I felt it necessary to help out fellow travelers & provide a recent update because the hotel has…read moregreatly improved since the last review 2-yrs ago. Pros: * Very decent nightly cost... with a AAA discount, it was $92 with all taxes included. I've been traveling for 2-wks & have spent $159-179/nt on far too many hotels in worse condition that many Motel 6's nowadays, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that the condition of the rooms made the price not sting. * Really lovely, professional front desk agent when I checked in tonight at 4pm. * Hot morning breakfast, 7-days/wk. A nice touch is they offered fried eggs (kind of like the egg you find on an egg McMuffin), scrambled egg patty & fried sausage patties & links, not boiled as a lot of hotels seem to be doing these days. No potatoes or fruit, which would have been nice, but they did have bagels, white bread to toast & some sort of packaged sugary pastry. * Good location with wide parking spaces. Truth be told, I pulled off for the Comfort Inn next door, but the wonky parking spaces & look of the hotel made me bypass it when I saw the BW behind it. I also knew the nightly cost was $160. I'm glad I did (although CI might be fine, too... I just went with my gut feeling). * Nice feel to this hotel... there's an old western, Victorian feel to some of the decor. I have the feeling, due to some of the old fixtures in hallways, doors, side offices, the front desk, etc., that this might have been a very old establishment. * Room is nice & clean, had plenty of towels, m/w, mini-fridge, coffee pot, plenty of coffee/plastic cups, 2 soaps, plenty of lamps around the room & I like that the tub is ceramic. * Quiet inside & out. Nice feature is the doors don't slam as loudly as many hotel doors do... if you turn the handle & close it softly & then push on it to engage the lock, it doesn't wake the bldg like many others do. * Good, strong WiFi. Easy to get out without bells & whistles some other chains have. * TV is great. You have every single news, weather & cable movie channel. I wish I had time to stay & chill out another day. * Nice, small pool out front but on March 9th, it was far too windy & chilly to be in an outdoor pool. They also have a small fitness center near the elevator. * Big bonus is the wall a/c-heat doesn't rattle like a jet engine. I needed constant heat on this 50-degree night & it can be adjusted Lo-Med-Hi, which is a welcome touch. Cons: * Nothing really. On this night at 5pm, the 24/7 lobby coffee & hot water were all cold. I could have asked the front desk to make more but I didn't want it enough to bother & I heated my tea water in the m/w in my room. * My shampoo/conditioner samples were empty but I have my own & am sure I could have asked the front desk for replacements... I just didn't want to go back downstairs. Water pressure wasn't very strong & being on the 3rd fl, it took a few min to heat up, but all in all, it was fine. * Not a big deal to me but someone below said that in '22 the ice maker on the 2nd & 3rd floors didn't work. They still don't, but the ice maker on the 1st floor is operational. 4* out of 5. Give them a stay if in the area.

The water pressure in the shower was prefect and there was plenty of very hot water. Towels and sheets were fluffy and soft and I slept great on the comfy mattress. Another huge plus, especially if you visit Orange in the summer, is the upstairs was nicely cooled; I never felt warm inside for a second. There is wifi, but I only really used it to download a new book to my Kindle. There's also a TV in the room with Direct TV, but I never turned it on, instead preferring the serenity of this quiet, historical neighborhood to cast the perfect reading environment. I'm a light eater, so Gina, the innkeeper, provided me with fresh fruit salad each morning with toast or bagels. Parking is off-street and around back, so you never have to worry about your car. The is an expansive backyard with huge old trees. I preferred the front porch to watch for the occasional passing freight train which runs down the block. (There is a quiet zone in Orange now, so there is virtually no noise from the passing freights.)

I definitely love this casino and better than Sam's Town as they have much more machines there and layout is much better. They do not have any card games however unless I missed it. They do have a racetrack and you can go outside and see it. Rooms overall were nice, but the walls were paper thin. The issue was that we were next to people that had a lot of noise on the first night and were totally drunk and security had to come up and settle things down. Service was really friendly as they let us do late checkout. I hope next time we get to stay in a suite as in Sam's Town we get to stay in the suite. I probably had the most fun at this casino as they had a range of good games and I had some good wins and I probably came out a winner here. However, I wish I came out a winner throughout the trip. The only issue I have is the lack of machines to cash out the machines as during a busy night the line can get really long as I usually like to cash out the ticket. I did see a lot of people get jackpots, but I was not one of them, but I can see potential. They only had the 5 line version of the Ainsworth games, but I learned to play with the 5 lines and was not too bad. I did well on both the high and low volatile games and lasted quite a long time there. Unfortunately, I gave back most of my money as I was chasing the $10 dollar pinball as I really wanted to try for a jackpot. But I had fun though. It does get smokey and very crowded here. the slot machines are very close together and you can bump into people easy. The soda machines there are only 2 locations I know of. I definitely would come back here again.

