that are Oregon themed. I agree that the food selection isn't what it used to be. I was able to find some teas that aren't available anywhere else. It's also convenient to go in and find a curated selection of Oregon made foods (moose munch, Portland ketchup etc.) when I don't have the time for a Fred Meyer visit. But the candy selection isn't what it used to be. I wish that the store took returns for online purchases and that there was more space between the aisles. Overall, I really like this store and am glad it's in the mall.

Although my wife and I are closer to the Gresham Station Hallmark location, we purposefully drive to the one in Clackamas Town Center because of the service. Every time we went into the store, not only do we get the typical greeting you would find at a Hallmark but you can genuinely feel the care from them. There was one instance in particular where my wife and I found the perfect wedding card but couldn't find the right size and color envelope because of cultural traditions we tried to stick with the gold or red colors. Not only did Sabrina's team help us find the perfect envelope, as silly as that sounds but they made it a fun mission!

The selection of other cards is okay but not great. This was the first time I went in and saw a black employee. The funny part of having a black sales lady was when I went to checkout, all three white sales ladies just looked at me and told the black lady to check me out. Her back was to the counter so she didn't see me approaching. Just a FYI...stop staring at the customers. The checkout process was good, she recognized my rewards status and free card promotion and was a very good conversationalist. We learned a lot about each other in the 5 to 10 minute transaction. Her service level would make me return. Keep working on this store Hallmark.
