I did Boudoir pics and an family session with my husband and words can explain how happy I was with the results. She is sooo nice and very professional. Some of my friends have used her for engagement and weddings and they have the same exact comments on her service. She is always booked so you need to reach out to her in advance but she really always makes an effort to accommodate you. She also recommended the best make up artist ever, which I have used for every special event (www.aloreink.com). The only downside is that you will have to wait about 4-6 weeks to see your pictures but it is so worth the wait!!!! read more

i had heard wonderful things about carmen and seen her work numerous times. i was always impressed with her talent at capturing true beauty. after my experience with her i have no clue how she is so successful. i had bought a couptessa deal as a gift to myself for my 30th birthday, what better way to remember myself when im old lady then to have my sassy self photographed at 30. i contacted her to schedule my appointment and got an out of office away message. about a week later i got a reply from her that i shouldnt have waited so long to book my appointment as she had no sessions left before the expiration date of the couptessa deal. i went back and forth with her stating that one month prior to expiration was by no means "last minute". i was calling to book my appointment before expiration and that is what counted, if she could schedule me after expiration as a 'courtesy' since i did contact her with a month advance notice. she said no. (please note every other company i have ever dealt with using couptessa, groupon, living social, etc, always honors the deals as long as you book/redeeem by expiration even if appointment is after) i then asked her if she could send me her regular package rates and if she would credit me the couptessa deal and i would pay the difference of her regular rates. she said no. it was clear to me at this point that she was totally uninterested in giving good customer service. i was then left to deal with couptessa to try and get a refund. initially they wanted to offer me "store credit" i refused and asked for a full refund to my amex card. they were upset that she handled the situation this way and gave me a full refund as requested. lesson learned on all ends, everything that glitters isn't gold. read more

This summer I had a session with Carmen. She took great pictures however, I found her to be very unprofessional. I asked her to please not post any pictures of me when I went I sent in all my information and filled out all the forms she asked me to fill out. I was very upset when I saw her use two pictures of me as a promotional advertisement on facebook and her blog. When I told her to please take it off she said that there was no way that anyone could know that was me since all you could see was my body and mouth not my entire face. I told her that already friends had asked if that picture was me. I must have a very distinct smile was her reply. I believe that if a client asked you not to use any pictures from your session you should completely respect their decision and wishes. To her credit she did remove the pictures once I did get upset and asked her to do so. read more

Unprofessional, My pics were not pretty at all. She caught all the wrong angles. Did not enjoy shooting with her at all. Had to stop my session the first 20 minutes. For the money she charges, I would expect beautiful pictures. Instead, they are mediocre. Let alone it took almost a month to receive her 10 photos, all with her logo on the bottom. She did not interact at all, asking me what and how I wanted my pics. She basically just placed me somewhere and told me to smile. Had to fire her :( read more

Carmen is amazing! I did my boudoir pics and my wedding with her. She is a sweetheart, a pleasure to work with, and so talented. I love my pics, they are exactly what I wanted. She has such an eye for awesome moments - my favorite wedding pics are those that aren't posed, and she captures many moments on film I would'nt have if it wasn't for her. She sat with me before the wedding and really talked about what I wanted (and who I didn't want) in my pics. For my boudoir pics I was very nervous but she is so friendly and funny that she made the experience very comfortable and easy. She is SO talented.... this review doesn't do her justice. read more

I really wanted to LOVE Studio by Carmen. I saw some of the photos she has taken online and I wanted to work with her for my 2 month old's photos. I found a photo that I wanted to duplicate and provided it to Carmen. (Inside of an apartment with the balcony and water showing outside.) She said we could absolutely duplicate the scene. When I saw the photos, there must have been 20-30 photos attempting to re-create the scene, but the background looked almost black.. The whole purpose was to see the water in the background and you could not see it. I mentioned this to Studio by Carmen and she just completely ignored my concern. I also did not realize the time it would take to even see my photos. It was at least 2 weeks before I was able to lay eyes on the images, which are all so covered in the Studio by Carmen logo that I could not even easily pick the images I wanted to keep. When my 2 month old turned 3 months - I finally got my photos and noticed that some of the finals were ones where my baby was actually crying, with a red face. I could not tell that from the blurry images sent to choose from. I expected much better, especially for the price. A month to have my photos that were not the quality that I had been promised was a disappointment. read more

I decided to use Carmen to capture images of my son's first year back in 2013. From her website and facebook page, I knew that there was tremendous potential for beautiful images, and Carmen did not disappoint. His newborn picture shoot took several hours because Carmen was so focused on making sure every detail was perfect and just the way I wanted things to look. For a person like me who is so detail oriented and has an A type personality, this could not have pleased me more. After the newborn session, I followed with Christmas, Easter, and Mother's Day shoots. Carmen and I then planned another massive shoot for my son's first birthday. I could not have picked a better photographer to capture all those memories. Each photo is so beautiful, and it's validated by the comments I get when I share them with friends and family. Countless times I have been told that Carmen's pictures look like we belong on a magazine cover! Last year I found out I was expecting a little girl. I was soooo excited. One of the first calls I made was to Carmen! Knowing I was expecting a girl gave us so much more creative landscape. We quickly began planning her newborn photo shoot together. I had so much fun exchanging ideas. After tons of late night texting and sharing pinterest boards, we met for a couple of hours to plan out all the color schemes. Carmen had such a large selection of blankets, props, headbands, and outfits that it was so hard to choose. Carmen simply smiled at me and said, "Don't worry, we will do a little bit of everything." My daughter's newborn shoot was 3 weeks ago, and I was literally speechless when I got the proofs. I can confirm a comment from a previous reviewer. Yes, her proof gallery is watermarked, however, you are also easily able to zoom in and out of images and make special editing requests an no added cost. She takes so many pictures that there is more than enough to choose from. Yes, it does take a bit long to get the proofs, but that is because Carmen does all of the editing herself, and the photos she turns over are simply mesmerizing. It is well worth the wait. Yes, she is more expensive that many other photographers, but in my opinion, Carmen is on another level, and you simply cannot compare. As they say, you get what you pay for! Carmen and Favio are meticulous, and passionate about what they do. I have referred many friends to her, and Carmen will be capturing my daughter's first year too. To top is off, Carmen and Favio as such nice and humble people. They are a pleasure to work with and in my experience they are committed to ensuring that the customer is happy with their pictures. read more
