Scam beware. - PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME - Girlfriend won a $450 voucher through a "competition". After spending hours there it all seems pretty legitimate everything went well took photos and after having the photos "touched up" they took us into a dark room and let us know 10 photos were going to cost us $3000 ON TOP OF THE $450 VOUCHER. (Mind you if you ask prices leading up to this point all the staff constantly dodge the question. Please don't make the mistake we did and look for other more reputable photo studios. read more

Great photograph session but it's what happens afterwards that's awful. It was me and another Uni student who won a free $800 gift card to have the photos done. Packages were 30-70% off but, according to our pre-shot information pack, we had NO OBLIGATION. So I find it strange they shove you in a private room with someone who lets you go through your photos but then throws package deals and legal forms in your lap. In a moment of pressure, we signed. She did not mention once we could buy single photos. And the cheapest package? Over $1000. And now I can't cancel. This was by far one of the worst experiences I have EVER HAD with a photographer. A girlfriend of mine was given a gift by friends for a photographic experience... It was "valued" at $800. I was asked to come along, I felt apprehensive as I thought it would be one of those scamming photo shoots where they charge a ludicrous amount for a highly airbrushed and bullshit photo. Booked in over the phone, one girl, I think her name was Kat, she was lovely, friendly and personable. When I rang back to confirm some information, I was rudely answered by a girl who stated in an unnecessary, aggravated tone that "lots of people call here, can you be more specific?" That soured my tone towards the company right off the bat. On the day, we drove to Studio 504 and parked on the street, we found the location... Which is directly across from some squatters living in tents on a block of land. It wouldn't have been so bad if they hadn't chased a nearby man with two dogs off their "turf" by hurling stones and swinging golf-clubs at them... Or maybe it was the random abuse they hurled at anyone who got within a 500m radius of their area... Flaming trash cans and all... Once inside, the property was well presented and the pictures on the walls were lovely. The nice receptionist was there, along with the quite unattractive, sour-faced and poor-phone mannered other one. We were presented to the "make up artist/hairdresser" for preparation. Firstly, I used to be a make up artist for 6 years, and I have NEVER painted sorbolene cream onto someone's face to "prime" their skin before I made them up, (I have oily skin and I broke out after a day or two VERY badly after the make up was put on.) It was crap. Amateurish job at best. I did a better job myself the weekend before for a friend's birthday party that I was hosting. Not impressed at all. Then she proceeded to "style" my hair, (GHD curls which weren't done properly, and back combed/teased my hair even though I asked her not to as it would damage it.) All whilst she complained about her younger boyfriend and how he mistreats her.... Hmm... Not really the most professional conversation. During the photo shoot, pics were taken in several formats. The photographer was friendly and funny. Once completed, we were given a coffee and taken to a "viewing" room to proof the pics. (This is where it completed soured my mood.) As soon as we stepped in that room, the photographer/salesperson's mood totally changed. He became cold, distant, unsmiling and impersonal. He flipped open an iPad with prices on it and stated that they had payment plans and we pretty much had to decide IMMEDIATELY which photos we wanted. This is the very horrible part... Nowhere on their website or ANYWHERE in their material does it state what the price ranges are... Until you sit down after the whole process. THEY WERE CHARGING $250 PER PHOTO!!! That is highway robbery and I told them as much. Left feeling disappointed, upset and unhappy that I WASTED a day where I could have worked. REVIEW: Great Photographer, great experience on the day. That is where it ends. The production and delivery side of this business is appalling. Studio504 didn't do the touch ups as requested, Took 6 weeks to mail the photos and then there where photos missing. They Refuse to give customers partial refunds for there errors and took another 8 weeks to mail out the wrong product, yet again. I would not recommend this studio. The makeup artist was very rude, needs to keep her opinions to herself. The photographer didn't bother to call me by my name but just kept referring to me as 'you'. He showed little to no interest in trying to get us natural poses and just seemed to follow standard procedure which was too structured and artificial. Far too expensive experience. Great place for a photoshoot, easy parking. Hard to get by transport. Very nice staff, great makeup artist and hairstylist. The take a lot of photos, but the prices are extremely expensive. The minimum amount of photos you can buy is 10 which is valued at like $1500 even with your discount voucher. Personally not worth it as when you ask them to do the touches up you requested on the specific photos and they don't do them when you get your printed copies delivered to you. This studio is 504 in Darlington Redfern is a SCAM. No actual customers. They give free vouchers from 800 - 1,000AUD value. They give these vouchers in a restaurant bar called The Mediterranean in Oxford st. where all girls attend some Hen's party of their friends. Anyway I got 800 vouchers, free hair and make up and photoshoot. Studio is ok but trying to find the reason why they are giving these service for free. They must be up with something with these amazing 800-1,000 AUD vouchers. I wasn't stunned with type of service, coz if they are that good they will not do this type of promo. But not knowing what's the story, I was just happy to go their for FREE (as the voucher says) so I want to pamper myself. Anyway... The trick, they let you pay for printed copy of A4 size that values 250 AUD each! and to get 25 or all photos you will pay them 6,000 - 10,000 AUD as digital copy with the hardbound album! FOR FUCK SAKE!!! Are you seriously kidding me that these type of photography studio exist to cheat people??? If they say it's a voucher and based on consumer laws and as a gift card and clearly says that they guarantee you will experience something FREE that you keep in your memory -- you shouldn't pay anything!!! But in their website nor in their Direct Mailer flyers and brochures there's no indicated price plan that you will pay correspondingly the digital copy and you pay it in installment basis!!! Seriously? Well that reveals the trick or the fraud of this marketing thing this photography studio is doing...and to get some consumer or customer insight, I spoke to the family who finished the session and they said it's a scam! And feels exactly how I feel. Next time you get this voucher it's a SCAM, a trick! And this should go to Australian Consumer Law, on false and misleading claim. I am still waiting for the refund money of 45 aud that they asked me, the all the mobile numbers that they used to contact me including the owner's are all disconnected, sounds dodgy! I will see tomorrow before I write a summary complaint of this type of business operating here in Sydney!!!! How pathetic the business approach to drag customers to go to their studio, when you say FREE gift vouchers, you should mean it! And if a customer has to pay something don't unveil it as a grand surprise after the photoshoot. SCAMMER this is what Studio 504! read more
