Brickhouse Gym - Welcome to Brickhouse Gym! The Way A Gym Should Be

This comes after they repeatedly reduced up-front parking quietly throughout all of last year, first by reserving two spots at the front for EMPLOYEES (why should paid employees park in front of customers???) and then later by blocking the corners and some of the fences from being parked on for no good reason. Up-front parking at the new location is now beyond unacceptable for a gym that costs $70 per month, and it's a huge betrayal to long-time members like myself who have been coming here for years and remember back when there was plenty of up-front parking at the old Brickhouse. Now we have to drive 5 minutes further past old Brickhouse and (if you park in the overflow lot which is RIDICULOUSLY far away) you walk another 5 mins to the gym so you waste an extra 20 minutes round trip for every gym day. That's an hour per week wasted if you workout 3x. Who decided this was a good choice for the new gym??? The inconvenient location and parking far outweigh the larger size of the gym, which btw still doesn't have enough barbells for all the racks and still has outdated equipment in disrepair. I have tried to be patient and give them time to work out their childish quibbles with ETV over the closer overflow parking lot, but I'm not sure how much longer I will wait before canceling for good. Shame on Brickhouse for choosing this location knowing that the parking would be terrible and then deliberately making the parking even worse!!!

This isn't so much a review, commentary, or criticism of OneLife. I know I'm one member, so that…read moredoesn't count for a whole lot. My story is that I have had three trainers within the last month. I know change happens, so this is partly about my own comfort level. I accept change at times, when it is out of my control. Not always a happy camper, but I accept it. Michael, my trainer, who I really worked well with, is now indisposed. Don't know whether it is temporary or permanent. His style was unique and very strenuous. Could be very taxing, but never over did it. Bench press, dead lift, overheads, squats, power cleans, curls, cables, dumbbells, dips and chins. Never exposed me to injury. Mentioned when I had issues with shoulder, knee, back elbow, etc. Other members would praise my form and strength. My two recent trainers, Chandler and Lindsay, have different approaches. They are great at what they do. It's a different workout for me. I'm having some issues adjusting. No criticism. Just fact. The equipment is much improved, in both quality and quantity, and I like the floor plan much better now. I really like how they've added Olympic-weight dumbbells (such as 22.5 lbs), as well as multiple stations for bench press and squats. Because of this, you don't have to stand around and wait too long for somebody else to finish their set, which is a much-appreciated upgrade from Muv. Although I don't do as much cardio as I should, the gym also appears to have an extensive selection of treadmills, ellipticals, stationary bikes, row machines, etc., that you can go upstairs and use. The locker rooms are nice as well, to include a sauna that I've never personally used, but which seems like a good option to have. All-in-all, OneLife Forest Acres is a really solid gym, which is much improved from its previous iteration as Muv Fitness. Because of this, I would recommend getting a membership here, as well as choosing this location over other OneLife's to work out at. Also... I took these pictures during the snowfall of January 2026, and am glad that I got to document it!

Alright y'all I have decided to embark on a new me!! Those that know me know I love food and love…read moreto eat but in hopes of a healthier me I started attending yoga classes. I have attended classes on Sunday mornings so when I talk about my experience it's for Sunday mornings bright and early, gotta love those annoying morning people(yep that's me ‍) So when I attended my first class I was a little nervous hell im no spring chicken anymore, I'm old my joints should be oiled for flexibility but what the hell let's give it a try... I walked in and found I wasn't the only old one lol no offense there were people of all ages. I found my little spot for my mat in the back by the corner. I always like being in the back so no one can see me and how awkward i look with some of these poses but secretly in the back of my mind I'm also wondering if my cheap Walmart Yoga pants are showing my ass every time I bend over or as my son calls it "going invisible" Lord help the person doing downward facing dog behind me and happen to look up and see more than they bargained for ‍!! So I'm getting into the poses the instructor has now succeeded in making me feel relaxed forgetting all my insecurities. She is wonderful love love the instructor!! I can go on and on but let me get to the review great place it's clean, accepting, judgement-free, reasonably priced ($10) a class and a starting place to become one with you‍
