We even got to sample a third pinot noir after our tasting concluded. The ambiance is fun and friendly. We walked in on a hot afternoon and were happy to sit in the AC and the comfy couches and chairs. Our server was friendly and did a great job of explaining each wine. If you like the Sounders, they may also put a game on the projector. I love wineries that do not try to put on an air of superiority like they're above playing sports in their tasting room. This tasting room has people who are neighborhood friends with great taste in wine! I went home with two bottles of orange wine because it pairs well with spicy food, which I love! Parking is free underground - you may have to validate. Overall, I would recommend and return!

The tasting associate was so friendly and gave us just the right amount of information on each wine. They mostly have pinot noir (from Oregon), which was exactly what I was in the mood for. Even though the reds are all the same varietal, they were all so different and interesting. My friend and I loved tasting them side by side! I will definitely be back next time I am in the mood for more pinot noir, but am not completely sold on the schoolhouse district as a whole.

We had literally the very best service from the kindest, sweetest soul (I can't for the life of me…read moreremember her name, I'm so sorry!) I'm not a red wine drinker, so she hooked me up with the summer tasting flight (all whites and a rosé, my faves ) and the wines were absolutely stunnnnnnnning, I learned so much about different flavors of wines. We got the truffle popcorn too and I treated my partner to a dealcoholized wine that she LOVED. She even brought me some reds to try, and I can't lie, they were pretty good!!! It's a beautiful tasting room with incredibly kind service, and an amazing way to celebrate my birthday Also the bathrooms are incredible

As someone who was raised by a distributer employed by a company out of Napa, I have a fairly broad experience with wine, and my friend was an associate at Total Wine for years so we came in feeling like we would be able to enjoy this! We were hosted by Laurent, and essentially ended up in a private tasting, as it was just me and my friend in the library. This meant an incredibly intimate tasting with an extremely knowledgeable Laurent, and I'm proud to say that we impressed him! I learned so much about how to taste and identify different aspects of wine, and love that I got to take home a bottle of my favorite as part of the challenge. If you want a quieter, more intimate experience where you can challenge your palette and bask in the awe of an experienced sommalier, the Black Glass Challenge is for you.

Reservations are recommended for Flight Tastings. Reservations are for 90 minutes. Flight Tastings consist of four wines for $30 per person. While sampling different wine profiles and conversing amongst ourselves, we ordered a couple snacks to share. We shared the Grand Vin Charcuterie Platter for $50: cured meats, cheeses, crackers, fruit, vegetables and spreads. We also shared the Artichoke & Tomato Flatbread for $18: artichoke hearts, roasted tomatoes, fontina, mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses, arugula and finished with a drizzle of red wine syrup. Our food choices paired perfectly with our wine. After sampling all four varieties, we ordered a bottle of the 2023 Limited Release Autumn White Blend for $30 to share before continuing downstairs to shop. All staff members that we interacted with were incredible; knowledgeable, passionate and welcoming. Thank you, Chateau Ste Michelle for providing classy yet laid-back dining experiences.

The tasting room has a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere and makes for an easy Woodinville stop when you want to sit down and enjoy a tasting or a glass of wine. What really stood out, though, was the service. Our experience was made significantly better by how warm, attentive and genuinely hospitable the team was. It's one thing to enjoy the wine, but exceptional service is what turns somewhere you enjoyed into somewhere you actually want to return to. Another thing worth knowing: Matthews also offers offsite events and tastings, which is such a great option if you want to bring the experience to a private event rather than hosting everything onsite. There were a few little things about the overall experience that probably would have landed Matthews at a 4/5 for me, but the hospitality completely won me over. Great wine and welcoming hospitality will get me back every time.
