Imdb.me/actorhung What can I say about this class? IT'S THE GREATEST CLASS TO EVER EXIST IN ALL OF HUMANITY. In all actuality it's a really good class, it's really affordable and there's FREE Food. (which is unheard of for any acting class in all los angles) It doesn't run way into 3 am, everybody Works, and you're almost always in front of a camera. The main focus is Scene Study. The reason why I make this my on-going class is because of Waymon Boone's constant adjustments. I just got fresh off of NBC's "This is Us" and the director gave me a lot of last minute adjustments. After taking this class I felt ready to take any adjustment head on. Waymon is a Jedi Master at this he keeps you on your feet and he helps you with grace and optimism. Occasionally he helps out with self-tapes at the studio. When he's not producing films with Ray Liotta and commercials/ music videos with TYGA and whoever I can't name drop because there's too many. Google Waymon Boone and listen to his Grunge metal 90's band Splendor on Pandora. ( True story) Let's talk about the studio - it's a working studio- Sons of Anarchy filmed out of there for a few seasons and is used quite often in ongoing productions. It's a fully functioning working studio and being in front of the camera in a full studio environment helps with morale if TV and Film are you endeavors. If you want a free audit you can message me at @actorhung on Instagram. Maybe you'll get a cold read and experience the constant adjustments with me. I wish I was being paid to say this but I'm not you will see me in the next class cycle in February's Wednesday Film class where you get full footage of a short film, imdb credit, and PIZZA lots and lots of pizza. Its crafts service all day every day. There's a clip on my "gangster" reel that was filmed out of this class Imdb.me/actorhung Check it out they filmed with a 8k red. It's not one of those unprofessional let's bring a camera and charge students types of classes. Not like any of us actors experienced that or nothing. They offer the Short films class maybe 2-3 times a year and when it's not offered I take the on-going on camera class it's like having a consistent audition once a week which keeps you warmed up and sharp for those big auditions. If I am not on a tv show or producing a new pilot you will see me in class 2.26.2019 please do yourself a favor and reserve a spot. I already got mines. There is plenty of Free parking outside of the studio and Jake who works as an interim body guard and Admin will walk everyone to their cars after class. He's 6 foot 5 and 250 pounds of pure destruction so ladies and gentlemen you will feel safe after class is over. Any other questions send me a follow @actorhung and send me a DM. I will always help fledging passionate actors out. If you follow me get information from me then unfollow me . I will hate you for life and never talk to you again. Jk maybe not who knows, well see. Till then I wish you guys adieu and nothing but immense success in your acting careers. Happy pilot season 2020! Imdb.me/actorhung -Hung Wins read more

Let me give you a tip: There's a camera acting class out here in Los Angeles that is the REAL DEAL! The Price -- I've studied at many classes here in LA for years. Waymon Boone's class is one of the lowest priced in town. But what stunned me was what you get for the price: 1) Free food and drinks at every class...I'm not kidding! 2) The teacher is Waymon Boone, who is a currently working Director/Writer/Producer who directs A-list actors, directs feature films and tv shows that are currently on Netflix and many other major venues. So he teaches from the perspective of a director who is looking to hire actors for camera work. He is extremely intuitive and picks up on any "isms" that an actor may have (and we all have them, for sure :) and gently works you through them, to get you to your most natural core as an actor. The CORE that gets you hired out there, as your unique self that only you can be on camera. Waymon is that rare teacher who is warm and friendly, while maintaining his high standards for what the biz is looking for when they hire actors. 3) You work every week, in Waymon's professional film studio. And every week is a new surprise. You will have a scene prepared to work on and explore with Waymon. But also 1) A mock audition to practice how you handle yourself in auditions 2) A cold table read just like on set, where you create on-the spot 3) An ADR class to hone your voiceover skills and best of all: 4) You get to shoot a short film at the end of the 8-weeks. A short film that Waymon and/or his Associate Jake ( a man with a heart of gold, who works with your schedule and conflicts with a smile and handles a lot of the technical aspects of class) will write for each member of the class to appear in together. They have studied and observed your film essence and they write a part specifically for you that highlights your type and your strengths. That film then goes to many, many festivals globally and you get another IMDB credit, to boot. 5) You will be a much better and confident actor at the end of your 8 weeks, if you surrender and trust Waymon's insights. I guarantee it! read more

