Classical Ballet Conservatory - Ballet classes for girls and boys help your child achieve their performance dreams

My kids are still at this ballet school!! By the end of the 24-25 season they will be 9 and 11. I…read moreenrolled them as soon as they turned 3 for the upcoming season. The school is now in its 10th year of business. My girls have done well in elementary school. They never struggled with reading or math, or making friends at school. I do believe enrolling them in a good ballet school has a lot to do with it because ballet teaches memorization, repetition, practice, confidence, be social, and permission to be creative. Highly recommend this place for your child. Older students are respectful and good role models around the younger students. Everything at the school from costumes, choreography, and music are age appropriate At the younger levels it's more of music and movement lessons, getting kids to enjoy dancing and overcome stage fright. As they get older they stay in class longer learning more ballet. The school now offers acro and musical dance theater as add-ons to ballet lessons. They also do Disneyland parade trips, you don't have to be a student at the school for the Disneyland parade. Haven't done the Disneyland trips yet or MDT but the girls do like acro. My favorite though is... END OF YEAR RECITAL The end of year summer recital is NOT TO BE MISSED. 5 star, 2 thumbs up. Each production gets better and better each year! If you never enroll your kids here, at minimum go to the CBC end of year show, well worth your time to go. It is usually held the 3rd weekend in June for two nights. Location varies but they will put that info out on their instagram page. The CBC productions are fun and kid friendly, since they dance to music from Disney movies but also have nods to excerpts from traditional ballet productions of Alice & Wonderland, Beauty & the Beast, Cinderella, Peter Pan, Little Mermaid, Rapunzel & Aladdin! The owner is a professional choreographer, so instead of just seeing routines of each & every class one after the other, the owner integrates several levels together in some of the performances during the show; younger students would be like the corps de ballet doing their dance while the older students do their solos and pas de deux. You need to watch in person to understand this. It is beautiful and unforgettable to watch, just like a professional ballet production. I'm impressed with the creativity and thought put into all the performances. Several of our family and friends come out to attend and say they enjoy it better than watching a Broadway show, hah! Obviously it's student run, they're not professionals but they have so much joy performing and work very hard to prepare. Absolutely buy tickets to support the students who work so hard and dance for the joy and artistry of it.

I loved dancing there, to this day it's the best ballet and contemporary dance instruction I have received. I have made very valuable friends and unforgettable memories at this dance studio! All of the instructors are amazing and give constructive criticism individually so that each dancer can improve and feel that all the instructors genuinely want us to evolve and become amazing dancers. It is a wonderful environment here because there isn't any unhealthy competition between each other and I know from talking to others and from personal experience that the days when we had class were the best days of the week! I can't wait to go back and visit, I would definitely recommend Classical Ballet Conservatory to anyone and everyone!

Whether you're a veteran dancer or new and just curious this place is for you…read more They offer a free first class to check it out. There's also a punch card that you can buy for $80 for 10 classes and doesnt expire, which is great for busy people that can't always make it to a class. They have multiple classes for adults at varying levels. The instructors are very nice, knowledgable, and will work with you at whatever level you're at. I've been to a few adult classes at different studios. For the beginning class here, I wouldnt say it's the best. I believe in the beginning class you should be working on technique and the instructor should be helping you and correcting you more. This is more of a for fun class to get you started in dancing. It's not as serious as the other levels which some people might like. The other level classes after the beginning level are much better. Here they focus on your form and everything else. The instructors are paying attention to your lines more and offer more constructive critism. These classes I think are better if you want to learn more, work on strength and flexibility, and do more dancing.

Salt Lake City Ballet is a great studio for adult ballet students. They offer classes at every…read morelevel and even offer a Truly Beginning Ballet class. This class is great for newbies who (watched a few episodes of Breaking Pointe or SYTYCD and) are curious about ballet and want a welcoming environment where they'll feel comfortable dipping their toe in the water. I've studied ballet at an advanced level and I've been able to find a challenge in each of the classes I've attended--from beginning/intermediate to intermediate/advanced. The instructors I've experienced (Hillary, Patricia, and Amy) are top-notch and friendly with their feedback while being constructive. Similar classes at RDT will run you $12 (plus downtown parking is a nightmare). The classes at SLC Ballet are $10 drop-in rate or you can purchase a punch-card that brings the classes down to $8 per 1.5 hour class (and parking is a dream so you don't have to worry if you're running late). I've been able to build up my strength, stamina, and flexibility again, and I'm looking forward to advancing these skills even further with the adult classes at SLC Ballet. I highly recommend it. The first class is complimentary, so you don't have to take my word for it; you can try it out for yourself.