I was vlogging and recording my own machine, and the front desk lady clearly told me it was fine to do so. But a few minutes later, three security guards surrounded me like I was doing something wrong. I felt completely racially profiled and embarrassed. To make things worse, when my mom tried to clear things up, the same lady who told us it was okay to record switched up her story and told my mom she "never said that." It was shocking and disrespectful. This was supposed to be a fun, relaxing birthday trip for my mom -- instead, it turned into a humiliating and uncomfortable experience. I didn't even finish my drink -- I left it sitting there and walked out. And as we left, security watched us like we were stealing. Delta Downs, do better. No one deserves to be treated this way. You've lost my business for good.

You have to drive between these two to find the hotel. The hotel is very clean, fenced around, beautifully landscaped, and well maintained. The staff are great. The hallways have a wild casino themed carpet and there is the casino a few feet away from the lobby through a breezeway, but you don't have to go there if you don't want to. My room smelled a bit strong of "air freshener" when I arrived, but other than that was spotless, very comfortable, and pleasantly decorated. It was equipped with a mini-fridge, microwave, big screen TV, a very comfortable bed, big bathroom with rain shower, nice towels. There was a pool that looked nice. Ice machine was at the end of the second floor, and there was a washing machine and dryer available. Like I said, there are various eateries right outside with a variety of food: Subway, Hunt Brothers Pizza, fried chicken, and more, a sports bar, and the casino. The hotel lobby is nice and the morning personnel are friendly. The check in clerk was more businesslike, but he was efficient. They require a refundable deposit for any damages. No smoking. I did not eat breakfast there but it looked very good, more than the usual. They had a hot breakfast with eggs, sausage, and a lot more. I'd definitely stay there again, and would be comfortable taking my family.

Cereals weren't really kid friendly. There were a few pieces of fruit and a small assortment of breads/pastries. Overall not bad. The pool area didn't look very appealing, I could see what looked like leaves in the bottom. But we didn't get in it since we were just passing through. The theme is casino which was different and cute. Had good parking and easy access to rooms.

My RV broke down in Orange and I've been getting help from home with little money...I asked for a non-smoking room because I have respiratory condition and they couldn't accomidate, saying they'd call me 2 days later when one opened up. I don't know if there was mold in the AC or something but I kept getting migraines and couldn't sleep. I had trouble breathing and after those 2 days began to get sick. Naturally, I didn't want to complain or even post here because I don't like to badmouth people. But I kept being told there was no non-smoking room available, and treated in a rather condescending tone. I'd noticed few days later that my phone and TV weren't even plugged in and when I asked a third time on non-smoking room availability they said I "should have come by the office sooner". I have spent the duration of my time here sleepless and sick and going by their impression feel jerked around and mislead. Also, I saw housekeeper once and said a friendly hello in passing and got a really snide wordless reply / look. I didn't think much of it, because I'm not a person to get insulted. But then, the housekeeping cart never once came by my room for laundry or trash or anything. I don't mind taking care of those things myself (=I live in an RV usually), but ..?! It felt very directly offputting and the housekeeping cart would often wake me up in the morning being slammed into the outside of my room door. When I would walk past or upstairs, the cart would be re-positioned to block my path. I kept politely asking for a non-smoking room, and was told I'd be phoned the next day. I then came to find that the phone and TV in my room weren't even plugged in. Other interactions with management here just gave me a sense of defeat and left me with the impression that they didn't care about the few thing that I might need (nothing not promised initially), so long as I kept paying money. I don't have a lot of money at all and in fact have been receiving help from home while my RV is fixed, and this really rubbed me the wrong way. I don't know what the issue was, why they were so rude, but I would never ever stay here again. Not enjoying giving this feedback - again, I have never posted about anywhere - But am sharing here because it really felt that disrespectful unaccommodating and borderline exploitative. I truly regret having stayed here.