This has been my favorite acting class of all the ones I've taken, primarily because of the teachers, Waymon & Jake. They not only look after you as students, but as people as well. I tend to ask a lot of questions in class, and any time I would say I'm sorry before asking a question, Waymon would always say, "No, no. Don't apologize." Him and Jake were always incredibly gracious with me and always made me feel welcome. I will always appreciate them for that. They knew that a lot of us in class were in the beginning phases of our careers, and Waymon would always say that the main thing he cares about is us being able to book work. And even after we had our last class, Waymon & Jake continued to give me encouragement and tips on the next steps I should take to continue building my career. What I loved most about Studio A was that they not only focused a lot on the actual acting, but Waymon also spent an immense amount of time discussing HOW we should carry ourselves as actors, on and off the set, which I find to be just as important as the acting itself, if not more so. Waymon always stressed to us the importance of connecting with others around us and putting out good energy. I believe that's something very valuable because to me, relationships and how you connect with people are important not just in the acting business, but in life in general. I absolutely loved this class, but I loved the people even more. Waymon is both kind and a straight shooter, which I greatly appreciated. He's preparing us for the reality. And I want to make the point that everybody will have their own unique experience. In a class like this, you get out of it what you put into it. So if you take notes, ask questions, know your lines, and prepare as much as you can for each week's scene, you will definitely get out of it all that you can. But you putting in the work is the first step. read more

I'm an actress who's had a ton of training and some wonderful gigs like working on Broadway and getting to work with the likes of David Fincher and Sydney Lumet in film. But I hadn't worked on a film or TV set for 2 years. I needed to shake things up and googled, "Where can I find an acting class that involves shooting a short with a working film/tv director?" Something like that. Studio A came up. I took a leap of faith and so glad I did. This isn't a class where you learn an acting technique - I've had plenty of that. I wanted info from an established working director and I got more than I could ever imagine. I learned about lighting, working with marks, working with a mic, story structure, what it looks like on their end when our submissions come up on Actors Access and what rules us out of an opportunity, et al. The class has all levels of actors but so does a film or tv set. I wasn't concerned about that because I was there for my specific needs. Then there's the final class where we shoot headshots with hair and makeup. In no way did I expect to get the professional level of shots I did. Some of the best in my life I feel and so specific after brainstorming what our brand really is. And then there was shooting the short which was beyond fun. And looks incredible!! And we get IMDB credit. And the price cannot be beat. I am so glad I took a leap of faith. Oh, I forgot to mention how incredibly kind Waymon and Jake are. And they fed us for the shoot plus gave us flowers. I mean, talk about being supported and classy. I highly recommend Waymon Boone, Jake Jacobson and Studio A. #rearprojectiondriving read more

What a great class. Seriously. I got more out of these 8 weeks than I've gotten in other places where I've spent more time and money. The teacher, Waymon Boone, is a director who has worked with A list actors, directed feature films and TV shows and just knows how to tweak your performance to get the best out of it. Additionally, Jake who handled all the logistics, was wonderful, friendly and was always available. He was very accommodating to my schedule and I was very appreciative. This class is geared to get you working!! No frills, no BS, just work. To top it off, it is the only class I've taken in LA where at the end I left with a quality scene for my reel (see link below). Not only was I challenged and grew, but I saw the transformation happening in my classmates. This is one of the few classes where it is worth more than what you pay for. You will be better when you are finished. No doubt. Every week, be prepared to work. I can't wait until the next session begins. Seriously, sign up for this. If you don't, you're months behind anyone else who has taken it. Reel: https://youtu.be/ijAaSLUNotA My IMDB: https://m.imdb.com/name/nm3435721/ read more

This is the best class you could ask for. Waymon Boone and Jake Jacobson teach the art of acting in a way that is positive and encouraging, while coaxing you out of your comfort zone, but they don't stop there. They also teach the business side of acting, how to prepare for auditions, how to create a good profile and resume, what a table read looks like, on set lighting, and even various shots, so that when you do land a part, you know the language of the industry. In addition to all of that you shoot a film on the last day, get professional headshots, and an IMDB credit. They are great at teaching to multiple experience and ability levels as well. You will very happy you signed up for this class! read more

I highly recommend Studio A Acting Class!! I was so blessed to have come across it and to become apart of it. I enjoyed EVERY class I had here. As an actor, I definitely believe I have improved directly from this class. It helped a lot that Waymon Boone, who teaches the class, is a working director. The way he teaches is very practical and effective especially since I mostly aspire to do onscreen acting. The first short film I've been apart of was the one I did at this school and I absolutely enjoyed it! Also, there's FREE food every class!! *happy dance* read more

The instructors are amazing, genuine and have industry experience! They were very helpful, understanding and interactive with small class sizes and individual coaching. You're really learning how to use the camera to your advantage and getting a feel for the way you enhance the cinematography. Going to class was a delight that I looked forward to each week. Amazing perks like headshots and a wonderfully made short film upon completion. I promise if you take this class you'll walk away with a realistic and empowering view on your future as an actor! read more

Class is so great! It's budget friendly (which is few and far between in this city) and small enough that every student gets plenty of feedback and time to work on their performance skill. The first class also gives a mock audition! At the end, you get a scene to put in your reel, and it's pro quality. I've been considering getting back into acting and right now even though I'm taking the class for fun, I'm definitely coming back! Pro Tip: The class may be expanding from just Thurs to Wed AND Thurs as well. read more

There's a reason that all the reviews here are singing such high praises. Jake and Waymon's class is worth way more than the price of admission. In just two months, you will learn so much that will help elevate your acting to the next level. Do yourself a favor and take this class, your future self will thank you! read more