This was the easiest Latin dance social I could find when I was in town (they share broadly across…read moretheir social media pages). Apparently they've been doing this for like 15 years so it makes sense that it's well-attended. I took an Uber and was glad the parking lot was full- yay for a great turnout! You can pay online but I didn't bother with that since they ask to create an account. I just paid cash at the door ($12). The woman at the front seemed a bit flustered since she was the only one there. It would help if there's guidance for newbies (pay here/get wristband there, water bottles available, etc.). Once I got in, the first thing I looked for was a place to put my coat. There were a bunch by the entrance but I didn't want mine to get lost in the pile. Thankfully I found a coat hanger in a corner in the second room that worked well. The first room was the biggest and the main room. The DJs there played mostly sensual Bachata (wish they had played some traditional Dominican too). The second room was smaller and at first it was the Kizomba room but then it switched to the Salsa room. I wish the ventilation in this room was better. There was no air-flow whatsoever. Ended up spending most of my time by the only fan available. The Salsa song selection was on point! Lots of great classics and danceable songs. They offer a dance lesson before the social begins but I didn't make it in time. Around midnight, there was a special performance in the main room by a couple of instructors. Everyone gathered around to watch. It was an amazing Bachata show! Right after, they had the birthday dance, which is a tradition in many dance communities. Everyone lined up to dance with the birthday person. There were many great dancers and I had a blast! At one point the woman at the front got mad at me for walking through the curtain to go back to the front. I was looking for water bottles and didn't feel like elbowing everyone along the way since it was very crowded. It just seemed like an easy shortcut. She was very upset, which made me feel bad. There was a food truck with great options outside so I just ended up leaving.

Teachers were clear, took things really slow, a little too slow in mine and a few others opinions. If you've danced salsa or bachata or any ballroom before maybe come into the class half way through. Class was 9-10, then the floors were open. The music is FAB! They even had salsa going on in the other studio with live drums! The djs were EXCELLENT. Sound equipment was fabulous! Bathroom nice and clean, and spacious for changing. The lighting and ambience is just fantastic! Really good. The temperature is great too! Not too hot at all. I appreciated that they had a cop/bouncer dude at the front of the studio. The teacher is gorgeous and knows what she's doing. I definitely will be going back. 100%. Really good people. Tons of fun! Like, if you've NEVER dance a day in your life, go to the beginning bachata class! Thanks guys!!!

The three-year-old class had ballet bars set up in the center of the room at the perfect height for those little girls. The class size was small (about 7) with two teachers. Each girl received individual attention while the instructors worked on their steps. Parents remained outside the room with only a small, one-way mirror to observe the class. Even during shoe changes, we weren't allowed in. I was way okay with that! The instructors made sure the girls had their tap shoes on and tied before starting the second half of class. Along with cute foam circles to make sure each girl had her own spot along the bar or along the side of the room and personal instruction, there was a time for some free dance with the lights dimmed and small sparkly tree branches to hold and twirl. It was awesome! You can tell Jennifer Hansen is serious about her academy and her dancers. We are loving it!

So much so, that last year I knew I had to try to be a part of the fabulous faculty! Ms. Jennifer was gracious enough to accept me as a small part of the staff, and the students here have been absolutely amazing. They've been taught so well in how to be respectful, have a kind and encouraging treatment toward each other, and progression in their development that is stunning! Observing how the studio runs from enrollment and class evaluations to the recital and opportunities for dancers for the last year and a half has been a TREAT. Each faculty member truly LOVES what they do and LOVES these kids. There is loving professionalism that permeates each classroom. Truly, this is a studio fit for any parent who wishes their child to get the best experience! I can't WAIT for my 2-year old to get a titch older so she can begin her journey with PDA!
