I was walking along Avoca Street in Randwick and the window of picture man caught my eye. I would never normally consider paying for photography, as in this digital age, it is so easily accessible. However I was so impressed by the poster size baby photos in the window, I knew it was a good idea. It does not matter how expensive your camera is, portraiture is a great skill and it can be difficult to capture those perfect photogenic moments. Also I loved the tag in the window "Shoot the kids, hang the family, frame the wife" brilliant. Anyway, my friend was thrilled with the gift and the results, and I suppose her little creation is kind of cute, but she can keep him.

Working in a virtual world, it's more important than ever to have a good picture to connect with colleagues who we don't meet in person as much as we used to. The experience is great - you arrive, Jom shows you the setup, does a few test shots, fixes a few details (in my case, combed my eyebrows and used tape to straighten out a wrinkle in my shirt,) and then coaches you on smile and positioning for a great shot. Jom then helps you quickly choose the perfect shot, and gets underway with the photoshop retouching process while you stand next to him. This part is a treat to watch as he enhances so many little details to come up with a natural fresh look. This is my second headshot with him, and I hope I can keep coming back every so often for an update.

Making connecting fun since 2013…read more You may think co-working spaces are only for app designers and people aspiring to be app designers. Well, I'm not a app designer, and I never will be (my fingers aren't nearly dextrous enough to get through the testing phase) and I love this place. I've co-worked from here a couple of times, which was fun and different, but the real value for me are the events. The last one I went to was on personal branding and social media and it was packed, there was great speakers, and urryone was friendly as hell. Oh and I mentioned how straight-up cool it is, right? Loads of little break-out spaces, cool meeting and function areas, and a cracking view into some guy's little party terrace just across the road. If i was that guy I'd wander around naked a lot, give the people a show, you know how it is. Come and play.
